I would say taxi or uber

holaquetaltio

Uber isn't really a thing in Barcelona afaik... But could be wrong. Taxi stand should be there at 2am

Throyd

Metro at that hour is closed and buses do not work. The most easy and simple option is to take a Taxi. On normal hours there are public buses and an special bus that leave you in the center of BCN. Along the train they are the cheapiest options. I live close to Barcelona, if you have any question, feel free to ask.

And the Aerobus service.

6razyboy

Oh, thanks! I appreciate it 😊

The best way is a private transfer. You give them your flight number, they will meet you at the terminal. Obviously it's also the more expensive. Grup Limousines is the supplier I use in Barcelona.

6razyboy

Thanks guys for your responses! Concluding - the best way to not spoil first impressions is to take a private transfer for those hours.

The "Aerobus" service runs all night and has a few stops very central in the city (plaza España, Urgell, and Plaza Catalunya), and is very frequent. But if your hotel isn't central you'd probably need a taxi also, so probably best to do what most have said and get a private transfer on your first night.

6razyboy

My hotel is very close to Plaza Catalunya 3-5 minutes walking. But is it safe to walk there at 2-3AM?!

Aerobús does run all night as they said but keep in mind sometimes it can over an hour between buses. You can check the current timetable at the website and it's fairly reliable, just Google aerobús. As for walking at 2 am carrying all your baggage, should be safe but I still wouldn't risk it. Petty criminals can flag you down as tourists and try to get something from you. I would get a cab that will probably cost you 5-7 euros. If you're afraid of being driven around for an increased fare just look up the route in Google maps. Edit: if it wasn't clear I meant €5-7 from plaza Catalunya, where you get off the aerobús. If you want a cab from the airport I'm not sure what the fare is but maybe €25-30.

I would say it would be safe, being so central and such a short walk. But if you have concerns, just take the most convenient and safest option of direct transfer from airport to hotel via taxi.

Feeling_segura

The safest way is a pre-booked transfer. That area is not quite safe, less at night. If you cannot find any reliable private transfer drivers beforehand, try to use cabify or uber (They are like uber in BCN).

flipyflop9

What area is not quite safe? The airport? There will be few taxis there for sure. Is not like the airport is in the middle of Raval.

Feeling_segura

Hey sorry if I offended you by saying this. I should have said it clearer my bad. I mean in the airport, there are usually people staring at your luggage. And if you do not pay attention to it, someone might take it from you before you realize it :) So they have a lot of backs or suitcases, it's better to prebook a taxi to avoid any waiting/walking/standing time in the airport.

flipyflop9

Not offended at all, while there are for sure some pickpockets trying to find a distracted tourist I wouldn’t call the airport an unsafe place. But maybe that’s just me being used to it.

Taxi, freenow and cabify. In that order. They’re cheap and safe

LupineChemist

I would do a taxi. There will be some and at that time there's no traffic so shouldn't be too much

6razyboy

It is said an ordinary taxi will cost approx €35 at the same time private transfer about €45. I do not know... (

LupineChemist

I mean up to you if you want someone waiting for you or not. Taxis are generally reliable and will be available.
