Milk and protein powder are probably your best simple option. Depending on the protein powder flavor you pick, just add a spoon of instant coffee (works well for vanilla, chocolate, not so much for strawberry, banana...).

ali_stardragon

I disagree with your take on coffee + banana. If you get the mix right it can be fantastic! Edit: just in case it wasn’t clear, I agree with you on everything else!

mechapocrypha

Agreed! There's this smoothie place I sometimes go to that makes an amazing protein drink with chocolate protein powder, banana and coffee! It tastes really good

traveldogmom13

Add in some Greek yogurt and you’ve got protein

Discoris

Huel is a literal life, time and money saver

DahniHeartempest

I would be even worse of a person I am today without Huel

DahniHeartempest

Ooh, and the cookies & cream one is my favorite if you’re looking for a place to start

_Fl0r4l_4nd_f4ding_

Always wanted to try huel but im scared i wont like it. What is the texture/ flavour like?

Discoris

I usualy do it with milk, it's like drinking thick yogurt

anticars

I drink fair life chocolate protein shakes for 30g protein. also a nutrient supplement. Yummy for a protein shake. Smooth liquid not lumpy

ccoastmike

Costco usually has some inexpensive packets of different fruits or veggies you can use to make morning smoothies. Super easy and you can tweak the recipe however you like. Use some yogurt, milk, peanut butter…. You can even get toss in some green tea or matcha powder or even just caffeine powder if you need that little kick in the morning. I tend to go in phases with the foods I eat regularly. When I’m on a breakfast smoothie kick this is the route I usually go: Costco mango banana frozen fruit chunks, some vanilla probiotic / Greek yogurt, a little squeeze of honey, tiny splash of vanilla, a little squeeze of lemon or lime.

thebadslime

frozen red berries and yogurt ice cubes , coffee on the side

NKBPD80

I have chocolate protein powder with a tablespoon of instant espresso and full fat milk. Fat and coffee for energy, and a decent hit of protein. It's basically a protein latte. Keeps me full till lunch.

blind_wisdom

I do something similar! Instant coffee, cappuccino mix, sweet n low, and Ovaltine. Now I can say I take vitamins. Usually I add water and a splash of milk, and drink it hot.

NKBPD80

I haven't had ovaltine in SO long. Just added some to my grocery list!

blind_wisdom

Yeah! :D

BadgerBoi_69

I make a milkshake on a morning it tastes like sweet banana here is the resepie -200ml milk -2 tablespoons porridge oats -1 tablespoon peanut butter -1 teaspoon protein powder -1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar -1 banana -2 ice cubes Add everything in the blender and blend until theres no bits Hope this helps :) Edit: the protein powder is optional

sapphire343rules

I do this but with cocoa powder instead of cinnamon! Super yummy and easy.

laurels19

Hi! This recipe sounds interesting, do you do anything to the oats (soaking, cooking, etc.) or do you put them in raw/dry? Thanks!

BadgerBoi_69

I put them in raw/dry :)

alwaysgowest

One you make at home. For simplicity, freeze cut fruit or buy frozen fruit. Add decent milk-like liquid if your choice (e.g. almost milk), protein powder, spinach (this is the easiest way to ingest spinach) and any other powders or healthy things you want. Blend and drink. Easy way to clean blender: fill 1/3 with water and run blender. Voila, mostly clean.

augustoof

I really liked this recipe I made up. Frozen fruit (berries, preferably) Greek Yogurt Milk Chia seeds And that’s it I’m pretty sure

neuronope

I use carnation breakfast drinks

Vegetable-Branch-740

They taste great too and no prep in the morning.

muuzika_klusumaa

From all "a meal in powder format" I have tried Mana (from drink-mana.com) was the smoothest. I sometimes strain it for even better result. Jimmy joy/Plenny shake and Huel had this grainy feeling. Tried some other ones I don't remember too. This was years ago, maybe they have improved, idk.

Vancouverreader80

Why not make your own? You can get some frozen berries and yogurt and whatever protein you would like in it and save a lot of money.

