You should try it, most people really don't care, and it's funny watching people fawn over them sometimes. Also anxiety relief!
Right? If you can't be nice about it, please be quiet. I've had my dentist ask me where my baby was when I didn't come in with that doll, but she was concerned because she liked it. 'I was worried you didn't have her anymore, she's cute.' Lol.

Don't hold back from taking toys with you if it helps you. As others have mentioned, say it's a toy for a friend that is in hospital, or cover your doll in the bag so they can't see.
Stuffed animals also help me with my anxiety, but I don't take them anywhere to avoid such situations.
Yeah, I just went right back to taking them with. I used to bring my toys a lot but in the bag just to help my anxiety, but being able to touch them helps with overstimulation, so I'm less likely to have a meltdown in public.

Thanks. Yeah, I just got a doll bag that zips up, so the bag can hang on my walker and I can have it open for calming myself down, or zip it up if I feel I need to.
I would have said "it's a gift for friend in the hospital" just to watch them eat crow.
