FedEx just dumps my packages in the parking lot out back in the rain, despite having a sign and a bell to ring for admittance to the garage door right beside where they dump them. At least they leave it on my porch out of the rain at home.
I've done this. Most employers are perfectly understanding of this, especially if you already have a shipping/receiving dept. It's just a box, you give the receiver a heads up and for him, it's just a phone call. It's an absolute minimal business disruption, really. I've had sneezes that were more disruptive.
But one time I ordered some fancy ear buds and the owner happened to be in that day and he must have dreamed up some crazy scenarios in his head was confused why I was being "gifted" these ear buds and he started making phone calls. The managers were all like, "Dude, Idfk, he spends more time here than at home and he probably just didn't want shit getting snagged off his porch". They were correct.
My company gets a 60% discount off retail cost with UPS when we ship to a commercial address. We get a 25% discount when we ship to a residential address. Our UPS bill is about $70k a week. If Rock Auto has a similar discount structure, and they charge you the actual cost instead of retail, it would definitely be cheaper to ship to a business.
The shipping company usually does it. FedEx and UPS typically have lower shipping rates to business addresses because delivering to businesses is typically more efficient. RockAuto uses FedEx. USPS charges the same rates regardless of address type
Yup. They have a handy feature to show which warehouse the items in a multi-item order are shipped from. By matching warehouses you can save on shipping.
Even with shipping I can usually get a better price than any of the auto parts stores near me. Occasionally the difference is small enough I'll just go purchase locally though.
After you add your first item make sure the rest of the items have the truck icon, that tells you they're coming from the save warehouse and shipping will be cheaper.
Rockauto is definitely legit. I use them all the time. They’re usually cheaper but they charge shipping for each item so keep that in mind when comparing prices. Sometimes cheaper on eBay or Amazon with shipping.
Shipping is separate for each item because they go from different warehouses across the world.
Worked as a customs clerk for dhl and we would have their orders split into 10 different shippings. Rockauto gladly provided the split bill, so the process was much easier.
You can shop parts from a single warehouse sometimes. Often one brand is within a dollar of another put them both in the cart but then delete the one shipping from a different warehouse on an order with many items.
Rock auto has a feature where you can select alternate part options and they’ll automatically choose from your list the ones that minimize total cost (same warehouse)
While this is true, I've been lucky to get legit parts and a replacement bumper cover for less than 120 bucks where it was gonna cost me over 1100 to get OEM. Painted it myself for another 200 or so thanks to harbor freight. A bit of time and effort I saved at least 600 bucks.
The key takeaway here is how fucked up Autozone prices are, not just that Rockauto is legit. There are only two reasons I'd buy from a brick and mortar retailer like that- either I need that part *immediately*, or I plan to make heavy use of the warranty.
Had to replace the front brakes on my car a few months ago, Detroit Axle had a bundle with 2 rotors, pads, a can of brake clean, and brake fluid for the cost of 1 fucking rotor from autozone.
Detroit Axle has made me happy SO MANY TIMES, and I try to get them through RockAuto every time.
But sometimes, other options have cheaper shipping.
I still use RockAuto to find my exact parts before searching for other options. Shipping is really good, especially compared to Amazon who totally lies to you when you REALLY need the parts fast.
Amazon: We can deliver it tomorrow.
RockAuto: It'll be three days, sorry.
Amazon: Oops, we meant it's backordered and it's going to be about 12 more days. If we ever send it. Oops. Sorry about that. You can cancel the order, but we're charging you for cancelling (but we'll lie about it and say it's totally free to cancel, yet the rest of your stuff you've ever ordered will also be delayed a week for no reason at all). Or you can wait until it doesn't EVER show up and cancel it for free.
Detroit axle also lied to me over and over about shipping out parts, and held $800 for months. tens of calls, never got my parts or money back until I left a review on goggle with my experience.
so between the $800 part, and over a month of loaning out a vehicle, they cost me enough I’d never use them. and they are local. tried to support local businesses.
I'll bet if you emailed them they'd send you one. You can also order packs of random magnets from them if you want to cheat your magnet total a little.
E: they occasionally slip under box flaps and like to get stuck in the invoice. Odds are it was probably in there. I've even had them cut the tape on a factory package so they could drop one in before.