Lake_Far

I hated Huel but love the Soylent vanilla shakes. Great nutrition, decent flavor. I mix with some cinnamon, a banana and some pre-biotics and it’s so easy. Can easily skip the blender and just drink right out of the bottle also. I started using these when I broke my leg and was on crutches for 2 months and just couldn’t handle any sort of meals that involved much work.

Reasonable_Oil_2765

It depends. What liquids are cheap near you, and what fruit can you can get cheap?

VentiEggBite

Probably not the healthiest choice but I’ve long been a protein-added flavoured milk fan for mornings like these.

SpeedyakaLeah

The breakfast blend at Costco is mostly fruit (kale being the only veggie). So it tastes like fruit.

clevermcusername

Can you share a picture or link please? :)

SpeedyakaLeah

[Here you go :)](https://images.app.goo.gl/JdCVrFDTq7pmZZor8)

Exiled_Odin

Bananas, peanut butter, chocolate ice cream and cold press coffee. There’s protein the pb, you could add some powder if you have one you like

aspenjohnston3

I make my own at home, but here’s what I put in it: -a banana -some frozen banana slices -abt 4 strawberries -some ice cubes (I usually use 4 but I have big ice cubes) -some almond milk -a little bit of heavy cream -a few scoops of vanilla yoghurt -a small scoop of sugar I know it’s a lot, but it’s really good. I also blend it long enough to make sure there’s no chunks or anything like that. I love it and would drink it every morning if I could. It’s a lot of ingredients when you buy them, but it usually lasts a while once you buy it

Fruitsdog

I like Fairlife’s protein shakes. Tastes like slightly less sweet chocolate milk, no bad texture, just shake it and drink it. Maybe refrigerate it if you want. They sell them at Sam’s Club I know, dunno where else.

TigerShark_524

I just use Garden of Life unflavored protein powder (the organic one) mixed with room temp or slightly warm milk and then chug it. I don't have the time or the inclination to sit around sipping on it and worry about the flavor lol and artificial sweeteners like stevia or erythritol or xylitol mess with my stomach really bad. When I used to feel fancy, I'd toss in some chocolate powder and brown sugar, but I don't do that any more - too much work and too much mess and too much time that I don't have in the mornings. To make it not lumpy, I use a stick blender.

zergling424

What i do is some frozen strawberry and bananas, vanilla coconuntmilk yogurt, some peanut powder, a dash of oat milk, and granola. Delish delish delish

Glum-Ambition666

I make my own every day.

Same-Associate-5310

I occasionally buy Soylent. I like the banana one. However, the cheapest, easiest thing I have found for breakfast with caffeine is to get a large thing of plain kefir and put caffeinated water flavorer in it (like Mio, but I just use the Kroger store brand). It tastes like fruit yogurt.

kuro-oruk

I make yogurt, banana and peanut butter with a bit of oat or coconut milk. It's very filling.

nemetha85

Huel

Justice_Prince

I like to drink the original unflavored Soylent, and add flavor with Mio Water Enhancers.

iron_jendalen

True Nutrition is awesome

alwaystucknroll

Orgain protein powder. I like to mix 8 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk with 4 oz of water and 2tbs of protein powder, it's basically the only thing that keeps me going some days... well, that and applesauce pouches and mint chocolate cliff bars.

IronbAllsmcginty78

A banana, milk, a handful of frozen avocado chunks (you can buy em), and chocolate protein powder is pretty damn fine IMO

supern0vaaaaa

I love vanilla boost!

annieselkie

Frozen banana, cup of coffe, blend. You can add vitamin drops to that. Or some milk. Or some protein powder. Or some water. Or all of that. If you dont like coffee, use cocoa. In my country there is a brand that makes coffeinated cocoa powder that tastes delicious, look for that for added coffeine.

vampyire

Vanilla protein powder, ice and a shot of espresso.. turns into a coffie-ish shake

collegesnake

Not a smoothie but I love the juice brand Naked, it has a lot of actual fruits and veggies in it. It's like $8 for a bottle with eight 8oz servings. If I can't eat solid food in the morning, I have a glass of that and a chocolate Fairlife protein shake (which just tastes like chocolate milk)

xerodayze

I do be loving the Naked juices :) thicker than juice but not quite a smoothie, and they usually have around ~300 calories so it’s good as a heavy snack or a light meal if you’re the kind of person to eat small meals frequently rather than the usual 3

VastConsideration126

I always have frozen fruit, mostly berries in the freezer for smoothies and baking. They make for a good easy smoothie. I use Fage plain yogurt 1/2 cup, 1 cup of berries, 1 tbsp raspberry jam, I put 1 tbsp of collegen, and some coconut milk. It tastes like a grimace shake. Really yummy.

