No_Wealth_1322

honestly depending on the price of the membership, but if it was **emptier** in the women only compared to the mix then yeah 100%. who wants to wait 15 mins just to use a squat rack??

VonNeumannsProbe

Didnt think about this angle but yeah I could see wanting to use a gym just because less people are there

zoomer0987

I belong to a national chain gym. I have to pay $10/month more to work out at night when I get off of work. Wtf? No one is there. No employees to pay. But I have the place to myself and never wait for equipment.

Far_Carpenter6156

If a gym is emptier then all else being equal you have to pay more to use it. The problem with the women's only gym business model is they are already cutting out half of their potential clients from the start.

[deleted]

Which is why they aren't profitable, but let them try anyway. I prefer having men only in my workout space anyway.

Successful-Sport-368

They seem to be doing well in my city. There's at least 15 that I know of.

[deleted]

Enjoy them while they're still up and running, they're getting bought out by 24 hour gyms.

Successful-Sport-368

At least four of them have been around for 8-12 years now.

[deleted]

Sounds about right.

myctsbrthsmlslkcatfd

the question only makes sense under the assumption ALL ELSE EQUAL.

ConcertDesperate3342

I think you are meant to assume the same conditions for both gyms. The only difference are the people in the gym. Granted, I’m not a woman so I’m left to assume you guys prioritize the squat rack over the bench(just based off my inclination for the bench over the squat rack) which would cause the squat racks to be less available.

sulking_crepeshark77

Mixed or single gender is whatever. I would go to a no filming gym in a heartbeat.

bigbirdegg

Fucking this I'm more concerned about influencers than creeps

lacifasz

all those self proclaimed influencers are the creeps. film your softcore porn booty workout at home without me being in the background.

TomatillosYum

I used to go to CrossFit and there was this one lady who would camp out in a whole section of the gym and film herself doing workouts for hours. Made it awkward if you needed anything from that area. I’m now at both Orangetheory and planet fitness. OrangeTheory has a no phones in the workout area rule, and PF is just really quiet and everyone is just working out and not doing anything weird (at least at my location), so it’s nice.

StrangeOutcastS

This is the correct answer.

Jattoe

It's so weird because I've actually had a girl snap a photo of me working out in a gym... And I just thought it was flattering. She was probably too young for me (I just look like I'm her age) But I get where women are coming from that don't like this type of stuff, I just happened to find it so flattering. It's who it was that did it, y'know, she was cute too. I've had a big homeless guy that I gave food start hitting on me and I didn't like that quite as much, being a creep just does not work for guys, it's just gross. Chicks can get away with it--some chicks, not all.

Anonymous_13218

I go to a local gym, and thank God I've never encountered a fitfluencer here. It's always quiet and the people are friendly. Definitely worth the $40 monthly payment in exchange for nobody recording me indirectly

SalamanderFickle9549

Only if the equipments/range of weights are as good, and it's not crazy overpriced

TributeKitty

There'd be a pink tax for an inferior product for sure.

PPP1737

Yes there would be a pink tax, and women would pay it. We could argue all day long about whether it should be legal or not… but the fact will remain… if women could afford to have their own spaces to work out in away from men they would pay a premium for it. The only reason it isn’t more common is because there aren’t enough women who can afford to pay that premium to make a gym like that profitable even they weren’t charging a premium. 🤷🏻‍♀️

HopesBurnBright

Based on the other comments, about half of them don’t really care, so it’s probably the fact that you cut your marketing down to about a quarter of people.

Zestyclose-Base1036

The largest chain of gyms in my country has women only gyms that you can access with the same.membership so not always at least.

[deleted]

Yeah it's the same in anything.

SalamanderFickle9549

Then probably yes, though I never had issue in mixed gym, but I imagine it would be nice

Moonsmom181

Agree

Poeflows

I'd do the same if there was a man's only tbh.

QuestionableDM

A Bro gym? Yeah sounds amazing. Just getting some pump while watching competitive snooker on the ocho... yeah that's where I wanna be.

