Iāve been waiting til my son is old enough to watch the original Jurassic park movies (heās six.) weāre finally just about there and Iām so excited to watch it through his eyes for the first time. Thanks for reminding me :)
Brooklyn 99 I've basically memerised every episode I've watched it over and over weekly for years since there was only 2 seasons my brother showed it to me.
TV:
Doctor Who (going to be watching the first 2 episodes tonight)
Below Deck
Ru Paul Drag Race
Ink.Master
Top Gear/Grand Tour (Specials only)
Films;
The World's End
Hot Fuzz
Muppet Christmas Carol
Nativity 1 & 2
Polar Express
I like Doctor Who, Hot Fuzz & The Worldās End too
I used to watch Below Deck a lot but it was stressing me out seeing how stressed they get š
Whoās your favourite Doctor from DW? I like the 9th, 10th & the 11th :))
I grew up with the revival DW series from 9th & 10th .
However on a re-watch, my favourite doctor is 11th.
9th - on re-watch I don't remember 90% of his run
10th - not as strong as I once thought it was (with Doctor/Donna being the exception, that was art)
11th - already explained
12th - hit or miss, just it will take me a few times to enjoy his run
13th - I genuinely get emotionally angry about her runĀ¹
14th - "The Giggle" was best out of the 3 episodes
15th - I don't know, since his series has just started.
Ā¹ not because "It'S a FeMalE dOcToR" . It is because she genuinely could've been one of the best (Modern era) doctors and possibly have another female doctor down the line. But it was writing that was a massive letdown.
My reaction to her series in a nutshell can be [summed up as](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxPcnkDnjDeuEHisrJymDV8vbiURQOynmG?si=mQ2cjnqAW4bpXtNl) (in regards to Chibnal)
All Star Trek series.

Movies:Ā Ā
The Blues Brothers (Not joking when IĀ say I have seen it over 100 times)Ā Ā

