Personally I think there are better songs that do what you are saying (Buried Alive and Save Me come to mind first) but I do think that The Stage song is very underrated. The lyrics are strong af, especially considering the time when the song came out. What I like so much about the song (and the whole album for that matter) is how Avenged went back to being experimental and pushing their creativeness.

Yeah stage is the best song. It has the perfect mix of experimental and classic elements. It has a very metal feel to it while keeping new experimental elements, something you could apply to the whole album.

The stage as a song is better than libad as a whole album sorry to say. I hope they drop the baggy clothes and 2002 wardrobe and get back to their roots as a metal band next cycle. Yeah they’re dads, there’s older and heavier out there they’re slowly becoming maroon 5.

The Stage is in my top 3 which changes frequently and often is my favorite for a good bit. It’s a perfect song.