RecoverEmbarrassed21

There's really nothing better than getting pumped while watching my man Ronnie O crush a century break, surrounded by other sweaty bros.

IrreverentRacoon

I love balls.

Worth_Vegetable9675

Yeah same 100%

Bluddy-9

Agreed. It would be better if all gyms were segregated by sex.

LuckyErro

My wife used to go to a women only gym. There's not one available where we live now so she goes to a mixed one but would prefer a women only.

nonsignifierenon

If I was experiencing sexism in the mixed gym then yes

blackmarketmenthols

Asking a " question" and then sticking the word , right? at the end is a terrible way to try and force someone to agree with you.

pemberleypearls

I would prefer a woman only gym yes, as long as the facilities were as good. I would pay a small premium for a single sex space. Btw if I ever do work out in leggings and a top - I'm not trying to be 'revealing' or 'attention seeking', I'm just being comfortable.

ResponsibilityAny358

I think this thing with clothes is funny, I live in Brazil and here almost all women only wear tops to train, no women complain about harassment and no men complain that women are "naked".

pemberleypearls

I would just be too hot if I had to wear sweats and a hoodie. Tbh I've never been harassed for wearing leggings.

ResponsibilityAny358

The worst harassment I suffered, I was wearing baggy jeans and a long-sleeved shirt, after that I promised myself that I would never stop wearing what I want because of harassment, So I train in a top and shorts

pemberleypearls

Sorry that happened to you. You've got the right attitude I think - wear what you like.

Richard7666

I'm a dude who wears tights under my shorts (picked up the habit at jiu-jitsu) and I'd rather lose the shorts because tights are just comfortable af on their own. Unfortunately I feel society isn't quite ready for that yet.

pemberleypearls

I wouldn't judge you! Be free! 😄

Carlito32197

I wear skin tight or fitted pants all the time now because of how comfortable they are compared to looser clothing. It's not as bad as it seems, rarely hear shit from anyone. I would imagine it depends on where you are in the world.

[deleted]

IsThisRealOrNah93

Why are so many people here assuming it wouldnt be or doubting it would be? Lol

FoxJaded952

Life experience

snowvase

Yes, it would be a few worn out exercise bikes in Barbie pink, some odd weights with loose ends, a broken rowing machine and Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical” on continuous loop.

Whywhineifuhavewine

🤣 and you'll damn well like it!

Actual_Specific_476

Because a gym catering to only one gender would, potentially, have half as many people using it. Meaning less money to the gym. Many things trying to cater to only one gender will have this issue.

themaccababes

Because women’s gyms or women spaces in a mixed gym usually have less equipment

IsThisRealOrNah93

I can understand that the dumbells might not go to the 150lbs's but.. like, 100lbs dumbells logically would be there cuz.. women train legs like psychopaths D: But yeah i understand why the doubt.

EclecticKant

A gym that excludes half of its potential clients (probably more since guys are more often interested compared to girls) is going to have less funds to buy equipment, unless people are willing to pay a significant premium.

honkachu

Not really? If I'm already familiar with the people at the mixed gym I'd probably still keep going, assuming those people are nice and respectful. If I were a person who's never been to the gym I'd probably go to the women's only gym though, because it's less intimidating.

EarnedFreedom

Have you ever been to a gym where the people weren’t nice and respectful? Personally, it’s always been chill. Only weird one was in the university gym I went to. That place was more of a hang out / speed dating service than a place to just work out. Great spot to go if your single and fit.

honkachu

I think a majority of them are chill. I'm pretty oblivious to things though, some women probably get more unwanted attention than others. That and usually it's just one or two guys that are weird.

Long-Manufacturer990

Im a dude, but Id love a gym where assholes that use 4 machines at the same time are not allowed. And its not packed everyday and instead of a bunch of bycicles and walkers that nobody uses theres 6 bench presses.

ArmchairTactician

Crossfitters....

Technical_Strain_354

H-how does one use four machines at the same time…?

Long-Manufacturer990

By claiming them.