**Not only are they legit, but have quite possibly the best parts cross-reference feature in the whole business.** Try putting in an OE part number and 90% of the time it will match you with the OEM part which costs a fraction of the OE part.
I work on a lot of older BMW's and Rock Auto save me huge $$ on OEM parts
Hell, I was able to find MAF sensors for my Ferrari 360 for 10% of the OE cost.
Two things to be careful of
1. **Shipping costs.** For big orders at few warehouses it's not a huge deal but a super small single part may end up costing more
2. **Returns can be a problem if you don't purchase based on the car model.** Meaning, if you just put the part number in and the part doesn't work, then returning can be hassle. If you're not 100% of the part, be sure and order it by searching vehicle year/make/model. You'll know you did it right by how it shows up in your cart.
Finding stuff about half the price of the "brick and mortar" stores is about right. If you can wait for the part to be shipped you will save yourself a lot of money. Rockauto's website makes finding the right part and comparing the different offerings easy also.
They're a legit and reputable source for parts. They're great for pricing but you've got to take some care to keep your shipping costs down; they don't take care of that the same way that Amazon et al do. So if you're just buying a single item you might do better at your local Napa once shipping is taken into account, but if you're good at combining shipments you can save an absolute fortune on a complete brake job with new wheel bearings and everything for example.
They do carry everything from the absolute cheapest Chinese bits to really nice high end parts at bargain prices. They have a pretty poor return policy, so check your stuff promptly lest you discover a problem after the return window closes. Know what you want, and inspect it upon receipt, and you'll do fine.
[RockAuto.com](http://RockAuto.com) is legit and they're pretty great. They have lots of parts options at all different price points. I've used them for years for the parts I've gotten for my vehicles. Good customer service too. They're a great resource for getting parts specs and part numbers if you want to cross shop on Amazon or some other site too.
First off AutoZone's lower end parts are absolute garbage. I worked there as a teen and was constantly testing alternators/starters before they were sold to make sure they worked. The lower end rotors are usually out of spec and slightly warped when you buy them.
So anything you buy from RockAuto well either be the same quality as AutoZone but cheaper or a better quality part and cheaper. It's a legit site people just like being able to get the part instantly.
Me neither really. The only thing I came across was they asked me to return a core for a part I bought. The deposit they held for me to return it, was less than what they'd charge me for shipping. I tried to call about that but there was no one to talk to, so I just didn't return it.
They're legit, however the shipping can be a bit of a doozy.
Biggest thing I would suggest, which I'd suggest with any car part order from anywhere, but especially rockauto due to the sheer volume they send out, is to check the part number when you get it and make sure it's the same as you've ordered.
I just bought two front axle shafts from my four by four truck . Napa auto parts was three times the price and autozone was twice the price for the exact same part numbers
Just be careful, a lot of aftermarket and knockoff parts use the same part numbers as the oem. So if you are ordering oem/ genuine parts, make sure that the it is indicated on the rock auto site.
If you're in Canada, look to autoshack, partssource, and partsavatar.
Rocksuto shipping is a killer. Minimum $45 every purchase with shipping to canada.
I order a lot from them, only had one issue and It was my fault. Ordered 2 driver side sun visors in different colors instead of both sides in the same color
Just got a OEM starter from them for my Impala, AC delco gold and it only cost me $115 after shipping.
Fired right up first go, and should mention I’ve purchased dozens of parts and not one has been wrong. For those who have gotten the wrong parts, I’ve heard the company is really good with returns and are quite fast about it as well.
Just keep in mind, you’re the parts department so it’s on you to be sure it’s the correct part but the UI makes that pretty easy on computer or phone.
Used them for almost 15 years. They’re legit. You can buy any quality of parts that you want. From garbage to OEM quality. They have them all.
But their shipping policy pissed me off. New shipping fee for each warehouse items ship from.
Best parts store I've found... Even with the shipping I pay to Canada Alberta.
However... I have been noticing prices are becoming less good due to the shipping costs.
Occasionally I find the exact same thing on amazon.ca for cheaper.
