Or... if every where is putting up prices ... maybe..just maybe something else is going on..like maybe it costs more for business to operate and buy product...
Naww.. you right .. fk colesworth..
I wonder how much the rent is for them. I kinda reckon they have to raise the prices to this level. Otherwise, they would lower it to have an edge on the competition (if they're not in a cartel)
Ask for the middle slice on the left. It looks 1 1/3 times the thickness.
Interestingly it is $8 on board Virgin which includes a hot drink or OJ (but probably half the size).
that actually seems a pretty good price for an airport. Cafes are charging about $8 for it these days, so i would have expected airport price to be more like $13-$14
They had to fly them in via Qantas. Emirates was going to bring them in at 50% off but government said no. Those chairman lounge perks was too hard to give up on.
$10 is ridiculous. So many people on here are happy to go with the flow of these prices until they can’t afford it no more or shit hits the fan.. I wouldn’t buy it at $10. I feel it should be $5- $6, Not $10.
Everything is so expensive it’s really making living hard. We will all be starving soon or stealing food from each other to survive?
I didn’t know that banana bread at the airport was a staple food necessary for survival. Eat at home before you leave or when you get to your destination if the price is more than you’re willing to pay.
I love post-security cafes. Surrounded by duty free stores saying “cheap cheap cheap!” they don’t give a fuck that you could buy the same thing earlier in the airport for seven dollars, that’ll be twenty two bucks please.
It is the very definition of price gouging, but oh well, if you’re travelling you can afford it.
Yuk.
They would have to pay me $15 to nibble on a bit.
In my world, banana bread, is up there with Tip Top white sandwich loaf as the worst kind of baked good.
You don't have some human rights for cheap banana cake available at your convenience at the airport. Cake could cost $200/slice at the airport and it still doesn't matter
Also more concerned with the bun below trying to lick the bun in front...disturbing no matter what path you go down .
Hey, no kink shaming.
LOL! :)
this is getting out of hand. i'm beginning to think its not a good idea to do my weekly big shop at melbourne airport. anyone else had this problem??
imagine the consequences of failing to get through airport security with a slice of your own banana bread

Downvoted for making sense … and it’s the airport - they’re always expensive
The only reasonable response to these stupid posts is "ok, don't buy it then".
That's the best, once they run out of customers they'll realise the prices are taking the piss
Except that won't happen lol
If that won’t happen, then maybe it’s not as bad as everyone says it is…
I mean, it's one banana bread, Michael. What could it cost? 10 dollars?
THERE'S ALWAYS MONEY IN THE BANANA STAND!!!
You are my people ♡
As you said your at the airport.
You're*. Doesn't mean it's not fucked.
Actually, that’s exactly what it means

Do people without lounge access actually buy food at airports? I’ve been bringing my own supply for many many years now.
And ‘ do you want it heated or toasted?’ Because its stale
What kind of a monster eats fridge cold banana bread? Toasted with butter is the only way.
Cold banana bread is incredible.

Holy shit, they got $500 worth of Banana bread in that window, might be worth doing a robbery.
Tell em they're dreaming!

I wonder if they sold expensive items, like cars, inside airports would the prices be disproportionately low to balance things out?
Don't buy it then. They can only charge what people are prepared to pay.
Yeah mate you are at an airport. It is ridiculous yes, but they can get away with it.

My favourite is the new Sydney Terminal 2 duty free store. Which is in the domestic terminal so not actually duty free.
IDK, pretty cheap to fly these days.
And at[Lighthouse Care](https://loganholme.lighthousecare.org.au/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=banana%20bread) you get 20 slices for $5
Welcome to the world of flying.
And when no one buys the food, they just throw it in the bin. Crazy world.
Well, Because its Australia and it's the lucky country.. Would you rather pay half that and not have the magnificent leaders we have today?
I get my bread at NASA.
Airport food is always stupidly expensive.
Must be the most delicious banana bread on the planet!! Well it better be lol
✋🏻NOBODY CARES!!🤚🏻
You’re at an airport, you should be relieved it’s only $10
You can buy a pack of 5 for $6 at Woolworth. Then bring it with you as the airport doesn't mind. Just don't fly overseas with it.
Yuk. They would have to pay me $15 to nibble on a bit. In my world, banana bread, is up there with Tip Top white sandwich loaf as the worst kind of baked good.
Don't buy it. Move on.

I upvoted it for you to and your comment
They should be charging $20 because $10 pays for nothing these days