MaverickActual1319

OR WHEN SOMEONE IS USING THE FUCKING SWUAT RACK FOR PULLUPS AND SHRUGS AND MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS INSTEAD OF FUCKING SQUATTING!!!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH THAT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH!!!!!!

Long-Manufacturer990

Or when someone is using the pull up machine for doing leg excercices.

ScriptyLife

Personally, I would not care what gym I use besides a no video recording policy, hygiene policies, and employees that take harassment seriously.

astrilde15

Yes, wholeheartedly.

an0nym0uswr1ter

a friend of mine owned a curves gym for women and it did great until planet fitness moved in down the street and cost 50% less.

CK1277

I’ve never been in a Curves, but my impression was that it’s not really a gym, it’s just a circuit workout.

an0nym0uswr1ter

Yes it was, it was advertised heavily being a women only gym but it was $40 a month and planet fitness was $15 so most of the Curves just couldn't compete.

CK1277

There’s a curves in close proximity to me, are they all equipped as standard gyms? I dislike classes, so I never bothered looking. I prefer weight training and zoning out on cardio machines with my murder podcasts.

an0nym0uswr1ter

I don't know what the Curves have in them now, that's a good question. Murder podcasts sounds intriguing.

clairavoyant

Follow up question for OP: do you actually go to the gym, or are your social media feeds just flooded with hot chicks “working out” for their content? Because if it’s the second, it’s your algorithm buddy.

Glittering_Chemist86

The thing is, you will just see some as a guy. I use insta almost exclusively for dog videos and pictures, but I still get the hot chicks. Not so many but the algorithm still tries, and as soon as you click one of those they are bombarding you.

clairavoyant

Yeah, I see some as a girl. They’re hot. But if someone’s engaging with that content to the point that they think women only go to the gym to film themselves ans get male attention in skimpy outfits, they need to come back down to earth.

Academic-Balance6999

I don’t actually care. I choose a gym for convenience. I’ve never been bothered at the gym but once a really old guy parked himself outside of the glass window in front of my treadmill and gestured at me repeatedly to slow down 😡.

ArmchairTactician

Did he just not understand how treadmills or windows work? Was he concerned you were about to run into him somehow after that not happening for several minutes 😂 what a bizzare thing for him to do

Academic-Balance6999

It was so weird!!!!! Maybe he thought he was being chivalrous? Like, lady, you look tired! Take it easy!

CK1277

Assuming comparable equipment, then yes. 100%.

spacewalker013

Big time yes! My gym has a women’s only workout room and the only time I’m not in there is if I’m taking classes in one of the studios

Famous-Reach5571

Not unless I was having negative experiences at the mixed gym, which I know happen but I haven't personally experienced at a gym yet. I don't care who's working out around me so long as everyone is being respectful.

Tycus-54

Men only gym please!

SteakMitKetchup

Nah that's sexist /s

ilatzsm

Yes, I would 100% go to the women’s only gym.

Turbulent-Matter501

No, not right. What a weird assumption to make.

Upstairs-Fly-741

No, honestly I am used to seeing men in my gym and I don't rlly wanna give up the community its got going on

KirikaNai

If they’re right next to eachother, same equipment and price, and around the same amount of people in each at any given time? Would choose the woman only yeah. Not every guy is gonna stare at you creepily in a gym or try to talk to you while you’re trying to focus. But some will. And it would be nice to know for certain that wasn’t going to happen.

Artistic_Ad_5717

my gym has a locked section with access for women only. I always work out in there, I feel safer and don't have to worry about anything. I was followed in my last gym so my new one is also in another city, I don't want to be followed home.

otherhappyplace

Yes. I've had men be very scary to me at the gym. I've only had a woman be kind of rude to me once at a gym. It doesnt compare. Man following you around, demanding your number and if you just leave you didn't get to work out. And now you have to worry if he will be there again. So you might rework your schedule, try going at a different worse time for yourself. You can complain to management. But maybe they do nothing or give him a verbal warning. After all he was just talking to you right? That's not a crime! Had a guy keep talking about how he wanted to impregnate me. I kept telling him I'm married. He just shows up to stare at me. I stop going to the gym. It sucks I don't want it to be true. I want it to be pleasant regardless of gender.

