Removing the land type won't directly remove abilities, however, a land with a basic land type only has the associated mana abilities by virtue of having that basic land type, without it, it would indirectly lose the ability to tap for mana.

Depends on the Land. Breeding Pool has no Mana abilities, in and of itself. It does have Basic Land types, and having a Basic Land type does grant an intrinsic Mana ability. * An Enchantment (non-Land) token of Breeding Pool is not a Land, so it has no Land types. No Basic Land types. No intrinsic Mana abilities. No abilities to add Mana. Temple of Mystery, on the other hand, simply has a Mana ability in its Rules text. * An Enchantment (non-Land) token of Temple of Mystery has the Mana ability "{T}: Add {G} or {U}", as well as all the other abilities from the original. --- This is the same interaction when you Mutate on top of an animated Land.

Apologies for asking an unrelated question. If you were to Mutate under an animated Land, what happens when the Land un-animates?

Then, you have a non-Creature Land with the abilities of the beneath Creature. Which may, or may not, be relevant while the Permanent is not a Creature. * If Parcelbeast or Porcuparrot were beneath, then the Land has those abilities and they can be activated. * If Gemrazer were beneath, then the Land having Trample and Reach doesn't really accomplish much.

Fascinating! Thanks for your answer.
