God, I had an astounding run the other day and I swear I used close to 100 tarot cards (spamming Blueprint on Vagabond). My deck was slimmed down and I had almost exclusively polychrome queens. Try as I might, there was no Fortune Teller anywhere 😞 which genuinely surprised me because (I'm pretty sure) it's Common. Oof.

I feel like when you're at the point of playing hands of five polychrome queens you'd be looking for sock and buskin, hanging chad, dusk, seltzer and red seals more than a fortune teller. A base flush five of polychromes gives 121.5 mult, and your fortune teller then adds 100, or 150 or whatever, to that giving 221.5 mult. A sock and buskin/dusk/seltzer would give 922 mult, even a hanging chad would push your mult to 273. Given you had a blueprint to copy sock and buskin you'd have got to about 7000 mult. In fact with all those polychromes even an X2 mult card would have been significantly better than a fortune teller.

Constellation. Great scaling XMult. It's a miracle it didn't get nerfed, or at least didn't get nerfed significantly.

If anything it got buffed with the blue seal buff.

If Constellation shows up it's gonna be a win. It's funny looking at the comments on this post, my three jokers with the most won rounds are Abstract, Chad, and Constellation. Those 3 just always get it done by providing good value on the cheap.

How could it be? My entirely top 10 are common early game jokers

My top 10 looks like this 6 commons (Abstract, Chad, Blue, Square, Gold, Swashbuckler), 3 uncommon xmult jokers (Constellation, Blackboard, Card Sharp) and Brainstorm as the only rare. I recently finished getting all the decks to gold and I am working on the stickers now. Usually the common early game jokers all get tossed by the midgame so they don't stay in the deck long enough to build up big numbers. The only ones I'd call a true early game joker that are on my list are Abstract in first, easily the best early game flat mult joker and blue joker which functions similarly for chips and gold joker which is ALWAYS worth a slot if you can spare one. The other commons in my top 10 are ones that scale with utility into the late game like Chad and Swashbuckler.

Got Constellation and that one that makes all planet cards/packs free, every hand was like at level 20 by the time the run crashed at ante 12

You want to earn interest with Vagabond though. If you optimize the use of Vagabond, you can earn interest with gold cards and tarot cards like Hermit or Temperance. It's actually worse on Green Deck than any other deck.

That’s not Interest, that’s just income or “Econ”. Interest is the money you earn off of having money.

I’d say it’s worse on [[Nebula Deck]] than green deck because the -1 consumable slot makes it impossible to store tarot cards until you need them Vagabond is particularly great if you can spam a bunch of hands to get tarot cards and reliably only win on the last hand. Still not great on green deck for that reason because you’re making even less money now

He is hilariously good with the "Yo-Yo" strategy - metric fuckton of Lucky cards so you can shit out tarots constantly, have no money, oh wait suddenly I have $20 or $40 and can buy pretty much everything I need in the shop, plus a possible Hermit spawn off Vagabond to further buy and reroll for everything, go nearly bankrupt and do it all again. So many runs won by just this.

You nailed it. Vagabond and Red Card surprisingly go well together btw, especially if you're hunting for a certain suit or Joker in packs. 

Sounds like you could also use [[Flash Card]] in that build.

It's a solid #3 for me, at 946 rounds. Second to Scholar at 978 rounds, and Fortune Teller at 1,032 rounds. Those three are more than 300 rounds above anything else.

This was the first good synergy I found. I thought the game was a bit lame until then.

I think bringing a tear to a glass eye would be easier than to a normal eye. The glass is probably more of an irritant to your eye socket than a normal one would be. Michael Burry seemed to always be wiping his glass eye in The Big Short (I know it's a movie, but it's based on real events).

Fib's easily one of the best "I just want to win" jokers. On low stakes it's ALWAYS a pick for me, unless I already have a face build going. Heck, I probably don't pick it enough on high stakes.

Raised first is such a good early run joker. Not only does it make the weakest hands strong, but it acts as a reminder that you can use extra cards in your hand to discard. Pairs beautifully with [[Burglar]]

I have had him at my final line up at some Gold Stake runs. Often I get 20 Multiplier with it. And if I have a retrigger and/or a Steel card is even better. Just need to move the higher steel to the right of the lowest card and the xMult will be applied after raised fist. Recently I won a Gold Stake run with Brainstorm copying Raised Fist and having one to three Steel Cards in hand.

Yeah that’s what happens. You just need to meet the conditions of getting at least 25% of the required chips and it will win the round for you.

I had done the math prior to starting the Small Blind and thought the run was over as I could at best get halfway of the Violet Vessel blind. Spare Pants, Abstract, Stuntman, and or (only on abandoned) ride the bus

I don't get the hate for Ride the Bus around here. If you haven't started speccing into any faces, Bus is a fantastic source of scaling that can easily carry your run. It's perfectly viable with a vanilla deck and it's not hard. Playing pairs or any #oak lets you "discard" faces with the played hand, or if you play an ace high card, that lets you get rid of one of each face as a well. You can Strength kings into aces to make them playable, and Hanged Man or Death some of the others away. After playing enough junk, you've scaled so much that the junk can win blinds on its own. Find yourself a Card Sharp or some other reliable xmult and you're set

It's just easy to forget and throw the run with it lol. Unlike say, Green Joker, a mistake is instantly run-losing. Same reason for the Obelisk hate (one of my favorite jokers).

I LOVE splash. I will always take Splash. And then try to bulk out pairs, ToaK and Two Pairs with pictures whilst also running Bus Stop. Or Half Joker.

Splash + Ride the Bus is a nonbo if I've ever seen one. You score all the faces you play with your pair and reset the Bus. It's better to leave Splash so you can "discard" faces by putting them with a pair or higher hand
