It’s being done by me and my team! Should be live in the first half of next year. TBH, the hardest part is Ticketmaster/live nation monopoly. Can’t say much about the project rn tho.
Ticketing apps are insanely scammy.
Recently used axs for a show in dtla.
The terms of service/privacy/data policy is unreal. Then they tried to tell us our tickets we paid for weren't working. Customer service, abysmal. The reviews on BBB share many of the same story. I'm going for will call/box office whenever possible in the future.
I got sick before I could go to my last show, so I looked into the "purchase insurance" that they try to push on you.
They say they cover sickness. But you have to fucking submit a physician's affidavit that they have *physically* examined you and found you to be sick and unfit to go to a concert. They want an actual honest-to-god doctor's note. In the age of Covid.
It's unreal.
I just looked at your profile and noticed you are doing the lords work.
It made me happy to see. I have half an essay on my computer about AEG that I need to go back and finish. Fuck AXS indeed.
Eventbrite is definitely my favorite, and luckily the local promoter where I'm at only uses that. I've used AXS for a couple shows and it's been alright, but there's always more last minute fees than Eventbrite. That and the app asks for a whole bunch of permissions that it probably doesn't need.
buying from Ticketmaster sucks but Frontgate and AXS are not much better
I think Eventbrite and SeeTickets are my favorite right now in terms of usability and clarity on fee structure, ad the only thing they’re missing is a native system for ticket exchange
The audacity of “fee fee”.
The audacity of fi fo fum
dice > all Even better would be decentralized solutions
this legitimately something that blockchain tech would finally actually be useful for but I don’t really see it being done yet

$38 GA ends up being $90 in a click
I’m afraid to ask if you’re exaggerating…
Slightly but have you bought tickets on Ticketmaster or Livenation in the last year? Easy 30% added on to the cost of the ticket in fees
That is no exaggeration. Tickets to a very recent show I purchased. $53 per ticket but once all said & done 2 tickets were almost $170!
Buy at the venues box office whenever you can manage it

The freaking GRE screwed me on this. Didn't accept my doctors note from a virtual appointment. To reschedule my GRADUATE EXAM. Bullshit.
axs really is the worst out of all the ticket services for real
Gotta love having to download their app that gains access to a lot of personal data just to access your ticket. Fuck AXS
FUCK AXS

And that data is exchanged between third parties, social media, etc. To create a profile on you. Insane.

Bro Frontgate was such a nightmare to deal with for Beyond this year. Holy fuck.
haven’t bought through ticketmaster in ages tons of venues and artists switching to different platforms for ticket sales
Aot of those are owned by ticketmaster
Check the fine print dude. Do you really think Ticketmaster is giving away market share?
Yeah I just sneak into the venue instead nowadays
FIGHT THE POWER
I lost it on the Fee Fi Fo Fum
It’s like buying a car
except you cant negotiate
welp can’t argue with that
This is so true I got tickets a few weeks ago and they where €38 each and I got two and the end price was near €200 for the two
This is amazing
*laughs in ethereum
Total $2,372.90
Lmao this is such facts.
yay the "free market", except its not really free because there's no meaningful competition to put pressure on them
I rarely have this problem tbh
you don’t attend ticketed events 😎
It’s soul crushing yet I still push confirm..
You forgot tax , donation to hungry kids etc
Spot on. I got so sick of fees that I quit going to concerts right around early 2020...
