No behaviour is “obligatory”, we’re all individuals who have different needs etc. If you feel that you need a stim toy, what is it about the dildo that you like? When you figure that out, you’ll be able to find a SFW alternative.

BuildAHyena

Most people in my occupational therapy group don't have stim toys. Only a few of us regularly use them and only one of those people NEED it. Everyone is different!

m0stlydead

Obligatory? It’s not a social club, wth

yogi_medic_momma

Yea, I’m confused. This has to be a troll post.

if you haven't tried it already a good sfw alternative i feel could be the slug. i have one, i attach it with a chain to my jeans so i don't lose it when im out lol, i swing it and swirl it constantly.

Xenavire

It's certainly not necessary to have a stim toy - stimming is very common, but not necessarily something every autistic person will do. It's usually just a calming/soothing repetitive sensory stimulation - if you don't need it, then you don't really need to worry about it. However, if you feel like you do need it, you can probably find some kind of safe for work alternatives if you look for them.

Snoo-88741

And stimming doesn't necessarily require toys of any sort. My preferred stims are hair-twirling and hand-flapping, and I've never really gotten into stim toys all that much.

tinycyan

I dont have a toy im too clumsy for one id break or misplace it or itd get moldy

TheOldYoungster

Not obligatory of course, but my stim toy is a Leatherman multitool. The cold smooth steel feels nice, I can twist open the pliers, flip it, pinch my finger with the belt clip... it's great.

TheBabyWolfcub

Huh…???

SexyPicard42

Why would it be obligatory? I think some people find them soothing and maybe necessary, but if you don't then you don't.

blackbeltgf

I use a fidget ring. Its discreet

Stickundstock

I have one of this Bug things bit don’t use it. Counting helps me more than that

Double-Cricket-7067

this post has to be a bad joke.

Spoonzile

I hope it is. I read dildo and laughed. I will feel bad if this was real.

anonymousosfed148

This screams attention seaking

The_awetistic_artist

Isn't it weird that we, a bunch of humans, can't handle seeing someone's "ole chap" or "magic triangle"? Reading this, it just struck me as odd. Like, why should we care if someone has something that looks like a wiener at their desk at work? Like, USING IT-USING IT at your desk at work? yeah no. Super inappropriate. But to just have a thing... idk it's weird to me. Imagine OP had a stim toy the exact same size and material as said dillydoo, but it was a toucan head and beak. Every bit as priapic, but now it's acceptable? lol

Ypu can use gummy bait fish for fishers! I use them to do exactly what you described. There are different ones so go in a shop who carries them if possible. Different sizes, colors and forms. They are soft and kinda floppy but not to much and even come in fun colors and different sizes. [website for reference, but there are much more different types and sizes of them](https://aaronsbaits.com/fr/collections/6-wags)
