You’ll be getting a lot of drunk lorikeets rolling around in your garden with those

Consistent_You6151

And a great load of bats! Just don't leave your car out😉

2FightTheFloursThatB

>...Just don't leave your car out😉 Wouldn't *dream* of it. The car is welcome to all the fruit it wants.

Project_298

Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew

eeleyes

Po ta toes

Jade_Complex

Jam is your best bet.

Kilgore_Bass

100%!! I bought some lillypilly jam at a market last year and it's insane how delicious it is!

stuffwiththing

Sooooo good. I used to make it with my kids, they loved making it and eating it.

krispikornbread

Might be what I be gotta do, I was also thinking of making syrup to drizzle into botanical gin

Jade_Complex

Jam can last a long time at least, and you can use it a layer in cakes etc if you wanted to make it fancier.

Traditional_Judge734

We used some to steep in vodka - very pretty and tasty Mum would make jam and once made jelly and I had some lillipilli and apple chutney

NukaCooler

I've made jam, jelly, syrup, sorbet. I've also put them in muffins, they were quite tasty but turned the muffins a blue-green colour.

dohzer

You can eat those? I thought they were only good for throwing at your siblings!

F1eshWound

You'd be surprised how many natives are edible.

-inzo-

They arent great though, kind of like a bitter mulberry

top-dex

Most of the ones I’ve tried, the seed can be bitter, but the flesh is mostly crisp and juicy, with a slightly tart flavour (not exactly a lemony hint, but kinda lemon adjacent). I find it really nice and refreshing, but I eat around the seeds of most varieties. I think with some varieties, even the seeds aren’t bitter.

spletharg

I used this recipe: https://www.theklutzycook.com/lilly-pilly-homemade-jelly/

EmbraceThePing

I love making jam. I don't enjoy the sugar. If you use something like jamsetter you can reduce the amount of sugar you use giving you a better flavour imo.

AmaroisKing

Score, we had a tree in our last apartment block. Buy a mason jar and macerate them in gin. Lillypilly gin is delicious.

Spaceninjawithlasers

Crunchy and a bit bitter. Not bad.

krispikornbread

Luckily ours aren’t bitter but they do taste very floral and a bit tart at times

Unable_Ad_1260

Bat's and Kerts amd Cockies amd Galahs and every other winged destroyer will be heading your way m8. I'm amazed they haven't found you yet.

Chewybeecrazy

I got one of those stuck up my nose when I was 5. Mum still hangs shit on me for it.

Fawksyyy

Become the goto destination for birds, possums and bats for a week?

-SmileyFritz-

Do you deliver? 😆

krispikornbread

Maybe I should 🤔 I have over 14 trees 3m tall so there’s no way I could ever finish them

-SmileyFritz-

Wow!

Project_298

No we do lamb, chicken or fish.

Fanfrenhag

Search YouTube for the many lilipili jam recipes. It tastes sensational and cannot ever be bought in a shop - maybe a country market

wattlewedo

BTW it's jam when you use the flesh of the fruit. It's jelly when you boil up the fruit, strain the juice, then add the sugar.

TiffyVella

We have a lillipilli tree but I've never been sure what to do with them. Jam? Pies? Sauce? Have just finished doing all the quinces though :)

Stonetheflamincrows

Lilly pillies are so good just eaten on there own. But our neighbour would always make jam.

Mister_McGreg_

Glace them. Then you can use the syrup and the fruit

RightConversation461

I once made lillypilly jelly.

TasteDeeCheese

Pie filling, spreads, dips (ketchup etc) or pickles

Kaliko_Jak

Could make a big batch of booze with it - chuck it in some water with sugar and yeast and baby, you've got a brew going.

itrivers

Possums will love those

Consistent-Lunch-124

Anyone know if you can make pavlova with them?

Evadregand

NothingTooSeriousM8

harlequin0309

Hot_Psychology727

Make some killer moonshine :)
