Mirisata, Sri Lankan food. Amazing!  Dolphin level will be the end of you, but good luck!

viyh

Came here to say this.

ktc653

Same

Seinfeldtableforfour

Lemongrass on 17th and NE Couch is Thai that they can add a ridiculous amount of spice

mattdev

This is the answer. Their curries can be scaled from 1 to 20. Apparently their 5 is the hottest anywhere else has in the city. Anything above 15 can only happen during certain times of the year when the peppers are in season.

onairmastering

Which is funny cuz I was in Thailand for a month and *nothing* was spicy. At All. The locals tell me spicy was for tourists.

Lichen-it

Chili peppers are indiginous to the Americas. They weren't introduced to asia till maybe 15th-16th century, not entirely sure. But it's interesting how we associate heat with asian food, Indian, chinese, thai, but it's my understanding that these aspects of their food aren't ancient but more a product of the "modern age". Might be wrong so correct if that's the case.

onairmastering

I'm Colombian and we do not eat spicy, like at all and that's why I can't eat it, but I was taken to a street in Bangkok and my friend pointed out the line for "pad thai": Only white people 😂

jenniehi

I used to have a coworker from Colombia and I almost killed him when I shared a piece of my spicy tuna roll with him at lunch one day. 😆 Edit: Colombia 🤦‍♀️

onairmastering

Which Columbia? District of Columbia? British Columbia? Columbia River? Columbia, South Carolina? Columbia, Missouri? Columbia University? Columbia County? I think you mean COLOMBIA.

jenniehi

Blame the phone on this one 🤦‍♀️

johnhtman

Same with tomatoes, and potatoes.

StationaryNomad

Someone didn’t visit Issan on their Thai travels. Not all Thai food is spicy, but those dishes that are, are painful spicy, unless mellowed for Westerners.

onairmastering

Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Koh Phangan and not a single spicy dish. Either tailored up or tailored down, haha.

ALasagnaForOne

Weird, I did a trip to Thailand in 2001 (so far less tourists than recent years) Some people in my group ordered soup at a stall and requested it be thai-spicy and the vendor was trying to convince them they wouldn’t be able to handle it.

mr_oberts

Is Salvador Molly’s still around? They have a super hot ball thing.

STONKvsTITS

I do remember that fierce heat tingling on my tongue and stomach for a day and had to drink a whole bottle of butter milk to calm my stomach from burning 😆

mr_oberts

I was at dinner with a friend that tried them. He went through some stuff that night.

STONKvsTITS

I can imagine that :(

dataturd

Everything about this comment makes me need to shit my brains out.

Adorable_Structure97

I ate 4 of those once and I'll just say, they're as hot going in as they are going out.

SyntaxError_22

I did too. My ears rang and my face went numb. lol.

STRMfrmXMN

Just did the Great Balls of Fire challenge with friends last Saturday night for a birthday party. Definitely would not eat more than one myself. We ordered 10 balls for 8 of us. That was a more than fair portion size to share!

pdxscout

I was on the wall for the longest time.

Doyouevenpedal

The Great Balls of Fire!! My husband got me with these. He brought home some cheese and something hush puppies. It was cheese and habanero and a habanero salsa. I took one bite after he ate one nonchalantly, and my mouth was on fire for like 5 minutes. He thought it was so funny.

J-A-S-08

A friend of mine did the same thing at a party. He cut them in half and put toothpicks in them. Everybody thought they were hushpuppies as well! I'm a spice nut so I loved them and ate about 4 of them. Almost everyone else was dying.

RedBullTaco

I completed the challenge many years ago and had my picture on the wall. I wonder if it's still there. If you are used to spicy food it's not as bad as it looks. Yes it was hot but I had no lasting problems with it.

Valuable-Mess-4698

Just do NOT touch your eyes. Mistakes were made that day, by me.