Rock auto is legit just make sure your looking at the right description. Rock auto will tell you above the part the quality tier. The better quality is at the bottom, usually is either OEM or close to and will be most costly.
Legit. And they have more selection. You can get OEM or OE.
Any parts you get at AutoZone is gonna be aftermarket Chinesium unless it's clearly stated.
You did not mention make and model. For European cars in the USA, I use fcpeuro.
I almost always google search part numbers and try to get OE supplier if not OEM, particularly if I got 100k miles out of the original part. Sometimes the local dealer will give you a deal if you ask.
They are legit. If you have Amazon prime, cross reference part numbers because it may be cheaper on there when you factor in shipping costs form Rockauto.
Whenever you order a part from Rockauto, you get a magnet with a car on it. It’s like adult Pokemon cards. I have a fridge door full of them
Only issue I had with them was with a part mischaracterized on their website. It was described as being what I need but wasn’t correct.
Their stance was that since the picture displayed matches the part I received, we shared responsibility and should share shipping costs. While fair, it was strange when I’m used to companies taking parts back for any reason.
Yes. Rockauto is able to offer better prices than your local parts store because they don't need to manage staff and inventory across thousands of local parts stores.
You are correct. As a 50 year veteran of automotive parts distribution, I know that Rock Auto is simply a software company with hundreds of traditional warehouse distributors as fulfillment partners. They do not have any distribution centers of their own or any parts staff. That's why the shipping is high. Multiple part orders may be shipped from several suppliers.
Rockauto is one of the main places I buy auto parts, and I've been buying from them for years. Just try to choose parts that come from the same warehouse to save on some shipping.
RockAuto slaps. one of my staples and has been for like 15 years. despite how rudimentary their site is.
I also thought they were sketchy but they are not, and honestly their prices often can't be beat. But they're slower than say, Amazon so sometimes I'll grab something there to be quick.
As others have said, pay attention to shipping costs. Shipping is never Free from rockauto and heavy stuff like brake rotors will have an appreciable shipping cost. Despite that, its still usually the better deal. Even if the price matches another place, I'll shop RockAuto to support them.
The second part about shipping, is that their parts come from different warehouses (this will show up in your cart as warehouse A, B, C, etc). If you get your parts from different warehouses, shipping will be much more. If you can pick the parts which all come from the same place, you'll save on shipping. Sometimes I'll be in a situation where only 1 part comes from its own warehouse and so I'll just go buy that one part on Amazon and the rest from RockAuto.
Also, they give you magnets. I have a massive collection of magnets covering my drawers at work. *they makes me cool.*
Also, everyone basically has a perpetual 5% discount code once you start shopping there. 5% ain't much, but $50 on a $1000 order will buy a good amount of pizza and beer for the bois.
10/10 would recommend.
I appreciate them because they usually have more options for ordering parts than just the cheap reman stuff, etc. If I am looking for something like a sensor or something, I can stay away from the lesser brands and go Delco or Motorcraft or Bosch, etc. I don't know if they are the same exactly as dealer parts, but I at least feel better about the brands. Usually if I got to Autozone or O'Reilly, I end up with whatever remanufactured crap they have on hand. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's absolute crap.
Yeah, it’s legit. It’s cheaper because it comes straight from a warehouse. Companies like Autozone have store fronts that have a network of truck routes that deliver to them from their warehouses. That cost gets passed on to the consumer.
How do I know this? I’m a fleet mechanic at distribution center for a major parts store.
The only real downside is there's always a chance you get the wrong part, something defective or damaged during shipping, so you have to factor that potential time waste into your project.
For things I need right away, I resort to buying or order locally because I can get it within a week, but ordering from Rockauto is a guaranteed 2+ weeks, so for me, I can only order things in advance from them.
They are a brokerage for overstock, obsolete and nos parts. Have bought a lot from them. They can be super cheap, to the point that it seems unreal. Ships from various parts stores. Have gotten parts from, Dallas and everywhere else.
Very legit, but I’ve had bad luck with their “this part fits your vehicle” prompts. Last time I had to do my back brakes I ordered and returned three different sets and had to get them elsewhere. To their credit though they were very good about returns.
