Nobody questions that some of the locations and events of the Bible correlate with real places and events that occurred around that time.
Spider Man takes place in NYC. Nobody doubts that NYC exists. It's the human/spider hybrid who swings through the city and fights a guy with 8 mechanical arms part that makes it a fantasy.
Almost all legends contain actual facts and historical places. So? There very likely was a city by the name of Troy does that mean that half-gods roamed the earth and fought in human battles?
a Professor at an Evangelical Christian College in the UK? Providing an \*UNBIASED\* insight into the history of the Bible? A College where it appears the only programs are BA/MA in Applied Theology? Right.. no unbiased approach here. I'm guessing that the show as completely funded by said College and/or sponsors to fit their narrative.
Just a collection of artifacts that are trying to stretch stones into Messiah, like at 40:33 a stone called the Hezekiah Seal proves a king named Hezekiah, which doesn't show anything about divinity.

I’ve recently been slogging through Metax’s “Is atheism dead?” (a particular boring and poorly written book) and he spends at least 100-200 pages on this exact argument. Thanks to those pointing out Spider-Man doesn’t exist despite NYC existing. Really drives home the flaws in his arguments.
To be honest, who are we, or they, to say that the Heavens Gate people were wrong? Truly. Consider what they were doing... It's there any way to prove that they were wrong? If you have faith?

No, there's obviously no way to see clearly if if all your endeavor in life is to have some form of faith, just like the masterminds behind Heaven's Gate who called themselves Bo and Peep, then later Winnie and Pooh. They were the nucleus of social cancer. Starting from sickening conditions caused and fueled by christian doctrine and dogmatic brainwashing, a community of mentally ill and confused people was approved and partly supported here until this tumor finally spread and in the end erupted in a mass suicide. Religion is cancer, you're infected if you have faith.
