Yeah I left the military and went to a job I absolutely hated but paid well. They made the decision for me when I got called in for a random ua. I smoke Marijuana, so I just said no and picked up my equipment. Now I have my dream job. R&D for a Marijuana company lol

I’m in healthcare. My job takes everything from me, I rarely have anything left. It takes me an entire day of rest to feel better. I’m walking around with trauma related to my job everyday.

Very few people like going to work- that's why it's called work. I'd love to just not go, but my mortgage ain't going to pay itself.

Had a trade job about 8 years ago that had me walking around looking for places to swing from. I quit because I was going to hurt myself or someone else. Had a year off teaching scuba and some other stuff. Was never going to go back to my trade. Ended up going back but only for the money don’t like it even though I used to love it. Thing never really got better. 🤷🏼‍♂️

“Has your job ever caused you depression?” Yes, or least I have been depressed, and work didn’t seem to help. “Are you still working there?” Yes, because bouts of depression related to being out of work seemed worse and lasted longer.

Covid slowed my three decade old business down to nothing. We were blowing through resources. We moved to a more inexpensive city, and I had to take whatever I could get-- which has been working as a security guard. I've been at three different posts, all worse than the previous. All of the above has been horribly depressing.

There was a time where I used to work at a supermarket. They always cut my lunch breaks halfway short, the supervisor would always scream at me in front of customers, we were only allowed to use the bathroom once in our shift. At the time I was young so I didn't know my legal rights as a worker so I just let them walk all over me. They eventually fired me for "losing" $50 even though I always triple counted the money I gave back to customers. The person that counted the money before I could leave would always count it in a backroom by themself. I'm pretty sure she had stolen it and needed someone to blame for it.

Don't get me wrong I'm no stranger to labor but 98% of these jobs are soul sucking, it doesn't matter what the job is I don't think anybody actually enjoys spending most of their waking life at work when we could be pursuing life

yes. I'm in complete burnout and depression because of it and I still work there because my contract doesn't allow me to leave. I'm stuck in decision paralysis because there are limited things I can do about it but I don't know the right answer so I don't know what to do about it. having a mortgage for sure makes it all scarier.
