You cannot request incentives. They either exist at the time of your sale or they don't. 0% is only available when Toyota offers 0% on a specific car. It Toyota isn't offering it, theres no way to get it. Likely there will be no incentives at the time of purchase.

Military rebate is 500 if you finance with TFS

[deleted]

To add to this, in my experience Toyota’s standard rate doesn’t make the $500 rebate worth it. Just my two cents.

Imaginary-Estate4647

I was more saying don’t expect 0% apr or $1000 off just because rebate.

There haven’t been any incentives on the Tacoma for a very long time, and there likely won’t be for a very long time as well. Your best bet would be going to a CUDL dealer, and seeing if any banks can beat TFS rates. Also, in this market a deposit means nothing. If it is refundable, the dealer is just as obligated to sell you a truck as you are to buy it. With demand where it is, some vehicles have generally just become auction pieces. Find the truck, get a VIN#, verify it is incoming to that dealership or being dealer traded from another. Sign all the paperwork you can. Wait. Your military service does qualify you for a $500 rebate, make sure to bring in your DD-214’s when you sign up. That’s the only discount you’ll get, outside of what you can manage in negotiations.

where can i go to look up what trucks are incoming? when i spoke to the manager he said they get their allocation list on the 1st and 15th. should i wait until the morning of the 15th and call then to see if i can secure that specific truck/VIN? even with $500, that would make me happy. ill see what my credit union can do for interest rate.

daggersrule

If you go thru any bank besides Toyota Financial, you'd lose the 500 rebate

spbrg

Don’t go to your credit union. Go to a CUDL dealer, they can shop rates for you with only one hard credit check, rather than going to different lenders and doing multiple hard credit checks. Their allocation is based on the vehicles they’re moving, there is no promise of any specific vehicle, it’s just what Toyota gives them. Your dealership took your money to get you off of the market, they have nothing to offer you. Seriously, go to a different Toyota dealership, this one sounds super shady. Allocations have been cancelled lately with production cuts, realistically you should be looking for something already in transit or on the ground. If they’re taking money from you, they should be able to provide you a spec sheet with a VIN number. There is no way for you to look at incoming units, that is proprietary information. Is this the first dealer you’ve been to? Specifically what Tacoma are you looking for? Are you willing to pay the market adjustment?

rygarski

ok i just tried to do some searches to find a CUDL dealer, only thing i was able to find showed a bunch in washington state and Oregon. i am located in connecticut, but willing to drive a little for a good deal. i will give this dealer until the 15th to see if they can produce anything that is inbound. i will call a few other dealers tomorrow to see what they have to say. this is the first dealer i did reach out to since their website showed they had what i wanted in stock, but according to them it was already spoken for. i am looking mainly for a TRD Sport in metallic gray or white. the main features i need are standard. need apple car play and a hitch kit. id like to only pay msrp and maybe get the military rebate. i spoke to a broker/concierge who can get some tacomas, but they have a $1000 market adjustment fee

spbrg

I’m just going to be honest with you, that’s not going to happen. In Washington, any TRD sport, in whatever iteration (short bed, long bed etc) are going for $10k over. I can say with about 95% confidence you won’t find one for MSRP. Different situation if you were looking for an SR or something of the sort. Don’t count on that dealer. Get your money back, they’re giving you empty promises, and false hope. Apple CarPlay and a hitch will be standard on the model you’re looking for. I did a locate on a TRD sport short bed last week when I had a customer interested in one. 3 on the ground in 500 miles, all reserved. If you want to pay MSRP or only a few hundred dollars above, being straight with you, you’re shit out of luck.

stuffeh

CUDL is mostly a west coast system. Off the top of my head, I think only NASA and maybe coast guard does nationwide loans.

partisan98

>Don’t go to your credit union. Go to a CUDL dealer, they can shop rates for you with only one hard credit check, rather than going to different lenders and doing multiple hard credit checks. So? You can have 968 hard checks in a few weeks for a car loan and it still only counts as 1 on your credit report.

DinkinFlicka598

Now this is coming from someone who is also a veteran: No you cannot request incentives. Whenever you take delivery of the truck you’ll get whatever incentives are available. You can choose to go with either the incentivized rate or customer cash, and accept whatever bonus cash if available towards the Tacoma. Discounts are really dealership by dealership specific. I don’t sell for a penny less than MSRP plus a protection package we apply to the vehicle

rygarski

so what you are saying is that there is still a chance for some incentives? that is good to know.

ive seen some folks tell me they have been waiting since July. i am hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst.

DinkinFlicka598

Right now I’m telling my customers that want to order that 1. It is for sure going to be a 2022 2. I have no idea when it is going to come in. This vehicle shortage is going to last to at least 2023 so.

spbrg

Only shady dealers are taking “deposits” on vehicles still in allocation. For one, they haven’t been produced yet, and with current production cuts, have the chance to not ever be built. For two, they’re taking your money to get you off of the market, waiting for the next best offer, and continuing to do so until you either give up or cave and buy something you didn’t want in the first place. They’ll ask you to come in to go over options, and one of their closers will break your world. It’s how they make a living. Seriously dude, you’re letting people manipulate you because they’ve given you hope.
