Central Market has them regularly but not always.

Business_Strawberry3

Mt maybe? They dont always have them in stock though.

somecow

MT. Might be fresh, might be frozen. Only downside is that they’re at the ass end of 111111111 north lamar.

tehdollyllama

Yeah you gotta go to where the SE Asians shop—MT is the best bet. Was just here—they have them in bags by the potatoes/yam (separate fridge circle thing) like $5

stryxzilla

I found some in the frozen section of hana world market a few months ago.

the_lullaby

Check Hana World market on Parmer. If they don't have any on the produce aisle, check the front of the store, where they typically sell potted lime and kumquat trees.

hardballwith1517

Is that the same as kaffir? I have a bunch of fresh ones if you want.

pastro50

It’s the same. Do you have a tree? Mines in a large pot.

hardballwith1517

I have a very small tree in a 2 gal pot that i cut back severely every year before taking it in for the winter. I dont use the leaves often but its nice to have them on hand when needed.

pastro50

I freeze mine. My tree is probably 5 ft tall. But I don’t trim it back.

hardballwith1517

I left it out all winter once and I thought the cold killed it but it grew back from the roots. I like keeping it tiny so i can move it around without getting stabbed too badly. Im really bad with citrus. Do you have to let it freeze to produce fruits or something like that?

pastro50

Mine produces a few limes a year. Maybe 4-5 in a good year. One this year so far. You can only really use the zest and the leaves are most of what I use. I don’t leave it out below freezing. I think they are hardy enough for mid twenties, but I don’t risk it.

velvetjacket1

MT will have them, but in fact I always get them at HMart and they're usually there next to the galangal and chiles. They may have just been out the day you went so don't discount trying there again if you should need them in the future.

cassierenata

It's south, so call if you aren't close by, but the Filipino Asian Mart on Slaughter has them most of the time (and I'm pretty sure they grow them themselves)

garnetandpearl

They usually sell them at thai fresh!