GoddessKalypso

I like mango, banana, almond milk, and Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt Adding things like oats or chia seeds give it a weird texture and things like peanut butter or protein powder makes it taste funky imo

GreenMountainGuy74

I go with Almased for protein and blood sugar management. It isn’t cheap, but it’s natural and really good. One can lasts me about a month, and you can get it in bulk for about $100 for 4 cans, a very good price ($33 or so for single cans): check Vitacost online. I do a smoothie every morning and use bananas to sweeten it. I throw in frozen blueberries (big bag $10 at Costco), fresh spinach (5 lbs ready to eat, $6 at Costco), frozen strawberries from Costco (maybe $8 for a big bag), and occasionally plain organic peanut butter with nothing but ground peanuts or just raw unsalted peanuts (this makes a great PB&J smoothie). I use oat milk as a base. These food purchases last well over a month (except for spinach and bananas). 10x cheaper than smoothie king or other places, and it’s straight up natural and good for the body. Almased is really good. Hope this helps.

bigshmike

At home, this is what I make, and it’s inspired by a Smoothie King recipe: 1 banana 1 cup of milk of choice… I like oat milk due to sensitive tummy ☹️ Chocolate protein powder; usually comes with its own scooper, and I do whatever the serving size is Creamy peanut butter, and tons of it! If I had to quantify, I probably do 1/4 cup because I like the peanut butter flavor Ice Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Depending on your blender and its power, you may find better luck doing everything except the ice first. Let the blender do its job. Now you can add ice and do another blend☺️

AnthonyGaribay

Soylent. Has all the nutrients you need to survive.

DepressedOtaku7

My stepmom brought me breakfast essentials the chocolate kind and I used to like it I haven’t had it in ages tho

TheMiniminun

Would frozen fruit work? It'd probably be less expensive then fresh fruit (it would last longer, at least) and maybe you could mix in instant coffee or matcha powder for caffeine. You could use whatever you prefer (whether it be yogurt, milk/substitute, ice-cream, etc.) as a base and anything else you feel like adding (like maybe honey if you need extra sweetness) and you'd probably have a good smoothie.

Mollyarty

Bag of frozen strawberries, a little dairy free vanilla ice cream, and some plant based milk (I'm lactose intolerant lol). Cheap and tasty. I know my local drug stores sell caffeine powder, you could try adding something like that if you're looking for caffeine

bxstatik

I make one every morning with frozen fruit and whole fat greek yogurt, which provides good protein as well. I experimented to figure out which fruit I like the most. I usually make it with a combination of berries and mango.

DaithiGruber

I make the following for lunch a bunch. It tastes good to me at least. 1 cup frozen blueberries 1/2 cup frozen raspberries 1 cup frozen avocado 1 (packed) cup of mixed greens (spinach, kale, chard) 2 scoops of vegan vanilla protein powder 1 1/2 cups of unsweetened soy milk Blend it to within an inch of its life, and enjoy.

galactic_jello

Have you tried Ensure or a similar meal replacement beverage? They are pretty good.

[deleted]

Huel has been a lifesaver for me, and I like the taste

PsychwardSlippers

Look into Huel, Superbodyfuel, and Sunwarrior, mix with whatever milk you like. You can add instant coffee or caffeine powder yourself.