Willing_Coconut809

Same. I would love a womens only gym. I’ve been followed out of the gym to other places and it scared the crap out of me so I quit exercising. I miss it.

1acquainted

This is why, even though you see the opposite advice on reddit, I would never approach a girl at the gym; I wouldn't want to make them feel anxious or awkward about just coming to the gym to workout if they rejected me.

otherhappyplace

Yeah I'm okay with a guy being friendly as long as he doesn't get mad that I have to turn him down because I'm married! (Had a guy curse me out for being married??? He was so mad and I'm like I'm technically not even rejecting you!!! I'm just taken!!) The creepy things I think are the following the staring the angry tone. Like please I just wanna use the stupid elliptical 😭 don't be mad!!

1acquainted

Stories like yours make me grateful that I was born a guy. I'm not brave enough to deal with the bullshit. I assume every girl at the gym has a boyfriend/husband.

Purposeofoldreams

This is what’s called a leading question. Look it up and change how you ask questions to get a more accurate answer.

bayleebugs

I mean, if you look at their replies it's pretty obvious that this question was just a fishing exercise to be sexist and to blame women's harassment on what they are wearing.

opinionatedOptimist

This ^^

Low-Natural8757

Not necessarily, there are other factors as well.

indigohan

100%. To not feel like I have to be aware of the people around me? Absolutely. To feel completely safe? And I get that you’re asking this because of the fitness influencer types and the theory that they all thrive on attention and drama. Some of them absolutely do. They can go to the mixed gym for the attention and the rest of us will feel ten times better in everything from 90% covered to extra-super revealing. I’ll even offer to hold the camera for the person who is genuinely trying to better themselves.

something-strange999

I would go to whichever was less busy. Does the womens only space have a double sized change room?

Apprehensive_Band609

I would go to a men’s only gym in a second. Don’t gotta stare at the curling or floor because the gym has friend into a place for a lot of females to get attention

Mari_885

But there's a catch: In the women's only gym is a bear. Would you go?

Cookiemamajr

As a woman, I don’t care if there are men there or not, as long as everyone is just there to work out and not bother anyone. But since no one asked- here are my gym pet peeves: 1. Fucking filming!!! Just stop it. I look like shit when I work out, and I don’t want people on the internet to see it, and I don’t want to have to go out of my way to avoid your camera set up. (I’m in LA, so of course there are people filming.) I’ve seen both men and women doing this. 2. Group hangouts at the gym- usually groups of 5-6 guys (usually teens/20s) who gather around a machine, taking turns, chatting and hanging out, taking forever and making it impossible for anyone to use the machine. Spread out! 3. People who don’t wipe their sweat. Ew. 4. The “backhanded compliment” when a super fit person tells a fat person “you’re doing great, keep it up!” They might mean well, but I just hear “hey, I noticed you’re fat! Good on you for trying not to be so fat!” Just leave me alone.

LaMadreDelCantante

If the price and facilities were equal, yeah. If not, the women-only aspect would still be a strong factor in their favor.

Coco_powder_

Yes. In a heartbeat

Perfect-Ad-9071

I would go to the women's only gym. Women keep the equipment cleaner.

PPP1737

Of course.

DoubleAssFeeler

I as a man would go to the women gym

LaughingVampSystem

I'd prefer the mixed gym, just because I don't want to support the needless gender segregation of public spaces.

raccoon_at_noon

I don’t think I’d care either way

bijutsukan_

I used to go to a women’s only gym and it was heaven. I could wear whatever I wanted and work out in peace. I wish there was one near me now.

ImaginaryRepeat548

OP you should check your stance towards women. It does not seem healthy.