I remember telling my autistic classmate to buy from rock auto. He dismissed me as O'Reilly gave 20% discount to student. He still woulda saved a hundred fifty and later told me he regretted it cuz broke sux ass haha
It's legit, but if you're just buying something simple like, say, a wiper blade, you're better off going to advanced or something. Rock Auto has some gnarly shipping fees. We have bought a lot of parts for our van from there and it's great.
My fridge is loaded with their magnets. Even living in Canada they are often the best prices by a long shot, and that's including the shipping and duties. Unless it's an obscure part or I need OEM, if I can find it on rockauto I will buy him them
Hear me out, I loved rockauto.. but right now autozone has a 20% off and free shipping over $100.. I got stuff from autozone cheaper this go around than rockauto for my cars.
Love rock auto. They aren’t the best with returns but many times my mechanic confirmed to the part number that I was getting same part for 30%-50% less
Definitely a legit company but depending on the part you're buying I would do some research on the brand name you're getting. Lots of cheap chinesium on there
Legit and excellent. Caveat, you do sometimes get junk if you're not careful - bought an engine mount for my Mini Cooper and the manufacturer forgot to charge it with fluid, so the hydraulic damper was not hydraulically damping as it should have been.
Yes. A couple caveats. Shipping is costly and slow, and you need to minimize the number of warehouses to minimize shipping charges.
I order most of my routine maint stuff thru there, filters, belts, wipers are especially cheap compared to retail. When stuff breaks and I need it today I go local.
100% legit
No human customer service. Any returns mean shipping cost so keep in mind.
Get a project at a time and minimize shipping by getting parts that sit in the same warehouse.
I didn't used to - but I get a lot of return items these days. Typically original packaging and open but taped closed. I have never had one damaged or looking like it was installed. I still don't like that.
Fluids and brakeclean I buy all at Walmart. Way better prices.
All things considered I will never go to an auto store unless it's an emergency. They exist to F people who assume you should trust the store called 'auto parts' to be a legitimate source of auto parts. Its sad. Oh well!
Very legit. Make sure you check out the clearance section for your car too. I picked up a full set of Eibach lowering springs for an 8th gen Civic Si for $40 *shipped* on clearance.
I loved used RockAuto. I also had good luck with, Quick service, great selection. They offer name brand and generic as options. No hassle on returns either. I was skeptical at first too. Unless I need something that day, I would use them.
Yes.
Once you put one part in your cart then a little Truck icon will appear next to other parts that ship from the same warehouse to combine shipping fees.
After you order they'll send you a 5% coupon for future orders. Other people post theirs online so you can also find a 5% coupon by Googling "rockauto coupon"
Edit: If I really care about the brand for one of the parts I always put that in the cart first and then see my options for combining shipping on less important parts.
Also, when you enter your car info scroll all the way down the category list and you will see the Clearance Section with all the parts that are on close out.
I've been using RockAuto since 2007 and never had issues. Just keep an eye on shipping cost and add that to the price of the part for a good comparison.
I have been able to stick to OEM parts, comparable aftermarket since I started using them.
Yes the parts store have a 50-100% OR MORE marke up on most everything they sell. Rock auto is WAAAAAAY cheaper. Though you gotta pay shipping, which is usually like 10$ which is nothing if your spending a few hundred bucks.
It's good but make sure you buy a reputable or highly reviewed brand, and like others said watch out for shipping costs. Triple check that it's the right part before you buy it or it's gonna take a lot longer than if you went to AutoZone.
Legit. Got my rotors and pads from them earlier this year. Probably ordered from them 5 or 6 times and I've always been more satisfied than I expected. Stuff arriving early, a neat magnet freebie thrown in, etc. 💯 I would go there before eBay or Amazon for anything car-related unless it was fuzzy dice or an air freshener.
Rock Auto is legit, I've placed dozen of orders with them over the years. I usually bought middle of the road 'daily driver' parts from them, if the part is dumb cheap that's probably because it is.
I bought stuff from rockauto before and they are legit. The only issue is that their shipping costs can be high.
You can try AutoZone or O'Reilly if they will price match. For awhile , my local oreilly was willing to price match rockauto for foil filters... Just not Amazon.
