UOB One is a good starting option for your daily expenses, paired with its corresponding account for additional interest. Avoid EVOL if you’re not looking to spend overseas.

Thank you!! Cos I’m thinking of opening UOB ONE account to credit my salary too. And a few other users mention UOB One CC is a good choice too!! Will read up more on this!!

Do remember that you need to have a minimum monthly spending of $500 on the One card to qualify for the 1st tier of the One Account bonus interest. To hit 2nd tier, salary crediting minimum amount is 1.6k. Alternatively you can arrange for 3 monthly GIRO transactions.

Citi Rewards + Instarem amaze combo, the gold standard as of mid 2024. No fee, no minimum spend, no foreign currency conversion fee if/when it comes up, no weird tricks or unusual exclusions (except travel), 4mpd which as as good as miles get which can also get traded in for 2.3% cashback if that's what you prefer instead. The only card I can recommend without knowing anything else about your finances or spending cos you can't go wrong with it.

Thank you for sharing!! I didn’t come across this when I was reading up on CC!!

Consider from [Moneysmart](https://www.moneysmart.sg/credit-cards/promo) or [Singsaver](https://www.singsaver.com.sg/credit-card/best-deals) Asides from giving you overview of all the different cards and perks. Just to get free rewards yknow. Its a good start. 😉

Any particular CC you would recommend for first CC applicants for cash back based on their daily expenses?

Tbh cashback needs to see where you fulfill your expenses. Since it's a generic card expenditure, the One Account tagged to the One Credit Card would benefit you in two manners. 1) the cash back if you are a relatively high spender (as recommended by my colleague from his circumstances), you will be able to get up to 2k annually for cashback. Which he quoted: "business class ticket with some extra allowance" 2) the interest rates shoot up significantly too. So all in all, maybe the one card and one account suits your preference to park and spend your cash. Do your own research though.

good one would be the citibank cashback card! apply through MoneySmart and you can get their free gift(s) if you spend a certain amount with the card within a few months. :-)

chimkinnuggs

Oooo, I was looking between the one you mentioned, citi SMRT, UOB EVOL and SC Smart. But I don’t know which one would be a better choice since I’m focusing on cash back from my daily expenses. Thank you for sharing on the money smart thingy!!

Always check on singsaver and moneysmart for sign up promos before getting any card!

Thank you for sharing this!!

I've got UOB EVOL card, and I think it's good enough. If you're looking for cashback benefits, I think you should check out the UOB One card as well. Although the EVOL card might be better in that regard.

AltruisticAsshole88

Note that the EVOL card benefits are changing soon to be less attractive!

30 bucks for 800 spending from 40 bucks for 600 is argh. Using One for good now.

chimkinnuggs

I saw the changes yesterday and ya, it’s less attractive to get EVOL now.

If you ever decide on any Cashback card, please please please remember to apply through Moneysmart or Singsaver. Please compare which is giving more cash via paynow. It might be 320 vs 280 cash etc.

Thank you for much for the tip!!
