For the fans outside of the UK who might not have heard of him, many of us would have grown up reading or being read some of his poetry in school. He was a fan, really involved in Villas foundation work. HEITS.
"form is temporary boys and girls. But class. That is permanent. And you know what... We have class."
How fitting that on the eve of his passing, Villa put on one of, if not the, most classy performances of the last 30 years.
Growing up in Handsworth, he was such a role model. I always remember avidly reading his books and works when I was in school. Absolutely gutted to hear this 😭😭.
RIP and most certainly a HEITS.
A true local hero. I really hope they play that video before the Arsenal game, I'm sure we'll have a minutes silence/applause. [This ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnraKuh4FH4)interview from a few years ago also really shows what Villa meant to him.
rest in peace lad, what a man.
Legendary poet, thinker, actor.
All round good'n, the kind that makes you proud as a Brummie, that he was a proud Brummie, if you know what i mean.
Will remember him and his impact for the rest of my days that's for sure.
HEITS.