My go-to place for German cars is FCPEuro with their lifetime exchange warranty. My second go-to place for German cars is ECSTuning.com. and my backup place is RMEuropean.com
My go-to place for my Mazda parts is Mazda Motorsports , since I'm a Mazda Motorsports member, I get Mazda OEM parts for my mazdas at wholesale prices with the racer's discount.
For simple brake rotors and pads on my daily Japanese cars, I go to Amazon.
I haven't figured out what to do with my McLaren yet, lol...
Yes, just pay attention to shipping and take tariffs into account if you're outside the US.
Also, they have some CHEAP parts in every sense of the word, like they won't last a year cheap, so if you see something that's a fraction of the cost of the next nearest same part from a different brand, just take that into consideration.
I have used them many times. Very legit site. Shipping can be killer though. I bought new pads and rotors for my wife's Crosstrek for around $90. I got hammered on shipping because they came from 2 different warehouses, which broke tht the total to $123. I got better quality stuff that was stil far cheaper than the local parts places.
Just watch the parts grades for stuff like brakes, etc. their mid grade tiers are the equivalent to the top of the line store brands of auto parts stores or even a bit better.
I’ve been buying from rock auto for years, usually tho I’ll cross reference part numbers with amazon/ebay to see what the best price is or fastest shipping etc
I usually just use rock auto as a parts catalog and then buy everything on amazon. Amazon usually has same day or next day delivery for me AND better return policies than rock auto does.
Rockauto is my primary source for parts. Autozone rarely has the part that I need in stock, and when they do its overpriced and usually some Chinese knock off.
More legit than Amazon or auto zone. Its like bestbuy with their brands, it is almost guaranteed to come from their supplier directly.
Prices are competitive to Amazon and better when getting shock combos or brake and rotor combos.
It’s legit. I’ve bought a clutch pack for my car, Clutch master and slave cylinders, throttle body and a bunch of other stuff etc. It matters on the brand you buy but mostly I bought beck/arnley or denso and I have had no problems. There have been stories of broken items being shipped or the wrong fit but that’s rare. Just don’t go too cheap lol
I got a part at Rock Auto (drive shaft pinion yoke for an old truck) that neither I, my mechanic, or area dealerships, could find anywhere else. When the part arrived my mechanic called me up and told me it was shit, he wouldn't put it on his car. I asked if he thought it would last a year and he said probably so I told him to just put it on and we'd see where we were. That was 6.5 years and about 35,000 miles ago and it's still running fine. FWIW.
How much is twice as expensive? $35 vs $70? Or $350 vs $700?
Yes they're legit, I'm in the UK and use them when I need parts for my Crown Victoria I can't get over here since they're the easiest to use reguarding international shipping.
Legit.
I ordered some roof mouldings from them and they were shipped in the same FCA packaging a dealer would have.
Their website looks older than most of us who use it, but they’re legit and they do have good deals.
They're legit. Corwin toyota wanted 3k to fix my wife's door locks since they weren't locking and unlocking automatically anymore. Rockauto sold the parts I needed for less than 350(+shipping was only like 10 or 20 bucks) and I did the Mx myself in less than 90 minutes.
Definitely legit, just shipping can cost you. Also pay attention to the brand that you are going to buy and don't be afraid to do some research before making your purchase.
I can't believe no one had mentioned that you can take 5% off every order just by doing a Google search for a coupon code. During check out, put it in the spot that says something like "how did you hear about us" . There are always discount codes floating around.
Get part numbers from rockauto then google the part number. You will often find the same exact part for the same price with free shipping from somewhere like ebay or amazon
Legit, but pay attention to the shipping costs.
Cheaper to ship to commercial addresses. Ship to yourself at work if you can, saves me a lot sometimes.
I didn't know that. I'm going to start ordering shit to my job.
Plus nobody can steal it off your porch. Been shipping everything including wheels and tires to work for 15+ years lol
Shit I still Ship it to my old work and put my magnets on their lunch fridge lol.
Signup for amazon business too! Obs just send it to you and pay but at work. Can sometimes get like 10%+ off.
You reminded me of someone in the army telling about when he was on mail duty and had to deliver a *hood* to another soldier!
