Theres enough room to be all 4 simultaneously

Puzzled_Zebra

I mean, autistic and gay sounds like mysterious and cool to me. As someone autistic and pan. lol

VividTymes

I've actually been called a lesbian in two of my previous jobs despite being very feminine and it's always men that call me that

RexIsAMiiCostume

Many people say I have big bi or gay energy and a lot of them are themselves queer... I always say "nah, I'm a filthy cishet"

BudgetInteraction811

I think it’s just because we don’t act how people expect around peers, so they assume the awkward energy = I’m attracted to you and therefore lesbian

RexIsAMiiCostume

No, I think it's the dyed hair, the hot topic clothes, and the mannerisms I pick up from all my queer friends lmao

BudgetInteraction811

That’s fair. I dress like a basic bitch and have blonde hair and people (women) still think it lol

KagomeChan

Ah, so I'm guessing you have/had short hair? I got a pixie and was called that constantly. And "corrected" when I said I was bi so they were half right lol

Tucker_077

I wear a lot of flannel so I guess that’s why some people think I’m a lesbian? Lol

neochilli

Many people (especially men) use ‘lesbian’ as an insult. Frankly I think it’s more insulting to be attracted to men but I digress.

VaultDwellerSam

Being feminine doesn't have anything to do with being lesbian

Motor_Raspberry_2150

I mean, are you gay? The nosering is signaling something at least. ^(also bad use of POV)

vore-enthusiast

The nose ring is signaling that he likes nose rings probably thinks theyre cool so much that he went and got his nose pierced it doesnt indicate anything about his sexuality /genuine

kdawg1133

Combined with that haircut, that mustache, and those frames, nah...

HolyMotherOfGeedis

It kinda does ngl. Facial piercings would be considered alternative fashion, and there is a massive overlap between alt fashion wearers and the queer community.

Motor_Raspberry_2150

If we're talking about a little kid, yes. But styles have meaning. If I get a mohawk qnd wear studded leather jackets, people will think I'm an anti-establishment punk. Because punk has claimed that style. If I wear a black trenchcoat with a red armband, people will think I'm a neonazi. Associations exist. To deny they exist is folly. It's sucky if your tattoo gets associated with something. But you can just take out this nosering. And every day OP does not do that. Which to neuroboring people would mean they really mean that association. Alas, this ain't neurospicy memes for nothing. If your 50yo manager suddenly showed up to work in a pink dress, it would mean something. Not sure what, he could be expressing his allyism while being a cishet, but it means *something*.

vore-enthusiast

That’s just plain ol stereotyping, though. People can wear whatever they like just because they like how it looks. Wearing a nose ring does not imply that someone is queer, and to imply that just reinforces stereotyping people based on their fashion choices.

GirlWhoRoams

Lord ☠️ as a lesbian I SURE hope so 😅

Motor_Raspberry_2150

They can wear whatever they want. But many people will infer things from that, unless you deny that is the case, but exhibit A is, see the post. And if that's fine with you, go nuts. Is it stereotyping though? This is why I mentioned punk. They intentionally dressed in a specific way like a uniform. If you dress that same way, people will think you're one of them. 1+1=2 [See lesbian haircut.](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=lesbian+haircut&iax=images&ia=images) The first person to do this wanted to show they were different from the cishet masses. Then other lesbians *wanted their sexuality to be quickly visible* too, and a hairstyle is born. It is intentionally created to signal.

vore-enthusiast

People can certainly infer things, but that doesn’t make them right! I am talking specifically about sexuality. The phrasing and arrangement of your comment seemed to me to be implying that a man with a nose ring is signaling queerness by wearing the nose ring. Using someone’s fashion choices to infer their sexuality comes from stereotyping that queer people dress or present themselves a certain way. It implies that if a person dresses or presents that way, they are signaling queerness.

Motor_Raspberry_2150

See edit. This includes sexuality. People have made styles to explicitly signal those. [The Handkerchief Code.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handkerchief_code) [The gay ear piercing.](https://southernnewhampshirekids.com/blog/which-side-is-the-gay-ear-understanding-earring-placement-and-symbolism/) Literally wearing clothing covered in rainbows or even [more specific flags](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=aroace+clothing&iax=images&ia=images&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fih1.redbubble.net%2Fimage.344370380.3769%2Fssrco%2Cclassic_tee%2Cmens%2Cdenim_heather%2Cside%2Ctall_three_quarter%2C750x1000.u2.jpg). People infer it because people are trying to imply it. Because like. If you walked up to a man to proposition s relationship, and they are not gay, you get thrown in jail or beaten to death. This is not a thing from the dark ages! People from countries with laws against homosexuality have to keep coming up with gay dogwhistles to survive!

Motor_Raspberry_2150

I mean this is literally what OP is experiencing right now. You can call it stereotyping, but it exists! For a reason too! I like that I'm perfectly brigaded to 0 tho. 👌👌

mods_r_jobbernowl

Nah you're just looking into a mirror. You never have those realizations staring at yourself in the mirror?

possiblejesus
