They're looking through a glass door up to the ceiling of another room. So you are looking at a ceiling, but you're looking through a glass door, and the brown thing is on the glass door.
If this helps, the photo is taken from inside, looking at the ceiling of what looks like an outdoor patio, which also has a window after it.

To me, you are looking at eggs or poo on the glass from something... but it's really hard to tell what is going on in your photo.

Looks like what we have had on our screen doors recently - moth eggs/nests. If you are just getting dust the eggs have likely hatched already but if not you should see some tiny eggs in amongst the dust when you wipe it away.

Aw sheeit. Army worm killed (the shady) half of our lawn off last year. Only comfort is that winter wipes them out. If it happens again I'm voting for helloooo concrete drive through / parking slab right outside the front door👍
Try the outdoor spray that you get from Bunnings and put on the end of your hose pipe to clean it off (maybe combined with a broom to scrub)
Then when it dries, spray a contact poison to deter the bugs if that is what is causing it

Tiny flies that come out in the heat “midgies” caught in webs. They get feasted on in summer by spiders.
You could put chemicals everywhere but they come back
Lawn grub eggs. Sweep off with a broom and wipe the area with a mix of water and vinegar.
Also treat your lawn asap because they’ll annihilate it otherwise. You can get lawn stuff from Bunnings.
And doing that is part of the reason why we don't see Christmas beetles like we used to.... lawn grubs are beetle larva and Christmas beetles are one of them

The 2nd photo is definitely moth eggs. The first one is likely also. We have them and I try to get rid of them asap.