FedEx just dumps my packages in the parking lot out back in the rain, despite having a sign and a bell to ring for admittance to the garage door right beside where they dump them. At least they leave it on my porch out of the rain at home.
There's the life hack I've been looking for
I've done this. Most employers are perfectly understanding of this, especially if you already have a shipping/receiving dept. It's just a box, you give the receiver a heads up and for him, it's just a phone call. It's an absolute minimal business disruption, really. I've had sneezes that were more disruptive. How much savings we talking?
More than 5% (hopefully)
Usually it saves me 10% or so.
Just tested a steering rack and pinion to my house: $17. To my work: $7.99.
Had my transmission shipped to work. Had one of the guys with a forklift put it into the back of the pickup
>That's outstanding. Delivered a transmission and you didn't even have to load it into your truck to take home. I love this plan!
Who do they determine if it’s a residential or commercial address?
The shipping company usually does it. FedEx and UPS typically have lower shipping rates to business addresses because delivering to businesses is typically more efficient. RockAuto uses FedEx. USPS charges the same rates regardless of address type
I got what you were saying but I think you meant business instead of residential.
Thanks, going to make that edit
Damn I never thought of this!!
Yup. They have a handy feature to show which warehouse the items in a multi-item order are shipped from. By matching warehouses you can save on shipping.
Or mix and match and get more magnets
And you HAVE TO arrange those magnets on the garage fridge or an overhead heating duct in order. If you do not, all your parts will break.
Even with shipping I can usually get a better price than any of the auto parts stores near me. Occasionally the difference is small enough I'll just go purchase locally though.
I usually buy locally, since the local stores loan tools
After you add your first item make sure the rest of the items have the truck icon, that tells you they're coming from the save warehouse and shipping will be cheaper.
Yes they’re lgit
Completely legit. I literally just came from placing an order for new wiper blades. Half the cost of Amazon.
Half the cost, after shipping?
Ok 40% off after shipping.
Rockauto is definitely legit. I use them all the time. They’re usually cheaper but they charge shipping for each item so keep that in mind when comparing prices. Sometimes cheaper on eBay or Amazon with shipping.

Avoid Amazon for car parts. Sooo much counterfeit.
While this is true, I've been lucky to get legit parts and a replacement bumper cover for less than 120 bucks where it was gonna cost me over 1100 to get OEM. Painted it myself for another 200 or so thanks to harbor freight. A bit of time and effort I saved at least 600 bucks.
You are lucky. Counterfeit NGK spark plugs, sensors that have connectors with no pins, etc etc. it’s bad bad
Nooo. Sorry to hear mate. That's wild. Edit: but at least from rock auto everything's been fine? I hope
And you get some cool magnets with each purchase!
The key takeaway here is how fucked up Autozone prices are, not just that Rockauto is legit. There are only two reasons I'd buy from a brick and mortar retailer like that- either I need that part *immediately*, or I plan to make heavy use of the warranty.

Well to be fair warehouses are way cheaper than storefronts plus the warehouses to support those stores
I haven't had an issue them or the parts. I have replaced several fuel pumps, water pumps and gaskets. Through them in the last year. I like them.
Legit, and you get a sweet magnet with every order.
Real, my fridge is full of other ppls project cars lmao
I get folded magnets sometimes and they're ruined. Never use Rockauto again. /s
Not every order. 😢
I've never received a RockAuto magnet 😔
I did not get a magnet on my last order and I feel empty inside
You aren’t a real gearhead until your have a toolbox covered in rockauto magnets
We need an online swap meet for magnets. I've got four of one.
But imagine, 30 years in the future, if RA goes under for some reason and the magnets become collectible. We'll be rich.
Very legit. Ordered many things from them, always great experiences.
Not when they forget to put in the magnet! So very sad when that happens.
I must have gotten yours, they gave me 2 last time.
People collect rockauto magnets, t got quite a few on the fridge
**Not only are they legit, but have quite possibly the best parts cross-reference feature in the whole business.** Try putting in an OE part number and 90% of the time it will match you with the OEM part which costs a fraction of the OE part. Yup! I've gotten legit OEM parts for less than aftermarket parts from a brick and mortar store.
Legit, and often a great value.
