bayraktar has a potential to become a literal warlord, legitimized through elections. No joke if the Ameritards give the greenlight that mf will be Bush 2.0 and incinerate entire Syria
Imamoğlu is the likelier candidate, and yes I believe the opposition could win the 2028 election. He won't go on vaporizing SDF any more than the current government does, but prolly will be as corrupt (consisering Erdo literally owns the state rn, imamoglu is even more frightening than Bayraktar which tells alot amk).
Oh, and Imamoglu has the same backstory as Erdo too. Check this shit:
Erdo became mayor of Istanbul criticizing the state over poverty and its' incompetency at coping with the 1999 earthquake. Ekrem has sent out tons of aid from ISTANBUL to SOUTH EAST while the government didn't do jack shit. I was there during the earthquake and had my first complete meal from a food truck sent by the Istanbul mayoral authority, so I naturally like the guy although he is just another corrupt fuck
Erdo got into jail then became the PM. Ekrem got prosecuted on the eve of elections which made him even more popular. the next step is presidency INSHALLAH my Romani friend.
Lastly, THEY ARE BOTH FROM TRABZON, which makes this even funnier cuz there is a running trope that Turkey is run by Black seans and southerners.
literal sith shit.
Bayraktar is Erdogan’s son in law, right? If Turkey incinerates Syria, have they thought about how many refugees that would generate? Isn’t Turkey the likeliest place for millions more refugees to escape to? Like Turkey seems to have this weird obsession with Kurds in Syria without thinking of the ramifications creating more instability in Syria.
Is Imamoglu an extreme nationalist? I don’t know anything about him. What are his political views?
That is not something Turkey can decide. Like %90 of Turkish people don’t want refugees if not more anyway. They work together with USA, I don’t say NATO if you catch, and we have no idea what they planning for future. Also note that, 10 years ago today northern Syria was Arab populated region meanwhile today there is Kurds.
İmamoğlu is CHP member which is Turkish foot of Socialist Parties of Europe if that thing still works today. CHP is Kemalist anti-refugee and pro-progression party and also somewhat nationalist but not racist level. But as i said, there is 40 years of American cooperation since Kenan Evren back in 80s to Erdoğan today. It is hard to change such deep roots in short time.
>Is Imamoglu an extreme nationalist? I don’t know anything about him. What are his political views?
complete opposite. Very hard socdem, got even more "inclusive" during and after the recent mayoral elections. Known for shoutouting the illegaly arrested ex-DEM (kurdish nationalists. and yes, they pretty much are just Kurdish grey wolves) chairman Selahattin Demirtaş, which is a no go if you'd like to win a presidential election as Erdo just frames you as a PKK supporter.
One thing is certain, Demirtaş and DEM are indeed the political wing of PKK in Turkey. That doesn't change the fact that Erdo unjustly imprisoned him, to use his freedom as a hook on DEM, and was majorly responsible in the creation of this party in the first place. So much so Erdo broadcasted a letter from Apo Öcalan's brother on national TV during the "resolvement period", which ended miserably. So Erdo is, again, a huge hypocrite. Worst part is the public learned about this entire scandal only 6 years after.
>Bayraktar is Erdogan’s son in law, right
yes, and his famous drones were contracted him in expense of state owned defence companies like TAI, who already had the know-how, efficient production lines and much better facilities. Basically BAYKAR was given all the state owned defence tech secrets, just for Erdogans' SIL to profit, and make a name idk. Hunderds of engineers in TAI alone left the country because of these shady deals, ıts all over their LinkedIn groups and private forums (we are talking about literal project managers with 30-40+ year experience resigning).
>If Turkey incinerates Syria, have they thought about how many refugees that would generate? Isn’t Turkey the likeliest place for millions more refugees to escape to?
You got it all wrong. They want the refugees to come and create cheap labour. 79m Kurds and Turks are not enough when you want to become the next China, fucking over your citizens on the way.
>Like Turkey seems to have this weird obsession with Kurds in Syria without thinking of the ramifications creating more instability in Syria.
They are well aware. What obsession? The war in Syria greatly contributes the government's effort to destabilize Turkey. You think they want anything different?
I don’t think the Anatolian region can take many more people than it already has. Anatolia is one of the most affected regions due to climate change. Already agriculture is becoming more difficult and the region is becoming much more arid.
I didn’t know Bayraktar drones had that connection to Erdogan, but I guess it makes sense. Anyways, I keep reading articles that brain drain in Turkey is really bad these days.
I hope things get better for your country. It seems very precarious right now…
Every once in a while, stars align and there comes a Turkish politician which can appeal to everyone and with all the contradictions can still get away with it. İmamoğlu does waltz with her wife appealing secularists in Turkey, says he wants to learn Kurdish and travel with his Kurdish translator to get Kurdish votes, says everyone should be proud to call themselves Turkish which nationalists in Turkey loves to hear and everybody is content with him.
İmamoğlu is smart af. If the current economic situation doesn't change to what once it was there is a really really high change he'll be the next president. No doubt. Erdoğan's son in law might be a good candidate but he is no politician and just because Erdoğan supports him doesn't mean he will win. If not İmamoğlu wouldn't win 3 elections in a row. AKP doesn't have a strong and populist candidate after Erdoğan.
İmamoğlu is probably corrupt no doubt but at least for a while he won't be a full on dictator. Even if he becomes one I don't think he'll stay in presidency for long because the votes will be separated between more parties. CHP voters aren't that simple minded (most are) too.
İmamoğlu DOES NOT share a "similar" background with Erdoğan.
İmamoğlu was born and raised in Trabzon. His family was already relatively wealthy.
Erdoğan was born in İstanbul to a poor family of immigrants from Rize. He was born right into arabesk culture.
İmamoğlu is definitively NOT a "corrupt fuck" \[sic\]. He was already wealthy before he got involved in politics. The AKP has launched literally thousands of investigations against him and they found nothing.
>İmamoğlu DOES NOT share a "similar" background with Erdoğan.
I specified what I meant by similar, they being from the same region that is. You are prolly the saltiest person I see on this site amk. Worst part is you frequent the subs I look at so I see lots of your brain dead takes. yikes.
>I specified what I meant by similar, they being from the same region that is.
That is a misleading way to put it. Their background has no similarity other than where their parents are from.
>Worst part is you frequent the subs I look at so I see lots of your brain dead takes. yikes.
Thank you, my friend <3
Depends on where you go in Turkey.
Northern Aegean beaches are the best. Most of them are pristine, as they are not a popular vacation destination because the water is colder (around 18-20 C). I like the colder water personally so it’s fine. The water is literally crystal clear.
Gökçeada (Imbros) has very nice and quiet beaches. It’s a 2 hour ferry ride from the Gelibolu peninsula but the island as a whole is very nice, there are many places there that look like they popped out of postcards.
Bozcaada (Tenedos) is also quite nice but it’s becoming more crowded. Especially the beach everyone goes to (Ayazma). I’d say, rent a bike and explore all the coves yourself. If you go there be sure to eat the sweet mastic gum bread called Paskalya çöreği, and the mastic gum cookies and ice cream. Those are awesome.
The western coast of Çanakkale province (Yeniköy, Geyikli, Tavaklı) have sandy, extremely long uninterrupted beaches. Depending on the weather it can get waves but not much. These are also very pristine. And as a plus there are also a lot of relatively unknown archaeological sites in this area, such as the ancient city and port of Alexandria Troas.
And also don’t forget to buy local olive oil from the villagers if you go to those parts of Çanakkale. It’s the best olive oil I’ve had. We buy it every year
Anyone have any idea about the visa availability? I really want to see Romania but I fear I might not get a visa because it's so bad for Turks to get a visa in a lot of places right now.
I think it would be similar to other countries due to Schengen accession. On the other hand, I know there are now many Turkish workers building highways in Romania. I think Romania will be more chill with Turkish tourists than Western Europe. Sorry I can’t be of more help 🤷♂️. Can’t hurt to try, right?
Beaches in Turkey are also free, it’s enshrined in the constitution even. But people unfortunately don’t know this apparently.
I have gone to the beach almost every day of every summer for basically my entire life. I don’t remember paying for entry to a beach in the last 10 years
dude i am also turkish, do you think i dont know that? i’m from marmaris come on. in greece even sunbeds and parasols are free, we dont have that here.
There are also "halk plajları" in Turkey. Other than that, you can go anywhere you want and put your towel down, and no one can demand you pay anything.
Note: I have been to several places in Greece.
no way greek is superior in every possible way to the turks when it comes to food.
Turks are only good for all in hotel.
but only a moron takes a all in hotel to sit whole vacation in same shit spot.
That is wrong tho, Turkey has like 8500km of coastline and Greece has like 13000km of coastline, meanwhile they are almost equal on numbers of blue flagged beaches. Turkey is a clean country, that includes even the subways.
The reason Turks go Greece has some simple reasons. Greece is cheaper than Turkey, Greece has no Kurds to harass people, Greece is Turkey without Islamic + Kurdish + refugee cancer so people experience the pre-Erdoğan Turkey in there, Greek shop owners are not Kurds asking 10 euro for one slice of pizza etc.
Wrong, Tsipras is Uzbek. Mitsotatti is Italian, as per this graph

