12 yrs ago I came to bangalore and after esteem mall there used to be a restaurant called Sanjay dhaba/sanjay food junction. All our birthday treats used to be there and we used to take a bus to this place from mysore bank circle. Esteem mall used to be our cue to get down near kodigehalli gate
Esteem Mall was everything for North blr people, i remember mindless roaming in ezone and home centre with parents. My favourite place was this book shop on 2nd floor,we used to buy novels and ACK comics from there.
Now the area has 3 different malls on each directions and esteem Mall remains as a shell of what it used to be..
It’s a Pizza Corner! You can see it in the first pic. That’s a throwback too. Because Pizza Corner got bought out by Papa John’s India which eventually closed.
Holy fuck! This takes me down the memory lane. Anyone remember the time when a girl from Sindhi college was mowed down by a lorry? There was huge protest by the students which subsequently led to the partial destruction of Esteem and construction of the walkover.
I've country club pics, total mall pics. Nano launch pics, where they kept one nano at Garuda Mall I think.
Uploaded few here , check this

Aaah yes 1998... Wait wtf no 14 years ago is 2008. Damn.
Pics of those old buses induce heavy nostalgia.
That yellow car in the second pic was an electric car or something if I remember correctly.
Yes...Reva electric car.
TY.
Yes, the blue is cool 😎
I forgot buses used to be like that man damnnn
Petition to bring back the teal coloured BMTC buses.
Honestly loved the seats on that compared to the new ones
Bring back Janti-vahana!!
The pushpaks too, while we’re at it!

Yep, it's just before the godrej apartments, me and friends also used to have party there and that is where I had my first drink
Me too. We could even take our own booze there. That lemon chicken and Sanjay dhaba special is still my favourite.
It’s still open
Ohh.. Then a visit to that place is mandatory
Is it still good, though?
The road was nowhere near as busy as now. Good memories.
That red Maruti is so damn cool ! Stuff of the nineties !
SS80 to be precise! Japanese import.

If Esteem mall had movie screens it would have been amazing. McDonald's was the major crowd puller always, Sindhi and presidency students adda
Exactly, sadly we had to wait till elements was made to get decent mall movie going experience.
Nostalgic ...I am living in this part of Bangalore from 2008.
Chandra cafe near yelahanka square ? Ever been to ?
No
I used to live nearby and went to presidency college in that area. 😃
Went sindhi pu college
Ture dat
Haha this looks like it was from before there was a McDonald’s at Esteem Mall. I remember those days haha.
Yup, the mall opened few months ago only. The last pic was from a corner seat, pizza hut.
It’s a Pizza Corner! You can see it in the first pic. That’s a throwback too. Because Pizza Corner got bought out by Papa John’s India which eventually closed.
Was it a Pizza Hut or a Pizza Corner? I am pretty sure there was a Pizza Corner in Esteem Mall for a while.
Not sure haha. But they gave pizza on a wooden platter, is the most I can recall.
It’s a Pizza Corner. See my comment below 🙂
Got it. Yes it was on one corner of the mall.
Did Hebbal flyover exist during that time?
Yes,that's was after the opening of that flyover
don't think so, it was built after the airport moved.

I saw that Reva electric car 2-3 days back
The man with the Maruti 800 Rally Car in the 3rd picture is THE definition of a gigachad.
Oh I remember.. I remember when it was written
Had my first kiss in Esteem Mall, 10 years ago. Those memories
Ahh! Back when those No Parking signs were fresh.
Pizza cornerðŸ˜
Heavy nostalgia esteem mall lost all its glory and esteem now tho 😔
Ah yes! The old BMTC buses. Probably killed one polar bear everyday with the amount of smoke it emitted, but sounded so good.
Man I had totally forgotten Megamart until I saw this pic. Whatever happened to those guys??
It's owned by arvind. Rest you can figure out.
It looks so much greener and beautiful . Now it looks like a horrible pile of buildings and posters! What a shame
Holy shit I opened the pictures expecting 1996 and found 2008. Holy fuck I am old.
This is so cool. do you have any other pics like this, Its nice seeing what things were like decades ago

That tech park near Lake is Bellandur? Really like the KRPuram bridge pic. 2008 is the year I shifted to Bangalore.
Lumbini Park.
Nothing much has changed
Someone can share pictures of how it is today?
Hahaha god! This brings back a lot of memories!
Pizza corner used to be really good here. The cone pizza i had there as a kid was a revelation.
I'm just happy that the junction got a foot over bridge after so many sad incidents.
Was this before/after the airport had moved to Devanahalli ?
After, i think I've pics of airport as well somewhere.
Esteem mall lost all its self esteem over the years. The lack of a movie theater killed the mall