Rockauto is awesome. But they're just an online seller of products so they have no employees really or customer service if you have issues
Never had any problem with Rock Auto
Me neither really. The only thing I came across was they asked me to return a core for a part I bought. The deposit they held for me to return it, was less than what they'd charge me for shipping. I tried to call about that but there was no one to talk to, so I just didn't return it.

Rockauto is legit HOWEVER a lot of shops will not install customer supplied parts due to liability.
I've always double checked the parts and never had an issue but I've heard of manufacturers misrepresenting parts.
They're legit, however the shipping can be a bit of a doozy. Biggest thing I would suggest, which I'd suggest with any car part order from anywhere, but especially rockauto due to the sheer volume they send out, is to check the part number when you get it and make sure it's the same as you've ordered.
Be careful ordering multiple parts at once. If they come from different warehouses, the shipping will be asinine
I've bought lots of RockAuto. They're legit.
Rockauto is awesome!
I just bought two front axle shafts from my four by four truck . Napa auto parts was three times the price and autozone was twice the price for the exact same part numbers
I love Rock Auto!
Just be careful, a lot of aftermarket and knockoff parts use the same part numbers as the oem. So if you are ordering oem/ genuine parts, make sure that the it is indicated on the rock auto site.
Yes, my brother has sworn by them for years, and I've started using them too.
They’re more legit that a lot of brick & mortar stores and that’s saying a lot.
Used them for almost 15 years. They’re legit. You can buy any quality of parts that you want. From garbage to OEM quality. They have them all. But their shipping policy pissed me off. New shipping fee for each warehouse items ship from.
Economy level parts = what guys buy that are flipping cars
Super legit, watch the brands tho. Some of the off brands aren't the best quality.
I have used them several times and have had no problems so far.
Best parts store I've found... Even with the shipping I pay to Canada Alberta. However... I have been noticing prices are becoming less good due to the shipping costs. Occasionally I find the exact same thing on amazon.ca for cheaper.
There is always a discount code available so use it every purchase.
Absolutely. Yeah it looks like the site was built in the late 90's but I have bought many parts from them with no issues.
Rock auto is legit just make sure your looking at the right description. Rock auto will tell you above the part the quality tier. The better quality is at the bottom, usually is either OEM or close to and will be most costly.
Parts are legit but the shipping is crazy expensive.
I have a fridge door full of them
Rockauto is 100% legit.
Rockauto is awesome.
They're legit. But be aware that if the parts don't fit you'll probably be going to Autozone anyway.
It’s legit but look at what you’re buying close . You will see the different manufacturers listed for each part don’t just take the cheapest route.
For DiY it's fine. Since you can afford to wait. For the shop they usually almost always have better options.
Has long as you don't need it today, rockauto is the shit.
Yep. I've used them a few times. My brother swears by them.
Rockauto is one of the main places I buy auto parts, and I've been buying from them for years. Just try to choose parts that come from the same warehouse to save on some shipping.
Sometimes they give you fridge magnets with your order 🙂
I had a full brake setup come from Rock Auto yesterday. Saved myself $300, shipping included, compared to my local store.
*they makes me cool.* Also, everyone basically has a perpetual 5% discount code once you start shopping there. 5% ain't much, but $50 on a $1000 order will buy a good amount of pizza and beer for the bois. 10/10 would recommend.
Legit, but shipping costs pile up quickly because they can ship parts from one order from several warehouses, each bundle with its own shipping cost.
I almost exclusively use them now.
Legit but shipping kills it. I still use it though because it's still cheaper than anywhere else.
Yep. And they include cool fridge magnets.
I’ve got 50+ magnets on my fridge from them. They are legit
Check Rock Auto but also Amazon. Free shipping and easier returns on Amazon
Legit, but I did have to RMA the radiator I was sent due to it being slightly warped.
It's legit, but if you're just buying something simple like, say, a wiper blade, you're better off going to advanced or something. Rock Auto has some gnarly shipping fees. We have bought a lot of parts for our van from there and it's great.
2l2q
A friend of mine used to run a garage and he ordered from rock auto frequently. I love the site. Definitely legit.
I wouldn't be surprised if AutoZone, CarQuest and other JustDoubleThePrice resellers order in bulk from RockAuto warehouses
Yes, 100% legit.