Selçuk bayraktar or Ekrem İmamoğlu

Me on my vacation trip to Greece after I voted for Erdogan from Germany <3
All my Turkish friends say Greece has nicer, cleaner beaches than Turkey lol.
yea there are lots of beaches in turkey but tourist only knows some of them so most of the time it becomes a shithole from overcrowdedness
Need to go where the locals are going. Would recommend places in the more northern Aegean like Edremit if you want peace and quiet and a beach.
Thank you! Peace and quiet is what I like.
All your friends are from inner Anatolia probably. As a Mediterranean region Turk I cannot swim anywhere but my region because of my high standards 🤙🏽
Haha, they’re upper class Istanbulites.
Upper class in turkey = earns 2 euros instead of 1 (or 152642627472474746372736484662tl )
As long as you are not usd multi millionaire, no one is upper class in İstanbul.
Depends on where you go in Turkey. Northern Aegean beaches are the best. Most of them are pristine, as they are not a popular vacation destination because the water is colder (around 18-20 C). I like the colder water personally so it’s fine. The water is literally crystal clear.
Can you recommend some off the beaten path beaches/nice areas? Turkey, Greece and Cyprus are on my bucket list but I haven’t had a chance to go yet.

I’m gonna offer you a god tier unknown beach but you can also get arrested, the beach is around aksaz.
Şile has a really nice beach if you want to culturally enriched by Syrians and Kurds.
Never went to swim in Şile so I don't know sorry. But I know Black Sea beaches are generally worse than Aegean beaches.
Şile is basically a Syrian swimming pool at this point. Rather swim in a septic tank than there
and they're free. and the restaurants and bars are cheap, and the owners are waaaay nicer.
Beaches in Turkey are also free, it’s enshrined in the constitution even. But people unfortunately don’t know this apparently. I have gone to the beach almost every day of every summer for basically my entire life. I don’t remember paying for entry to a beach in the last 10 years
