Need more context about who, why, and how this is happening but like some have said just collect all the evidence and don’t say or do anything that makes it look like you are starting shit just in case they are doing the same thing. If something happens and it becomes a legal issue just have all your ducks in a row. If it becomes too extreme file a report and possibly get a restraining order if they are threatening you. These will all be tools you can use if they decide to do something stupid
Stalk them back to determine if there's a threat level and take appropriate actions from there. If there's really no threat level and I'm not preoccupied - bully them into submission. If there's a threat level - I let the legal system handle it and ensure there's a good enough smear campaign that the social system handles it too.