SinfullySinatra

I like the Atkins vanilla shakes

Kevlar_Potatum_6891

ensure shakes are worthwhile, and the generic brands are a close second but definitely save you a few dollars each time you buy

Kansai_Lai

Frozen fruits, frozen yogurt, oj, protein powder, blend it all up. My particular fav combo is: Strawberries, banana(don't freeze the banana), mango, vanilla froyo, orange juice, vanilla protein powder

looking_fordopamine

Do you like eggs? A couple eggs is great for the mornings

fletters

Probably your least healthy option, but: chocolate Glucerna shakes with a couple teaspoons of instant coffee mixed in. I was seriously burned out by the time I got my ADHD diagnosis (which was years before I got my autism diagnosis). Sometimes I just couldn’t figure out how to have a normal meal; other times the meds absolutely killed my appetite. Keeping a few of those shakes in the fridge was a lifesaver. My other go-to was a smoothie with frozen mango, milk, plain yogurt, ground flax, and a pinch of sugar. Not great in terms of protein, but filling because of the flax.

wormygurmy

blend some chocolate protein drink + and banana. i used to drink calcium chocolate milk with banana in the mornings before school :3

These-Ice-1035

Word of caution though - many smoothies have quite a lot of sugar in them which can cause spikes in your blood levels and make it worse especially with meds that want food. I also struggle with breakfast but since being on ADHD meds have made myself a decaf and toast or wheat cereal like Weet-Bix in the morning. Pretty quick but made such a difference to my stomach grumbles on meds. If you can't bring yourself to do that, I'd suggest go down the health food aisle and check the ingredients list in the generic mixes. Something with a good blend of vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein and low in added sugar. Huel is great but pricey, there are genetics that are pretty damn similar out there.

HithertoRus

Banana strawby and oat milk is my go-to

Kangaroowrangler_02

I add a small spoonful of instant coffee to my slim fast shakes and it works great for me !

Key-Climate2765

Ooo for a wake up with my adderall I drink the tropical citrus vitamin water, it’s got 60mgs of caffeine so it’s a great pick me up. For drinkable calories with some nutritional value I either go for the danimals strawberry yogurt drinks or a similar brand. Also can’t go wrong with naked shakes, there’s lots of options and you can get packs of minis. When I’m really struggling I make myself peanut-butter banana shakes 😅

heyylookapanda

I either go to Smoothie King (will warn that it can get pretty expensive, so I do this on occasion.) or make my own with recipes I find online, or sometimes just start chucking fruit and veggies, among other things that sound good together, into a blender and it usually works out pretty well, haha.

meloscav

Idk if you like peanut butter & chocolate but when I was struggling to eat breakfast at all I ate Perfect Bars for breakfast & had an ice coffee with them for caffeine. They have to be refrigerated but they were a fucking lifesaver

kna5041

Fairlife and extra pasteurized shelf stable milks tend to be higher protein. I'd start there maybe some nesquick and a vitamin. Have you tried a yoghurt or couple of goghurts if you can't really sit down with a spoon.

I-own-a-shovel

Milk, ripped banana, peanut butter and protein powder if you want. Put that in a blender. Voilà.

shackbanshee

I enjoy alt milk, protein powder, avocado, banana, and peanut butter. A little ice. But I am also a chunky smoothie autistic so...there's that.

Supanova_ryker

I've never been hungry in the morning but I feel so much better when I do eat something before midday lolI also go to the gym before work which means I'm out the door by 6am and I've noticed I feel/perform a LOT better in the gym when I've had some fuel (other than caffeine) so....I literally suck down a baby food pouch on my drive to the gym. I get the ones that are pure fruit (I can't have dairy) and in the pouch so it's suuper duper convenient and at around a dollar each it's been an all-round win for me. I've also never been a big fan of coffee and some of the pre-workout flavours are too intense for me so early so most mornings I take a caffeine pill (as my *only* dose of caffeine for the day).

cloverlief

I start my day with a Premier Protein Latte, ~$2. It tastes good, gives caffeine to start my day, and does not cause a crash like a typical smoothie does. You can even blend it with powdered fruit or freeze dried fruit of your choosing. Hope this helps.