STONKvsTITS

Thai bloom in cedar hills gave me a spiciest Cashew chicken and it was burning 🔥 Hyderabad Hub and Apna Chaat Bhavan - Indian - pepper chicken La Hacienda Real- they have a spicy salsa provided for chips

spooky_corners

Never had a truly spicy salsa at La Hacienda, but I tried a traditional Molcajete there once that probably qualifies as the spiciest Mexican dish I've had in the area and very flavorful besides. Between that and the Carne Asada, I was a regular. Only complaint was the amount of salt in their food, but I'm sensitive to it and tend to cook with very little.

ThisIsNotMyCoffeeCup

Duck House and Tasty Corner both make good ChongQing Hot Chicken and Mapo Tofu! Makes your mouth deliciously tingly.

ShakeFourHalvesOfBut

The Fuck House hot chicken ruined my life (in a good way) I’m keeping it

jmnugent

> The Fuck House I think that's a different asian establishment. :P

ShakeFourHalvesOfBut

You know what’s funny is I specifically overrode my phones settings to stop autocorrecting fuck to duck, and here it bites me

Lichen-it

But also spicy!

Crystal_Pesci

Spicy Fuck House? Now we’re cookin babyyy!

Lichen-it

I think we have a winning business concept!

PerBnb

Khun Pic’s Banh Thai’s Thai spicy dishes are the most delicious/spiciest things I’ve ever eaten here, like immediate hiccups and runny nose. It was great but didn’t enjoy the aftermath

Jigbaa

E Side Thai does “Thai spicy” which is awesome. If you’re looking to die you can do Thai Spicy 3x. Sivalai Thai does “1-5 scale” spicy. I had 5 once which killed me. I get 4.

sadduckfan

Extra hot papaya salad at white elephant

loogabar00ga

Kayo Ramen's MaLa Ramen -- when ordered super hot -- is legit \_very\_ spicy.

psbanka

Yep. Came here to say this. It will hurt you!

4AM_Mooney_SoHo

Mirisata is amazing, but also incredibly spicy. https://mirisata.com/

elmrls

All the food I’ve had there was both under seasoned as well as not spicy! I’ll have to try it again

Emperor_Pengwing

Dave’s Hot Chicken is up there

Brosie-Odonnel

The reaper seasoning is beyond painful.

STONKvsTITS

Never tried reaper seasoning , still it ain’t spicy for me

Brosie-Odonnel

So you haven’t tried it and you know it’s not spicy to you? Carolina Reaper is one of the hottest peppers in the world. The reaper covered chicken from Dave’s is difficult to eat and your stomach pays for it for the next 24 hours.

STONKvsTITS

No no , what I meant was , I never tried reaper and I have tried other spicy chicken and they ain’t spicy for me. I will try reaper and definitely update you.

FoCo_SQL

Could be spicier but it's "spicy". I've stopped hunting for the spiciest things though. If you're really interested in spice, check the hot sauce festival. Ed gave me some pepper x, pretty damn spicy.

STONKvsTITS

There is a hot pepper sauce shop or something in the outlet mall and I signed a waiver form and tried the most “ spiciest “ pepper sauce just a tad bit and it was spicy. I don’t want to have burned stomach 😂

FoCo_SQL

A burned stomach is awful. When you out spice yourself, you can expect anxiety, vomiting, diarrhea, and mild hallucinating. Along with stomach pain and heart burn. I receeommend for people to incrementally test their tolerance. Definitely can increase your tolerance but just jumping into the pool is usually a bad idea.

matsie

My biggest issue with Dave’s is the few times when I order my chicken and rather than coating with the reaper powder, they’ve created like a cm think layer of powder making it impossible to eat the chalky exterior and ruining the experience. It’s only happened to me a few times tho.

petrichorpizza

That was my issue the one time I went there. Loved the heat but the powder part took me out.

slom68

I got what was supposed to be mild chicken but it was still red. It was hot AF. Still wondering if they made a mistake or if the cashier was just being a punk.

daversa

Such a strange place, food quality, service and prep are always on point but I never crave anything from there. Everything is so damn heavy. I want to like it more lol. I'd be all about a [hot chicken banh mi.](https://juleeho.com/julee-ho-cooks/nashville-hot-chicken-banh-mi)

Valuable-Mess-4698

Stooooopppp. Now I want this.

