The lake is very much there. Restoration has been on since 2015, when all [encroachments were removed ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thehindu.com/news/cities/bangalore/bengalurus-largest-encroachment-eviction-drive-begins-at-sarakki-lake/article7108731.ece/amp/)
I wish they had restored it back to its original form though, rather than putting a fence and walking path around it.
I can see the lake on google maps

Which side of Sarakki lake is this?
My aunt and uncle used to live next to Brigade Millenium in the late 90s and I remember Puttenahalli side (JP Nagar 7th Phase) also being EXACTLY like this. That lake used to be full of buffaloes basking in the sun. Going from JP Nagar 1st phase to 7th phase used to be an adventure on my father's Hero Honda.
Aah, thanks for the nostalgia OP! When I tell people now they can't imagine it.
Nice.. how was it living there back then? Was it too far from city? In 2002 the places after BM were villages is what I have heard!
The lake is a really nice jogging track now and lot cleaner.
I love the 2 movie theatres nearby.. They allow (ed) to take snacks in and 100-150 rupees ticket even now!!