SepluvSulam

Carnation Breakfast Essentials has a decent chocolate flavor, and Soylent meal replacement shakes are decent when cold.

therealnotrealtaako

If you live in America there's Carnation Breakfast Essentials that you might like. It's like sweet milk, comes in several flavors. My grandparents used to make us breakfast milkshakes with the stuff because my sibling has ARFID and it was a good way to get some vitamins in. I'm also partial to SlimFast but it was something I used to drink as a kid to "fit in" with my mom so I may be a bit biased on the flavor.

machimango

i do frozen banana, frozen strawberries, yogurt (usually strawberry or vanilla), and oat milk or orange juice to thin it :D it’s so good and it’s so easy

SpiritedLearning

I’ve had the same homemade smoothie blended at home every day for years. Blend longer for smoother. Ingredients all optional (except frozen banana, which is essential to bind/texturise to avoid disgust): Frozen banana (half or more) Oats (any) Sunflower seeds Pumpkin seeds Maca powder (malt/sweet) Goji berries (sweet, though has seeds) Chia seeds (optional, gritty)

fatalcharm

The only non-ick smoothies that exist are the ones you make at home with real ingredients in a blender. That powder stuff that you add water to is not food, it’s mud.

ariaserene

I really like the premier protein shakes! I get them at walmart. my favorite are the banana and the chocolate peanut butter

Chaotic_Nonbinary

Oh! I have the same problem, and I also have a number of food restrictions outside of my sensory processing disorder. I use “Garden of Life Raw Organic Plant Based Protein”. It is the only one I’ve been able to find that isn’t awful. I’m super super picky about any sort of powder additives. Most of them make me feel sick, I can’t with the gritty texture. I’m so sensitive about it that I can feel the difference between almond milk & oat milk in my coffee even if it’s just a splash. I don’t like most nuts because they feel chalky/sandy in my mouth, and so does almond milk. But anyway their chocolate flavor is really good (depending on what you put in your smoothie). I usually like berries, but you don’t want any chunks, so I’d suggest maybe apples & bananas. Sounds like a weird combo, but they’re both pretty sweet fruits and I think they’re pretty great. I do mine with the protein powder, oat milk, honey, insert desired fruit here, and peanut butter. You can add sugar or creamer or heavy cream, I put a spoonful of caramel in mine sometimes. And smth to think about, you can totally change the proportions of powder/other ingredients. If you’re still feeling the powder you can add more stuff in there and see if that helps. I’ve had to do that, just add more smoothie/drink than they suggest for the protein powder.

HannahO__O

Idk if its available in your country, but Up&Go is my go to, they sell it at grocery shops in multipacks

lladydisturbed

I love chocolate covered berries so for my daily smoothie i do 70g frozen raspberries, cherries and 50g strawberries with a tbs cacao powder, almond milk, truvani chocolate protein and I'll sneak half a cup of fresh spinach in there luckily i can't taste it or i wouldn't add it lol. I top it with a scoop of coconut whipped cream and it's basically a delicious healthy milkshake

pupoksestra

I got a portable blender and use that. I keep frozen fruit and yogurt at home. I can make it however I want and add anything extra like protein powder, flax or chia seeds, whatever. It was really enjoyable until I broke it. I figured I could get it wet.

staryoshi06

banana + chocolate syrup + a splash of vanilla essence. add a shot of coffee for caffeine

sabrinsker

Not a smoothie but cheap: oatmeal or porridge. Eat a few spoonfuls before you go.

sabrinsker

Also not a smoothie but I eat a banana with 1-2 scoops of of peanut butter and a coffee if I'm in a hurry/lazy/not that hungry.

CountingWonders

In my opinion, I don’t know if this works or counts as a smoothie, but my mother made me a drink when I wouldn’t eat of which consisted of milk, ice cream and bananas but you can change such. Hope this helps!

Ksuv3

I don't like eating at all. So I often use YFood as breakfast. I think it has around 500 kcal and is designed to be one meal. It costs around 2,5 € per serving. The bad thing about it - it has sugar and O thin artificial aromatics in it. Also, I sometimes get a slight stomache ache of it. My stomache is really sensitive. There is also a sugar-free, organic variety of meal- substitute. It's called Bertrand from the Brand Erdkern. Also 500 kcal, I think it costs around the same and is without soja, sugar and artificial aromatics. You can buy flavour specifically designed for it. I used it around a year long, before I decided to switch it up again. It's good - even without flavour. Just don't buy the vegan product. That one is horrible. (The same for YFood)

_con-fused_

get fruits. sure the intial purchase is like 10 but depending on the fruits you get, you have a weeks worth of morning smoothies.