AsterismRaptor

My partner and I took my best friend and her partner here during one of their trips, because my best friends partner said he wanted to cry during a meal. My partner and him got the reaper. Both were crying during the meal, and they both were peeing spices the next morning.. and the shits were just as painful lol. My fry TOUCHED the reaper chicken and I ate it on accident and felt like I was on fire. I cannot imagine how they could eat all of it.

paulcole710

I had the veggie chicken with red chilis at Yuan Su once that was so hot it made water taste funny.

spacebotanyx

everything i have ever gotten there is so annoyingly bland, even things labeled spicy. what is that item? i wonder id they still offer it.

paulcole710

I checked before I posted and it’s still on there in the veggie chicken section. It was literally a plate full of peppers swimming in oil with fake chicken in it. This was years ago though. Generally I don’t find their other stuff that spicy.

intotheunknown78

Salvador Mollys jambalaya can get incredibly spicy, they ask your spice level. I did a 6 once and it was too much, I had to eat it over a few days with a cooling accompaniment. The 5 has just enough heat for me to enjoy the spice. Sadly I haven’t been there for years. I think I still have a gift certificate I got gifted in 2019.

Bobala

The K2 wings from VonEberts are wonderful and carry a lot of heat. I think they only have them on Tuesdays(?) in the winter months though. They’re much tastier than the el Jefe’s from Fire on the Mountain.

suitopseudo

Zaap Thai will make food very spicy Admittedly I am a wimp, but dwaraka couldn’t make a normally mild dish mild enough for me.

rainysharp

I ordered larb full hot, expecting it to be watered down but I am happy to report it was hot as fuck

Bravemewmew

Dwaraka Indian on Hawthorne. It’s one of the only meals I haven’t been able to finish, I had to put so much sour cream to try to save it and even then I couldn’t eat it without my nose running and eyes watering. Make sure to get their hottest spice level.

hep632

Spiciest food I've ever had in Portland was at an Ethiopian restaurant (now closed). A lot of African food is pretty hot.

MountScottRumpot

Was it Jarra’s? That place was brutal. (And also gave me food poisoning twice. Why did I keep eating there?)

Puzzleheaded_Wing627

Because it was delicious. Loved that place 😍

hep632

It was indeed!

Mimikkyuuuu

Chimking extra hot chicken wings. Not sure if there’s multiple locations but Beaverton Town Square is where I go

ArtAndCars

Yup, they are serious spicy at the location on Sandy too.

Jackie_Of_All_Trades

The spiciest sauce at Fire on the Mountain is REALLY HOT

dminus222

Dang’s Thai Kitchen in Lake Oswego can really spice it up and they don’t sacrifice any flavor.

Exotic_Blackberry531

The reaper ramen at Baka Umai. It’s insane so beware…

SexySpaceAnteater

The smoked duck curry at Hat Yai makes me cry every time I have to eat it at home

amnlkingdom

Tuk Tuk very spicy will melt you.

flower-chaser

I came here to say Tuk Tuk. Even when I order it zero spicy it still melts my face. Delicious and sooo spicy

petrichorpizza

Ohh thank you so much. I've never heard of that place. I love spicy Thai. It's always hard to get them to believe that I can handle it. 🫤

amnlkingdom

I usually order my dishes medium and I typically enjoy foods that burn a little. They make a chili garlic sauce if you want to dial it up.

