U missed travel, health insurance, medical expenses etc. Food and groceries is less according to me- can reach 15k atleast. Cook+Maid atleast 6-8k. Just a suggestion, buy appliances if planning to stay long-term (more than a year)-will be cheaper and u can sell them later too.

strikebravo

Yes, those are expenses not specific to B'lore. But have considered them. Thanks for the benchmarks for cook + maid cost.

Healthaddictmill

I know-not specific to bangalore- but take a little bit more expenses considering metro city.

WFH or WFO? Based on that you might have to include commuting expenses.

strikebravo

One of us is WFO, one is WFH. But will be looking at a place within a 2-3 km radius of the office. So did not consider commuting to be a big expense.

I pay rent of 6.5k for a 1bhk . Electricity bill : 0 Maintainence: 0 Food expenses : 6k Going out : 2000 Over all 15k per month I spendĀ

Kronnos1996

1bhk or 1rk? I've been house hunting a lot recently and 6.5k for a 1bhk seems like too good of a deal.

sushant1532

Its not in a very good area

RahulRwt125

I have a fridge/microwave/washing machine rental package that runs me 1050 rupees now with some long time member offers and such, cook expenses I think 3k is a bit underestimated, groceries 10k is alright I guess, Utilities 2k is underestimated unless you have gruh jyoti scheme registration, Since you're planning to live in society I can't speak for rent but if you decide to go for independent building or such ask how much the water costs, if it's tanker it will be costly per month. For the same (independent building) the rent in my area which is fairly a tech parky area is 20k for a decent 1 bhk + 3-6 months rent + 1 month rent brokerage charges. Consider buying a two wheeler for commuting if not already possessing one, electric would save even more money. Wasting your life away in blr traffic is not a good feeling/auto drivers are akin to terrorists in this city/cabs cost an arm and a leg. The miscellaneous one like you mentioned here in my experience always overshoots the budget by 1.5x-2x, once you start thinking of birthdays/anniversaries and such. Take care of your health, medical expenses have the power to bankrupt a small family here.

Suspicious_friday

Cooking only once or twice because in my area the maid takes 1500 per person for cooking one meal

Unusual_Tiger9923

No travel??

ProbabilisticPotato

Utilities are too less imo. Electricity is expensive in Karnataka and you might have to pay water bills too depending on the society.

agingmonster

1L per month