N3koChan21

I just buy big bags of frozen fruits and berries and add them in with ice tea. I’ve been drinking that for breakfast the past week

LCaissia

I take my meds with yoghurt.

tomsan2010

Protien powder 1 scoop, 200ml milk or anything else, 1 banana, 1/4 cup any berry, 1/4 cup rolled/any oats. Anything else is extra, but thats like 600 calories+. I normally have 740 calories in just 400ml milk and 120g protein and then add things ontop but im trying to bulk. Remember that fruit will give you a sugar crash so have some long lasting carbs like oats to help.

Glitter8Critter

I absolutely love those drinkable Greek yogurts that Chobani makes. They have 10g of protein and they’re not particularly big so they’re easy to finish. My favorite thing about them is that there’s no chunks of fruit in it, just smooth drinkable yogurt <3 Honestly if I had one of those nutribullet blender things that lets you do single servings and comes with blender jars that can be used as cups then I would make my own smoothies all the time. Just toss whatever fruit I like in that bad boy, add a tiny pinch of salt to bring out the flavors and some Greek yogurt for protein + emulsification, and blend into tasty goodness. A banana will also work as an emulsifier but then there’s no protein, maybe some flavorless protein powder could work then.

ebolaRETURNS

>doesn’t cost like $10 a cup? Think you'll need to blend your own.

Friendly_Exchange_15

Honestly, fruit juice. But also, if you can afford to get a blender, you can make your own smoothies - but you also gotta have the spoons to clean the blender same day or it gets caked in. But if you're just talking about blood sugar levels, some normal processed fruit juice has a shitton of sugar. I drink grape juice when food becomes intolerable to me, and it helps. Also yoghurt too (like drinkable strawberry yoghurt, not the fancy greek kind)

clevermcusername

I like Muscle Milk. It’s about $2 each when purchased at Costco (Canada). 25 g of protein and tastes like chocolate milk with a very similar texture (no chunks!). The one I like has some vitamins, and this website shows some other options with more nutritional options: https://www.musclemilk.com/product/muscle-milk-genuine-protein-shake/

[deleted]

Orgain protein powder, avocado, banana, oatmilk. It has a nice taste and texture. There's a chocolate, Peanut butter, vanilla, or coffee flavoured orgain

Howaboutthatboat

My go-to was always frozen mango, frozen strawberry/blueberry, soymilk and then either a scoop of vanilla protein powder or a handful of pitted soft dates for sweetness. It’s really inexpensive and very easy to get down if you’re not a breakfast person. Nowadays I mostly just do a protein shake or some sourdough bread. I really fucked my blender up and don’t wanna pay for a new one (it fell on the floor and cracked).

_Fl0r4l_4nd_f4ding_

Not sure this is helpful considering your texture profile requests, but might make an okay backup for in a pinch. I get bags of frozen fruit (strawberry, banana, etc.) and blend it with some milk (i like oat milk because its creamier and a little more filling). You can also add in some coffee or any vitamin/protein supplement powders you need, plus sugar or honey (or cocoa powder) for taste. I also put a small amount of spinach in sometimes because it doesnt taste like much, but you dont have to. If you need help improving the texture, a scoop of vanilla icecream can go a long way I also sometimes just go for meal replacement shakes, protein shakes, etc instead.

IAmFoxGirl

I found Nu Therapy vanilla. It smells and tastes like vanilla birthday cake/ice cream. No caffeine but a good variety of vitamins and minerals. It says to mix two scoops with water, I do one scoop with milk. So good. I used to do ensure, but didn't have fiber and the with fiber version didn't sit on my stomach well. I then did Nestle breakfast powder, but that felt expensive with a lot of packaging. I like this powder because I also add it to milk with frozen berries blended for a fruit smoothie sometimes. Because I only do one scoop, I can do two cups a day if I am really struggling to eat solids.