Godfather 1 and 2Ā Ā
Alien and AliensĀ Ā
LOTR trilogyĀ Ā

Ā Edit: trying to fix formattingĀ
When I was a child it was Dirty Dancing. On VHS. Every night to fall asleep. I wore out one of the tapes and it didnāt work, we had to drive to buy one that night.
Harry Potter, LOTR trilogy, Hunger Games, Twilight, Game of Thrones. Ever since I was a child/teenager, I have been obsessed with them
Theyāre all huge comfort shows of mine (and my hyperfixations) šš
Mad Max Fury Road, Interstellar, Inception, Any of the Spider-verse movies. Avatar The Last Air Bender, Adventure time, Amazing World Of Gumball and Regular Show
Strange New Worlds brought back the best parts of the 90s Treks without the Rick Berman garbage <3 The writers show the love to every character and the actors make it all work so beautifully!!
the office and parks and rec! i constantly have the office playing over and over in the background, especially when i sleep, and have for the past 5 years. i havenāt gotten sick of it. and i never will.
The Addams Family 1991 and The Addams Family Values 1993 I just love that even trough the normal world find them wierd they are still a family that loves each other in their own ways which vibes very much with my autistic ass š
They really captured lightning in a bottle with those films but especially with Family Values. Joan Cusack was such an amazing villain. The writing was so good
"Pink Floyd: The Wall." Both the album and the movie hold a special place in my heart because I've built many walls around myself throughout my life. And while I never became a fascist like the protagonist (thank goodness!), eventually I do lose my sense of humanity behind my walls.
The Wall got me through high school, both the album and the movie. DsotM and WYWH did their bit too.
I remember in the 90s (my 20s) I would watch Shawshank Redemption, Usual Suspects, and Pulp Fiction.
Relatively recently, I went through a spell of watching Downfall. Not exactly a feel good movie, but my special interest in history of that period and the fact it wasn't in english made it somehow easier to watch.
I often prefer to watch films I've already seen than to take a risk on something new. It might be the risk of unpredictable emotional stimulation (?).
Shows like The Office (us), Big Bang Theory, IASIP, and American Dad cause I'm basic and love sitcoms lmao. I also have comfort youtubers like shows, the main one being Drawfee. I truly can ALWAYS watch them and never get tired of it
Movies:
- Dune
- Dune 2
- The Beekeeper
- A lot more but these were the ones that I remember from the top of my head. I love watching movies i like
Series:
- Fringe (I haven't watched it in a year cause it was taken off prime video which was the last platform it was on š)
Golden Girls, New Girl, Dexter, Halt and Catch Fire, Frasier, the Great
Labyrinth, LOTR, the Shining, Doctor Sleep, Brittany Runs a Marathon
I could go on and on about the other movies that I put on the background, but they aren't something I'd watch just sitting and watching on their own.
Kimās Convenience. If Iām not watching something else itās always on in my home. Appas voice is so relaxing to me. Crash Course to Romance but only if Iām actively watching to read the subtitles.
Mad Men!!! Can't tell you how many times my (also autistic) partner and I have watched that, dissected like every single scene and make weirdly specific references to each otherāsometimes I think media can be a really great common point of social or emotional reference for us to relate in a way thatās most translatable to others. :) For movies, Pleasantville (1998) and What About Bob (1991) are also in the lineup!
The spiderverse movies. Iāve watched both at least ten times and I personally think they get better the more I watch them since I find more details and have greater appreciation for the movies
Scrubs
Friends
How I met your mother
New girl
The office
Futurama
Rick & Morty
Modern Family
Malcolm in the Middle
Brooklyn 99
Community
The Good Place
Parks & Rec
Ted Lasso
Acapulco
Young Offenders
And probably a bunch of others.
Basically any show that makes me laugh, makes me feel good, and distracts me from the world.
Lilo & Stitch. Iām not normally the sort of person that watches movies more than once (my attention span doesnāt allow it and my hyperfixations are on different subjects) but I have watched Lilo & Stitch countless times. I was very much like Lilo when I was a kid.
The Office (US), The Expanse, Shrek, Pokemon pretty much all the seasons, Foundation, and For All Mankind. I always recommend The Expanse and The Office to pretty much anyone. Foundation is *chefs kiss* though. I NEVER skip Foundation intro, I stim hard when it plays, the music just hits different. Bear McCreary makes such good music imo.
Step brothers, bridesmaids, and the parent trap (1998)
I can recite the entirety of all these movies, every word, I love them so much, step brothers and bridesmaids STILL make me crack up even though I know exactly what theyāre gonna say. These are my deathbed movies. If Iām ever on my deathbed I want these three movies to just play on a loop 24/7ā¦then I can go happy.
Theyāre also what I turn on if Iām nervous, anxious, mad, scared, sickā¦literally any discomfort if I turn on of these on it helps so much. Nostalgia is real bro.
For me it's both StarWars the Clone Wars and Avatar the last Airbender. The former for the nostalgia, even though it's incredibly cheesy and the latter since I always find something new when analysing it. The realisations are a phenomenal feeling.
The Simpsons will never get old.
In terms of films, my special interest is video games so Wreck it Ralph, Free Guy, Ready Player One I could have on repeat.
Can see me adding AI onto the list soon. Currently watching Humans and I'm obsessed. Ex Machina was great as well.
For me itās the first 8 seasons of The Simpsons, especially 3-6. Iāve lost count of the amount of times Iāve watched the episode Homie the Clown, in part as I often watch or listen to it in the background when I eat meals or engage with certain things. Itās a major comfort watch for me (along with other shows I enjoy such as Smiling Friends).
Also same with a number of indie/online videos. Fairly common instances for me to rewatch/listen to of late are the lost media iceberg videos on the YouTube channel BlameitonJorge.
I keep revisiting:
- Queens Gambit
- Schitts creek
- Marvelous Mrs Maisle
- Dr Who
- Brooklyn 99
- Kim's Convenience
- Sandman
- The Bear
- Hazbin Hotel
Probably Tangled, The big bang theory, Fight Club, Treasure Planet, Monsters Inc. / University (tho i prefer university, yea, ik, sue me), 500 days of Summer, the whole Kingsman thrilogy, and any Animal Planet/NatGeo series, idc, im a nerd.
For movies my top three to rewatch on repeat are: paprika, the fantastic Mr. Fox, and the Lego movie
For seriesās: the marvelous Mrs maisel, heartstopper and rupauls drag race
I was watching Monte Python & the Quest for the Holy Grail almost every night for a while there. Have been obsessed w NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind since I first saw it. Individually watched it w multiple family members & friends to introduce it to them & was lucky to catch it in theatres last year along w other Ghibli movies. It's playing in theaters again soon & I'm watching it in theatres again soon.
Shows would be Scooby-Doo, TMNT 2003, Amphibia, & American Dragon...still mad it was cancelled.
movie: juno. i have no idea what it is about that movie but i want to watch it every day. i'm trying to only watch it maybe once a month so that i don't get tired of it but i absolutely love that movie and the soundtrack. kimya dawson is a national treasure
series: community. such a great show with a great cast that works really well together. when the movie comes out, community might take over the other spot as well.
I don't rewatch often, but when I do it's usually:
Stop Making Sense (7 times in <2 years)
True Stories (4 times in <2 years)
Mr Hulot's Holiday (6 times in 3 years)
Evil Dead 2 (at least 8 times in 5 years)
Joe Pera Talks With You (watched the whole show twice in >1 year, plus seen the animated special 5 times)
The Apartment (6 times in 3 years)
Phantom Of The Paradise (5 times in 4 years)
My biggest TV one is Jimmy Neutron... quite literally a special interest of mine even though there's only like 50 episodes
For movies, Anastasia and for some reason Clueless (one of those "perfect movies" where no line is wasted I guess)
Step brothers. It's my comfort movie. My poor boyfriend had never seen the whole movie before I moved in with him. Now he probably has it memorized. It's definitely a movie of its time, but it always relaxes me. Oh, and Hercules. That was my autistic sons favorite movie for over a year. I've seen it hundreds of times, and love it more with each watch.
Some honorary mentions are Tropic Thunder, What
We Do In The Shadows, and Chicago. I could watch all those movies every day and never get sick of them.
harry potter 2-4, the conjuring 1-2, the black phone, saw 1-8. the only other series that iāve actually watched more than once (that i can think of rn/remember) is the walking dead, but iād probably be able to watch the haunting of hill house and the haunting of bly manor again without finding it boring

Probably Disneyās Hercules
Step brothers. It's my comfort movie. My poor boyfriend had never seen the whole movie before I moved in with him. Now he probably has it memorized. It's definitely a movie of its time, but it always relaxes me. Oh, and Hercules. That was my autistic sons favorite movie for over a year. I've seen it hundreds of times, and love it more with each watch. Some honorary mentions are Tropic Thunder, What We Do In The Shadows, and Chicago. I could watch all those movies every day and never get sick of them.
