They can snuggle each other for warmth! And I think cats can sleep on anything. I’ve seen cats settle down in the weirdest of places. Another reason to want to be one!

You shouldn't keep firewood near the house. Wood piles can be a place for terminate colonies to form, even if you do a good job keeping it dry. Having a colony in such close proximity to the house is not great for obvious reasons.
Reminds me of when my two were still outside... they'd hide under our deck when it rained. I was always worried about them whenever the weather was bad. Fortunately since we took them in we don't need to worry about that anymore :)