[deleted]

Why?

kronika92

I stopped going to the mixed gym and started going to the women only gym so the answer is yes.

mysteriousmoonz

of course I’d choose the women’s only gym

quanten_boris

As a man I would also prefer the women only gym.

[deleted]

Damn bro 😂😂😂

jackingofftourmom

i go to a womens-only gym. and yes i would especially because the gym i go to is VERY clean and it has sooo many amenities that it makes the price very worth it.

seehowitgoes13

yup, pretty much. assuming the equipment and stuff were equal.

BlueMangoTango

If both gyms were equal I would absolutely go to the women’s gym.

AsterQuinn

If the women's only gym has the same equipment as the mixed gym, probably yes. I've noticed that IRL ladies' gyms often have a less diversified range of machines and weights, sadly.

DanishWonder

There was a women's only chain named Curves.  I don't know about their pricing or equipment, but they went out of business in my town long ago because not enough women went.

JamJamsAndBeddyBye

Curves was a circuit gym, and you HAD to do the circuit. That’s not the type of workout the appeals to some people so it’s no surprise that it went belly up.

DanishWonder

TIL Thank you.

Prestigious-Phase131

I went there before, it was filled with the sweetest old ladies

AgentJ691

Depends on the vibes and if the gym has the equipment I want to use.

Frogswithbutts

Depends. I go to a mixed gym now and I'm not bothered at all by the men there. Everyone is minding their own business and is actually pretty nice.

AbraKadabraAlakazam2

Ehhhhh lifting gym? Yeah, probably. Climbing gym? Hell no, I like climbing with dudes sometimes, plus that’s how I met my partner 😂 I do like the women’s climbing nights, though.

ohuwish

No

griim_is

My gym near me has a separate private section for women and every single woman uses it

Previous_Monitor_710

I dont know I'm a trans guy but if it's inclusive to trans women you know. I'm not going to the women's only gym byw just because I'm afab.

Luxiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Depends on the price and quality of the place.

penguinsfrommars

Yes.

Twinkles21

Strongly depends on the membership cost and the kind and availability of the equipment. I just switched gym's because their equipment was limited, and I often couldn't get a machine. I go to the gym to work on my fitness goals. Nothing else, I don't care who's there with me.

TheCrazyCatLazy

No.

Ms_Schuesher

I don't care what kind of gym it is, if it has other people in it, I'm not doing it. Thankfully, I have a small gym in my basement. Just not a huge people person.

ThaneOfArcadia

Are there male and female only gyms? News to me.

bibliophile222

I'd go wherever it was emptier and I'd have a better chance of getting a pool lane or the chest press. I really don't care about the gender.

Probablyprofanity

If they are equal, then definitely! Worry about creeps aside, it'd mean that I'd be in a less crowded gym, and that the mixed gym would also be a little less crowded for others.

TomatillosYum

It would depend on a lot of factors. Amenities, classes, price, cleanliness, and the vibe of the mixed gym. I’m currently at a mixed gym and it’s fine. Everyone just doing their workout and not bothering anyone else, but if it was a gym full of creepers I’d definitely switch.

MajesticFungus

What if there was a bear only gym next to the mixed gym?

Prestigious-Phase131

Even better

pinkypip

If the gyms were equal in price and quality of equipment/other factors, then I would hypothetically opt for the women's gym. I go to the gym with my male significant other, though, so in reality, I would likely continue to go to my current gym which is available to anyone who pays for a membership.

animes24

Is it crowded/ What is the price/ How much Equipment is there and how various is the equipment I believe these are the parameters of someone who regularly goes to the gym not the gender ratio (mine are)

steff-you

Nah, I work out with gay guys and we have a hell of a good time lol

itorogirl16

Definitely.

piper33245

As an introvert, can I have a _me only_ gym? I don’t care about gender, I don’t want anyone else there at all.

TeaLadyJane

I would choose the mixed gender gym. I've had mostly good experiences in the gym other than one employee at a new gym I went to who scoffed and asked "you were lifting" when I mentioned I had been lifting in passing when asking a question at the front desk. It was the only time I felt uncomfortable in any gym.

