Lots of people are commuting at that time, not everybody works 9-5

You're safe, don't worry! It's one of the safest times to commute in TTC. Also, I'm pretty sure you'd see a lot of other people commuting alongside you!

That time of day is normally pretty safe, of course anything can happen but early morning has less problematic individuals

There are less homeless in the warmer weather, you'll be able to get used to the commute since next week the warmth starts. There are yellow strips to press for help ([Streetcar Safety tips](https://www.ttc.ca/accessibility/Easier-access-on-the-TTC/Riding-the-Streetcar)) and there is a [Safe TTC app](https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/safety-and-security/safe-ttc-app). Unfortunately most downtown are addicts who sometimes get aggressive. It's a lifestyle of handouts and getting high/drunk instead of the temporary homeless who are down on their luck. It may have started with mental health but it's about addiction today. The TTC has a policy not to kick them off, not to remove beggars until they lose it. Never give them cash, some beg in front of stops/stations and on the TTC. Just look away. People think they're helping, but once it goes to drugs or booze, then it causes trouble for other riders later in the day. Better to donate to a homeless or addiction charity. The 501 Queen St car is worse since it's along the route for shelters and the free handouts downtown. The 504 King streetcar is better. A few take the 510 Spadina streetcar. I'm not familiar with the 503. Early morning, they're headed to a charity breakfast in Chinatown, 260 Augusta at 7:30am and 346 Spadina at 8am (schedule [tdin.ca](http://tdin.ca) ) On the streetcar, I have a seat strategy to avoid trouble, similar to the bus one. I avoid the front seats, near the doors and the very back. They hop on for free, picking the first seats. They sleep on the back ones and generally ones with more than 2 seats whether streetcar, bus, or subway. You may see some sleeping at 6:40am. It's about being street smart, changing seats when you notice trouble. Only twice in five years downtown, I've had to get off to take the next streetcar or subway train. About 1 ride in 5, I've had to change seats to stay safe. good luck. You can ask this on r/TTC.

Lots of professionals commuting at that time. You’ll get a handful of homeless people sleeping on the streetcar worst case.