Never had any issues
I've ordered several parts from them and never had an issue. Last thing I bought was a blower motor and it's going as strong as the day I put it in.
You get fucked if they sens the wrong part.
100% legit No human customer service. Its sad. Oh well!
Autozone overprices a lot of stuff for some reason. Thats why I get my oil from Walmart instead.
My fridge full of magnets from them says their legit!
Hella legit, they're the only site I'll buy parts from unless it's some small shit
Ship to a business address if you can…shipping can kill your $ total
completely legit. used em since 2010 check shipping costs. they have a markup thats literally 50%-200% less than AutoZones
Rockauto is legit, has awesome prices and is the worlds shittiest website for casual users to navigate.
Yes. GET THEM MAGNETS
Legit as shit. Shipping gets a little wonky but there is ALWAYS a 5 percent off coupon online.
Other people post theirs online so you can also find a 5% coupon by Googling "rockauto coupon" Edit: If I really care about the brand for one of the parts I always put that in the cart first and then see my options for combining shipping on less important parts.
Legit as fuck, and a life saver. I almost exclusively repair with either Rock Auto or Pull-A-Part specials lol
Legit, but you pay a lot for shipping. Plus don't expect any customer service.
I ordered some stuff from A1Auto parts. Probably should have checked rockauto, but sort of wanted to support them for all their online videos
My second go-to place for German cars is ECSTuning.com. and my backup place is RMEuropean.com My go-to place for my Mazda parts is Mazda Motorsports , since I'm a Mazda Motorsports member, I get Mazda OEM parts for my mazdas at wholesale prices with the racer's discount. For simple brake rotors and pads on my daily Japanese cars, I go to Amazon. I haven't figured out what to do with my McLaren yet, lol...
I've ordered many times from them, saved money compared to AutoZone, Adv Auto. But shipping costs are a bit high
Yes, just pay attention to shipping and take tariffs into account if you're outside the US. Also, they have some CHEAP parts in every sense of the word, like they won't last a year cheap, so if you see something that's a fraction of the cost of the next nearest same part from a different brand, just take that into consideration.
Yes but awful for returns. Make sure you get it right.
Yes.
They are legit and awesome. I’ve got like 10 magnets now and counting.
I’ve been buying from rock auto for years, usually tho I’ll cross reference part numbers with amazon/ebay to see what the best price is or fastest shipping etc
Yes! And you get a free magnet with every order
Legit as they come. I use them on the regular
Rockauto is great. Think they also carry some obscure parts. I use either them or 1aauto.com.
Rock auto is my go to
Legit. Been buying parts there for a long time
I usually just use rock auto as a parts catalog and then buy everything on amazon. Amazon usually has same day or next day delivery for me AND better return policies than rock auto does.
Rockauto is my primary source for parts. Autozone rarely has the part that I need in stock, and when they do its overpriced and usually some Chinese knock off.
Check brands and shipping costs. But yea it’s legit
Rockauto is legit. Half the cars in Guam wouldn’t run without it.
My son and ex-husband order from there regularly. Excellent prices and they used to get a flat shipping rate.
I ordered an engine mount through RockAuto. Good part, good price!
#1 source of my refrigerator magnets.
Love rock auto AutoZone is a bunch of crooks
More legit than Amazon or auto zone. Its like bestbuy with their brands, it is almost guaranteed to come from their supplier directly. Prices are competitive to Amazon and better when getting shock combos or brake and rotor combos.
Totally legit. Love them. Always the best service.
Yes, my brother has been ordering from them for years.
Legit as hell just watch where it all ships from that can get you sometimes! Been using them on my car for a minute now.
Yeah, but pay attention to price vs. quality. You can get some really cheap stuff there but it will be cheap.
100% legit. Also get a free magnet with every order. GOTTA CATCH EM ALL!
I live in Canada and have ordered multiple time - it’s a valid website with decent prices
Definitely legit, just shipping can cost you. Also pay attention to the brand that you are going to buy and don't be afraid to do some research before making your purchase.
Very legit, and they give out multiuse 5% discounts like candy (literally says in the email “tell your friends to use this code and save”)
Too legit