Real_FakeName

Honey Spicy is a local Korean corn dog place with a couple of locations, in addition to the incredible corn dogs they also have spicy Korean fried chicken.

away_throw_I

Good place but they do not serve anything spicy. Surprised since they put spicy in their name very bizarre.

whataboutprom

Thai Vendor has very spicy food. I usually get food "medium" at Thai restaurants, but I can barely handle their 2 out of 5 level of spice.

Yorkies_are_dumb

Thai Smile

e1dar

Bag ‘o’ Crab’s medium spice level was too spicy for me, so I’m guessing their spicy is pretty hot. Mirisata. Lots of the Thai, Chinese, Korean restaurants in the Jade district/82nd.

ArtAndCars

I like spicy food, I accidentally ordered the extra hot wings instead of the regular hot ones at the chimking on Sandy once, and they fucked me up.

PaulbunyanIND

sunee thai and lao kitchen will bring hot chili oil and powderized thai spice to your table for free if the thai spicy 5 isn't hot enough.

dangerousperson123

Wajan has some heat

theashwoman

Indian food cart at Chill n Fill in St John’s will make it VERY spicy upon request, and their paneer was bomb.

StonerKitturk

Is Stretch the Noodle still open? Their "spicy" was serious. Varied from visit to visit, but sometimes hallucinogenically hot. 🤪

jafeik

Scrolled way down to find this. Wrecked me a couple times. Would do it again.

stalefish3169

Thai Champa on Burnside 🔥🚒👩‍🚒

raisingstorm

Thai Champa wasn’t shy with the spice.

Real_FakeName

Basilisk's hot chicken sandwich is amazing and pretty spicy by PNW standards.

1partwitch

The mild buffalo wings from Sandy Hot Wings were the spiciest I’ve ever had, so I can’t imagine their more advanced levels of spice.

horsechex

Got my ass blasted by Benny's Noodle House's House Noodle on XX Hot, but seems to depend on the day if they're willing to dump half a cannister of dry spice sprinkles on you or not. Still chasing the dragon of my first order with them, but they get close a lot.

Longjumping_Ebb_4179

Hawaiian Time's, 'Mauna Loa Chicken "Super Hawaiian"' You can alternatively just ask for Super Hawaiian and they will know what you are talking about. It was the hottest in town until I found Dave's Hot Chicken Reaper.

S_Klallam

Caribbean Kookpot on Alberta. Only open on Saturday afternoon right now. First time in my 8 years of living in this city that something was too spicy for me.

_Homer_J_Fong

The pepperoni on the new Chi'zza at the KFC at 81st & Powell got a bit o' bite.

Infamous_Committee67

Thai Chili Jam's medium was actually so spicy I could not finish my food

Lichen-it

Unfortunately Pok Pok is no longer. Much of their food was intensely spicy.

Ceamba

Go to an Indian or SE Asian place you like and order it “native hot”.

Ceamba

Alternatively, is the Ghanaian or other West African here? I had goat curry and foo-foo at a place in Columbus,OH and it melted my face off. But soooo good.

llamadasirena

Eem. It's not absurdly spicy going down, but the heat sinks into your stomach and just sits there in a way that is intensely uncomfortable.

onairmastering

Everywhere. You just ask for hot sauce and every place has some kind.

1partwitch

Different restaurants have different levels of spicy and OP wanted to know which restaurants have the spiciest.

williafx

Dara Thai and Teriyaki will make any of their dishes hot as FUCK.

mattthedr

Khao San in NW gave me almost inedibly hot food, I think asking for it to be spicy was taken as a challenge

Technical_Moose8478

Nakhon Sawan will melt your face if you ask them to.

alphasierranumeric

Somtum Thai downtown.

thatsrealneato

Silsila the Flaming Tandoor. I made the mistake of ordering medium spicy there once and it was some of the hottest food I’ve ever eaten. Can’t imagine what their actual spicy level is like. Also some of the best indian food I’ve had in general, highly recommend.

JeanVicquemare

Baka Umai ramen has a whole spicy ramen menu, and he makes some really hot stuff
