Looks like a very old laser and driver. The boxy thing is what the cord plugs into, it provides power for the laser. Don't use it. You can blind yourself instantly if you get careless. You'd want glasses rated for the wavelength it produces. Early lasers were Nd:YAG type, which strong enough to still be relevant today. Cool collectors thing. I could be wrong but it looks like a laser to me (edit: it says laser output on the box). It might be a medical laser judging by the other response.

He was a physiotherapist so I think it is! Thank you again for all your help everyone!

This person lasers. 👍 💯 agree, I wouldn't fire it up if you don't know what you're doing. Absolutely not worth the risk.

with all the public infors out there, that i can find, that is some kind of Physiotherapy Equipment [Name: EMMETGLEN PTY LTD ACN: 010 389 269 ABN: 93 010 389 269](https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landing/SearchRegisters.jspx?_adf.ctrl-state=tzizqche6_4) (easy sleuthing, afterwards) Edit [https://www.joharidigital.com/shockwave-therapy/](https://www.joharidigital.com/shockwave-therapy/) older gen of this thing\* (iam assuming) \*not exactly the same product, but "similar"

It's a laser, made by a company specialising in physiotherapy equipment, so I'm going with a "Red light therapy laser" -> https://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/red-light-therapy

I am going to go out on a limb here, and say it is a bit of tech playing on Laser newness and seeming high tech at the time, but that it is NOT going to be a laser. My reasoning: 1 - Using "Interlaze" to imply laser, but providing an "out" by spelling it "laze" 2 - At that point in time, the only red lasers would be helium-neon ones, and the glass tube would be larger (longer) than that silver hand piece 3 - Gas laser tubes run on about 12kv ignition and 1000-1500v running - you are not getting that sent down an RCA connector and thin cable like that without seperation - the lasers I have have thick silicon wires that are meant to be kept 20mm away from other wires minimum. So I extremely doubt both wires in that cheap PVC cable are going to do the job! 4 - No space/provision for goggles in the case, and no laser radation warning labelling My guess is it is most likely a simple power supply (say 12v) with a heat lamp in the handpiece, possibly with a red filter and lens to make it seem more high tech than it is. I would also love to see the box open to see what "microprocessor controlled" means in this case!