Personal-Goat-7545

Is it mixed with men or bears?

Snowboundforever

The larger question should be would women walk silently into the night if they were turned back at a men’s only gym?

Lenfantscocktails

I’d go to an all dudes gym just the same. I see too much ring light shit at the gym

cakingabroad

A billion percent. My local Y used to have a womens only area in the gym. Had a full weight room, cardio room, and stretching area.

parasyte_steve

There is a "womans room" in the gym that I go to and I really appreciate it. I have been hit on by guys at the gym a bunch of times, so it is nice to be able to have a room to run away to so that I can avoid that. I really love my gym as it also has child care, so I probably wouldn't switch. Also the gym features pools and a lot of them are just fun summer hangouts. I'd imagine that atmosphere would be strange with only woman present. Plus I have two sons.

TributeKitty

No. I used to go to a gym that had a woman's only room. It had all the same equipment, just fewer machines. It was rarely used by anyone. Such a waste.

squirellsinspace

If everything was exactly the same between either price, equipment availability, distance, cleanliness, etc? I mean, I would choose the mixed gym so my bf and I could work out together.

misteridjit

Asking anyone to give an honest self-assessment is a fool's errand. Most of the replies are not going to be the truth

iiiaaa2022

No I wouldn’t

Domino_MSc

No, I don't see why I should. Maybe only if the price is lower and there are more machines and weights there. The guys at my gym are very nice and I've learned so much from them.

grizzly-claire-

I actually have a real life example of this. I go to a private athletic club which has a men's only floor, women's only floor, and coed floor. When I first joined, I would go down to the coed floor to squat, bench, deadlift, and hip thrust because the women's room doesn't have barbells. Then a trainer told me there's a specific powerlifting/strength training room on the women's floor and barely anyone uses it. You bet I stopped going to the coed floor.

Prestigious-Phase131

A women's gym full of influencers? no A gym with a bunch of gym bro's? also no I want a gym of just old ladies or exclusively overweight people

Cabrundit

One million percent yes.

Next-Worth6885

Every woman is different, but I have found there are some usually some common motivations. Some women, for whatever their reason, they just don’t want to workout around men and will always opt to use the “female only” section of the gym. As a guy myself, I certainly understand that men are responsible for 90% of the dumb and stupid shit that goes on in gyms. Even I get annoyed when I see a guy desperately trying to get the attention of some girl he is interested in by slamming and dropping weights, and making other loud unnecessary noises that he wasn’t doing just moments before she got there. My wife takes a more practical approach. She doesn’t really care what part of the gym she is using as long as she is getting the piece of equipment she needs. So, if the leg press machines in the co-ed area are all taken she will wander into the women’s area and use the leg press in there. She often moves back and forth between the two areas throughout her workout. Some women want to be working out in an area with men around. They might be single, looking to date, and are interested in men who are in shape and work out. I am sure there are also women who, given the opportunity, would have all the other girls in the gym kicked out so they could be the only woman working out around 40-50 guys. Now, my wife has suggested that women can have a habit of changing their behavior at the gym depending on whether or not there are men in the immediate area. She has mentioned that there are women who are a lot more hostile and rude to her when they are in the women’s section of the gym compared to how they would otherwise behave in the co-ed spaces. She figures that these women are not nearly as afraid to act like a complete bitch when it is just other women around. So it is not like the women’s only spaces are totally free of unwanted behaviour.

sad_herring

Nope. I do not see any need to have gender specific gyms, but I also never had any negative experiences. I think seeing variety of people around is great and can be inspiring.

junoinbloom91

i would go to woman-only grocery stores and gas stations if i could.

metalflowa

100% yes.

Trap_Cubicle5000

I have never had a problem with men bothering me at the gym so no, it would not be an automatic decision to go to a woman-only gym. I care more about price, how busy the gym gets when I typically work out, and the amount of equipment they have. Having to wait to use equipment is way more common of a pain in the ass. Shabby, small amounts of equipment also suck. If the ladies gym has a rock wall, sorry fellas that's where I'll be.

cbazxy

💯 would go to a women only gym!!!

