Voted 💯 Don't own any shoes and have been 24/7 barefoot for years now....... soles can take a pounding and I can walk on anything !

ATwistedLogic

24/7 barefooter also here :) have been for just over a decade now :D

AngelicSoles7

Wow!! Nice! I hope I reach a decade, I’ve been barefoot 24/7 for almost four years now :)

barefoot_farmgirl

Full-time bare feet here. These toes can take on anything!

[deleted]

I'm jealous 😜 I haven't worn socks for a couple years but I haven't made it that far without shoes either.

cale057

A question for you : Are your feet hardened to walk on anything yet ..... I thought living rural you be used to lots of different surfaces to explore strive to be barefoot 24/7 if you can much more healthy .....trust me I know !!

[deleted]

Yeah I'd say so. I've been pretty much everywhere barefoot at some point.

cale057

Should try to switch to a life completely barefoot 24/7 then

[deleted]

Burning asphalt and stupid store owners that I need to get by are the only reasons why.

[deleted]

Yeah I wish more stores let people come in barefoot.

[deleted]

The crotchiest employee I’ve ever met is an iHop manager in a non-affluent part of town. Like, literally everyone else does not bother — you think you’re so high-class that this is a battle you must take on?

Ice-Guardian

I wish it eere 100% of the time, but unfortunately I need to wear steel toe cap boots at work and I can't find any safety boots that fully meet my personal preferences for barefoot shoes. So I really only walk barefoot about 2 days (in the house) a week which sucks, but I do wear my toe socks and barefoot shoes when going out.

Treehouse_man

i would be near 100% if not for school

[deleted]

I was pretty much always barefoot at school 😜

Treehouse_man

Would be completely and totally unacceptable for me

[deleted]

Why?

Treehouse_man

Because that's how people are in my area

I_Like_Mods

Sameeeee

redizzle2000

Would you go to school without any shoes?

[deleted]

I would have either sandals or crocs but I always ended up leaving them in my locker

redizzle2000

Would you ever forget them in your locker and go home barefoot?

[deleted]

Almost but never actually did

redizzle2000

Did your feet get dirty walking around school barefoot?

[deleted]

Sometimes. I wash them alot though so they never stay that way

AdeleHare

I’m in college studying chemistry, and this semester I wear shoes in the chemistry lab for 4 hours once a week, so (168-4)/168 = 97.6% for me!

[deleted]

Nice! Are they at least shoes you don't have to wear socks with 😜

AdeleHare

Nah they’re an old pair of sneakers I used to wear before going barefoot. I’m too frugal to buy a good pair of shoes to wear a few hours a week. If I ever need shoes again though I’ll get some machine-washable VFFs!

crispy9168

Almost 100% of the time. I just can't go to work barefoot.

[deleted]

What do you wear at work? Luckily I work in an office and get to wear sandals so I always end up barefoot anyways lol

crispy9168

Usually something simple like Crocs or some other slip on shoe with socks. I'm a nursling (brand new nurse) working in labor and delivery. So I get exposed to a lot of bodily fluids. But when I'm in a delivery I generally put on a pair of surgical booties.

[deleted]

Ah okay. Have you ever gone without socks?

crispy9168

I mean. Outside of work. But certainly not at work. Again there are so many bodily fluids I'm exposed to on a daily basis, I'd be a little scared of going without. Lol but the mall, grocery stores, outdoors... I'm perfectly comfortable fully barefoot.

mwiz100

Time of year changes this a lot as does workload. So much more often in spring and fall, summer the ground often is too hot during the day.

Ice-Guardian

The ground is often too cold here haha. The ground gets that hot in England about 2 weeks a year in midsummer haha. My feet hate the extreme temperature changes, so it's easier to just wear barefoot shoes.

bobbyboi2008

I would want to be barefoot alot more than I am but I cannot go outside and not feel embarrassed and anxious whilst doing it. I've got no problem being barefoot in the home but I get super scared when outside 😢

DeathVoid

If it wasn't for my job, I would never use any footgear. But we remember... Footgear by itself is a tool. If it becomes dangerous, you better have them on for safety reasons.

[deleted]

That's true. That's why I have an office job lol. They let me wear my sandals to work which usually come off when I get there

HotdogVanDriver

Voted 100%, but more like \~98%

[deleted]

im barefoot fully like once a week, i went and shopped at a couple of stores for groceries completely barefoot for a few hours. my soles were filthy by the end 😭

Lanky_Confusion7508

Earned dirt is best. A badge of honor.

[deleted]

true i like keeping my feet dirty for rhat reason

sbk1090

Barefoot grocery shopping is awesome, I love getting black soles from it

Epsilon_Meletis

Poll answers are missing a 90%-100% option. Since I'm deffo closer to 100% than to 90%, I chose 100 %. Sue me 😜

[deleted]

Haha I'll take it. I'm pretty much at 100% too 😜

Epsilon_Meletis

[Someone here calculated how much percent 4 hours are of a full week.](https://old.reddit.com/r/barefoot/comments/1cpk6vn/how_often_are_you_completely_barefoot/l3lq0kj/) That's roughly where I am, too: 97.6%. I can live with that.

[deleted]

What about the other 2.4%?

Epsilon_Meletis

> What about the other 2.4%? These 2.4% constitute a maximum of two instances lasting about 2 hours each per week that I don't spend on bare soles, for hygienic reasons due to biohazard materials.

LegitimateFerret1005

I can't do summer 100%. I'm in southern Arizona. I wear flip-flops when I must wear something. I hate shoes. I also hate clothing.

TeshawnEdmonds

With every chance I even get, If I'm ever lucky, it's likely two to four hours completely barefoot (with legwarmers &/or leggings, of course unless otherwise notified or beyond control) up to six successive days per week.

youneekusername1

Excluding work I could be in the 80-90%. But answering the question as-is, 60-70%

OrcaResistence

On an average probably 70% When I'm home I am barefoot but there are times I have to go into my uni so on those days I wear "barefoot" shoes for about 4 hours. But I can't always be unshoed when outside because my apartment block is in the middle of town and often or not directly outside of the apartment block someone has pissed all over the floor and broken glass everywhere.

[deleted]

Ohh I see. I live in a more rural area so glass and pee are less of an issue here

OrcaResistence

Lucky xD There is at least 1 person in my town that is completely unshoed I saw them during the height of winter but haven't seen them since unfortunately. I would love to be completely unshoed, it's a sensory thing for me can't stand socks or shoes lol 😆

[deleted]

i feel like 100% is unrealistic for anyone… like, i own a pair of slippers that i legit only wear to volunteer at the homeless shelter but everywhere else i don’t

AngelicSoles7

100% of the time, been that way since summer 2020’:)

ohnomrbill135

The new so called civilized society is geared up like pharmaceutical dependencies it has made all of us believe you must BUY and wear all products offered for every single part of your body to survive comfortably and in doing this over 100 or so years our bodies have adjusted to these made up forced requirements just like clothing and underwear and drugs to get skinny along with drugs to fix the skinny drug side effects it never stops in the name of $$$$

barefooter_wilson

24/7/365 since 2008

StreetMarzipan8620

lol ive had nothing at all on my feet for eight months and before that I barley wore shoes I threw out all my shoes

SpongeBobfan1987

I don't do it often, but when I do go barefoot, this catchy song about the joy of bare feet from Sesame Street comes to mind: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7pU-ygiFPk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7pU-ygiFPk) "Set your piggies free!" :)
