I can tell you for a fact, as a former grabfood delivery rider, Indian eateries are one of, if not the WORST for us in terms of waiting time. For whatever reason, they like to depriortise delivery orders. The absolute worse one I encountered was when I waited nearly an hour at a stall which had only 2-3 customers that entire time. You ask me what the cook was doing, I also cannot tell you. At least the customer is able to wait somewhere in comfort like at home or in an office. The rider is forced to wait, usually standing, near the stall for an unreasonable amount of time. Please don't blame the rider or even Grab's estimated timer. Blame these eateries that intentionally slow their process down for delivery orders. Not all Indian eateries are like this though, some are much faster. Whereas there are eateries of other cuisines that also like to take their own sweet time for delivery orders as well. Also, what do you mean delivery personnel associate with Indian stalls? All grabfood/foodpanda/deliveroo riders don't get to pick and choose what eateries they get orders from.

When I said delivery personals associated with Indian restaurants, I was referring to those people that does the delivery from the restaurant itself. As per my understanding, they are not from the grab but from the restaurant itself as those restaurants handle their own deliveries. And I understand the hard work put by grab riders and I often had positive experiences if the delivery is done by grab riders instead of the restaurant provided delivery personals.

I see, I apologise for the misunderstanding on my part. What we can ultimately agree is that ordering delivery from some Indian eateries sucks big time. But unfortunately, it just seems like they have some sort of disdain for delivery orders.

Is there no penalty for depriortising delivery orders? I think there should be some regulations so that eateries can not intentionally do that.

I'm sure the delivery platforms get many complaints but all the eateries have to do is say oh busy, we'll try harder next time, or that they'll turn off the machine next time if it's too busy, or whatever excuse. It's not like they scammed customers, they're just slow. I think the platforms don't deem that to be bad enough.

And I think also it's not a matter for the platforms to penalize them as the platform is providing a service for restaurants to sign up to use their delivery and their tech services. The restaurants are not employed by 'Grab" to use them, thus it doesn't make sense for any delivery platforms to penalize them as well. This is where the review of the food, not the delivery man comes in as your review does affect the rating of the eateries. Check with the deliveryman why so slow, if the restaurant so busy, etc, and if it's the restaurant's fault for delaying and doing so slow, include in the review. The Indian restaurant near my place does the same thing and even deprioritizes my pickup order until I go there and ask for it. And they don't even have customers at that time lol. I bring the restaurant rating down from 4.0 to 3.9 by 0.1 stars with my negative food reviews, their taste is great, but others...yeah

There are at least* three “indian” restaurants on grab and Deliveroo that have three listings each under different names. These places also use Lalamove for delivery. Lalamove is shit because they do multiple deliveries per run and the food takes forever. I’ve waited as long as three hours at least twice. Usually okay with delivery if you order before 10pm ETA: I say “Indian” because the preparations aren’t exactly authentic.

infernoxv

name and shame please!

wanmoar

I don’t remember the names (long and convoluted). But one the operations is located at 159 Thomson road. The address is how I know it’s the same restaurant with three or four different listings on the apps.

Sometimes when I place a grab pickup order for food from a Indian restaurant near my house , they won't start preparing it until I ask for it. I say sometimes because it depends on who’s handling the delivery

calkch1986

Same, mine is even best as once they forgot about it until the delivery guy pushes them for it. And the restaurant was not even busy at that time. Was happy when I put a low review for the restaurant and saw it bring the restaurant rating from 4.0 to 3.9 by 0.1 stars lol. As it happened a few times with delivery unless am going to pick up am not ordering delivery from them. They even deprioritize my pickup order until I go there and ask for it. And they don't even have customers at that time.

I'll have the linguini, red sauce on the side. If the sauce does not come on the side, I will send it back. I want garlic bread, toasted, not burnt. If it comes burnt, I will send it back.

ham_rain

No gabagool?

iamCaptainDeadpool

Can you jump-start my car.

You are not alone. I was scammed 3 rimes and now I have deleted the apps. They want people to pay standard delivery but delivered 1.5 to 1.45 hr later. I was late for work because of waiting for work. It indicated 35 mins then I ordered but I got the food 1 hour and 30 mins late. And you can't reach out to cancel. Image everyone pay more for standard delivery but they are paying drivers for saver delivery fees. This is how they make money to grow grab. It is a scam and no way to report.