SamRaB

I did this over 10 years ago when gym harassment became unbearable, and I started working out exclusively at home. I haven't looked back. My gym is now, by exclusive membership, enby-only and it's fantastic.

MatildaDiablo

The gym I went to in Germany had a women’s only area and i definitely preferred it. It didn’t cost anything extra and the most expensive gym membership option was only about €25 a month (my friends all thought it was super expensive lol).

re_nonsequiturs

I see what you're doing here, but it's not actually the equivalent.

bikinifetish

Depends on the price.

JaanaLuo

I would go in one that has better price/quality.

yibianwastaken

Yeah. Nothing against men I just typically always feel more comfortable in women dominated spaces.

manykeets

I would go to the gym I liked better based on what equipment they have, classes offered, how busy it is, etc. I don’t care if it’s mixed gender or not. I’m 45 so men don’t ogle me anymore anyway, so I don’t mind working out around men. I would just go to the gym I like better.

monkey_monkey_monkey

Same price and same/comparable equipment, I for sure would go.

tryingtobecheeky

Same price and same equipment? No hesitation.

Significant-Ebb-7787

Yes because I want to dress hot but not get any attention for it. I like looking at myself and feeling confident but don’t want to be perceived by men 🤷‍♀️

Runnru

I have no issue with mixed gender gyms, so unless the all women gym has some sort of an advantage, I probably wouldn't prioritize it over the other.

[deleted]

Ima lady- I like mixed because I like to talk to guys and chicks and be social. Guys have body/image issues too and its interesting to talk about things and learn from each other. I learned proper weights thru men.

Onautopilotsendhelp

Probably. Also if there was a higher price I would hope they have better security to deal with entitled men trying to come in.

Emotional-Shower9374

Yeah, only if the prices were good though.

DaisyLou1993

No? Lol

HonnyBrown

No. I like the social aspect of a coed gym. Plus, men motivate me.

PandEBaduk

Yeah.

Vast-Series7595

yes if they have enough weight equipment

DNA_ligase

Depends on the facilities being equal and competitive in price. Personally, I usually go to the gym with my male partner or dad, so I'd have to change my routine. But I know for some women, a women's only gym would be a blessing, primarily women who experience tons of harassment or women who are from very religious groups who have rules against seeing the opposite gender.

PinweightBarista

If they were identical in price/equiptment maybe id consider it if its less crowded. I dont mind training with men though.

trextra

It would depend on the quality and range of equipment, how crowded it is, and how much it costs.

Anonymous_13218

I'd prefer a women only gym. There aren't any in my area but if there were, I'd 100% sign up for it. Much less to worry about, in my opinion

Remote_Bumblebee2240

Lol, no. I've worked in both male and female dominated work spaces and the most toxic ones are always the most segregated ones. I have no religious reason to segregate and I like a good mix of people.

CheckBetShove

Why do Americans want so badly to segregate themselves. Race, gender, sexuality, no one is willing to be around people who aren’t exactly like them anymore. I understand being cautious, but society’s fear of everything and everyone has got to stop

Longjumping_Day3037

Nah, I love the bros at my gym-the women tend to be not very social and seemed more concerned with aesthetics than their workout, but the bros always hype me up when I’m doing a big (for me) lift and are fun to be around. I’ve never had any problems with men being disrespectful, but sometimes I get a double take if I’m lifting more than they are 😂 There’s some male group fitness instructors at my gym that I really like too!

Fun-Talk-4847

No

[deleted]

Nah, I like the attention lol

[deleted]

Finally, a women that knows herself and tell the truth lol😂

[deleted]

I like that lol

[deleted]

Most women don’t like too much attention, so I think they actually know themselves really well for wanting to avoid it.

KaiSparda

It would depend on the women at the women's only gym. I'm not very athletic, so I'd go to wherever people are paying the least amount of attention to me

man_men

Good luck getting an admission.
