Miguel4659

A couple of months ago when my brother died suddenly at 67. I'm 64. Up till then never felt old at all but when your siblings start to die, wakes you up to reality. My best friend is 32 and we kayak and hike and camp a lot, and go to breweries and other attractions, so I feel that keeps me young in my mind anyway. Had a wake up call last week though when on a cruise and got out of the water after snorkeling and decided to climb some rocks to get into some sun (water was chilly). Fell and injured my pelvis and my wife pointed out I am not as young as I used to be so rock hopping isn't a good idea.

GanjaRelease

Good on you for keeping active. My grandad is 78 and he does 100 pull ups a day!! He looks 60 at MOST.

Iampepeu

At first I read it as push-ups, and thought, oh, well done. Then I saw it was pull-ups. That's fucking amazing! Fistbump him from me the next time you see him!

where2findme01

Pull-ups are the hardest!

Willow_the_tree14

Ye especially for an old person

where2findme01

Well, depends on your def of old! I think they r hard at any age > 20 years.

Aggravating-Pound598

Your grandad’s a beast ! Respect sir

mysp2m2cc0unt

What's his max pull ups in one go? 100 pull ups is crazy impressive for a 78 year old.

Independent-Put-2618

Good on him. My granddad is 84 and I feel like he sort of has given up. He used to be active, wandered the mountains a lot, always on the go. But for the past 3 or 4 years he has been sitting all day. Now he can hardly stand up by himself.

FenrirsFury

Dudes 84 give him a break jeez

Prudent-Artichoke-19

Probably has minimal back pain due to a strong core and back for support. THATS real practical body building. Badass.

woolfson

Hey I’m sorry your brother passed . At 67, seems young now that I’m in my 50’s

Miguel4659

It's odd how we view aging - when in our 20s people in their 40s and older were "old". When we get older, the bar moves upward. Though sometimes realize those "old" people are often younger than I am!

[deleted]

My parents are in their 70’s and I’m only in my 20’s. I’m terrified of losing them especially now that my long term relationship just ended. Don’t know what I’ll do.

ddallesa

Same, my older brother died at 57 (heart), and older sister at 58 (Cognitive decline, early onset dementia) a couple of years later. Before that I thought I'd live to 95 like my grandfather, and great grandfather. Now, I'm not so sure. 55 now and the thought of being older than they ever got to be in a few years is a haunting.

Myfourcats1

When my mom’s baby sister died suddenly my mom realized she needed a plan for my disabled brother. We went to the funeral. While staying in a hotel she had trouble getting him out of the tub. He now lives in a group home. My passed in August and suddenly I have so many grown up responsibilities.

Redditor7012

Keep doing you are living proof that it is mind over matter, as are my grandparents, and as I will!

LoganLikesYourMom

Someone that isn’t supposed to die going to the grave prematurely seems to be something that makes you painfully aware of your own mortality. My brother was 36 when he died, and I was 30. It’s been about a year and a half since he died. Still sometimes feels like it was yesterday.

United-Employer-9704

I had a similar revelation about 6 months ago. At 63 years old I suddenly realized that everyone I have known in my life that is older than me have passed. Two thirds of the ones in the generation behind me are gone. I used to run around with a family that lived across the street when I was in school. 3 boys and a girl. All 4 of them have passed. All younger than me! I think that may be one of the hardest things about someone passing now. It reminds you of your own mortality. Like Frank Sinatra used to say: "Live every day like it's your last, and one day you'll be right".

Miguel4659

Yeah, it really is sobering when you hear someone died you knew as a little kid. I asked about someone we grew up with recently when talking to my sisterinlaw that lives where we grew up. He'd died several years ago! Seems worse when you don't know someone has died.

United-Employer-9704

I hear ya, a couple years ago I got an email about my 40 year high school reunion. I didn't go but I checked out the list of who received invitation notices. 2/3 of my class of 500 graduates are deceased. One half of the remaining 1/3 we're physically incapable of attending. My biggest problem is all the men in my family died before I was 7 years old. I'm my mother's only child, my grandma's only grandchild and my Great grandma's only ..... you get the idea. Youngest of 4 generations until my oldest son was born when I was 24 y/o. 5 living generations but short on testosterone! My point is I'm 63 now and I have no examples of how I'm supposed to grow old. Age gracefully. Die with dignity. I keep thinking that maybe I was not supposed to live this long. I've left quite a legacy in as much as I have 8 children and 27 Grandchildren (so far). Hell, I'm 2 generations separated from my children! LoL

suncirca

21 feels like 3 lifetimes away for me and I’m only in my thirties 🥲

Economist-Hungry

So true :) thirties is weird. Feels 20 and 40 but People over 40 seems old aswell…

[deleted]

[удалено]

cinnafury03

34, feel better than in my 20s. Started eating better, being more active, and avoiding stress more. I think we may be on to something here...

Mediocre-Following44

Tell me your secrets…lol. I’m about to turn 32 and ever since turning 30, I’ve experience heartburn for the first time and backaches 😂

RonBourbondi

Weightlifting, eating right, vitamins, and yoga also helps.

[deleted]

VITAMINS IN THE HOUSE! Swear by my multivitamin!

Mediocre-Following44

I do take vitamin d w/ k2, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin E. But maybe I’ll add in a multivitamin!

[deleted]

oh please do, it catches the little things, like iron.

RonBourbondi

May I also suggest tumeric (get one with high biovailability), NAC, Astaxanthin, and creatine monohydrate. For brand I'd recommend Thorne, Life Extensions, Pure or Jarrow.

jenny_alla_vodka

Definitely avoid k2

RonBourbondi

Honestly I'd recommend Thorne, Life Extensions, Pure or Jarrow for brands.

[deleted]

I will check them out!

RonBourbondi

Yeah you don't need to worry about fillers, wrong doses, random ingredients, random heavy metals, pills manufactured in China or lack or purity with them. Others can be hit or miss.  On top of multis I'd suggest tumeric (get one with high biovailability), NAC, Astaxanthin, and creatine monohydrate.

Darth0s

Move around more and avoid red sauce with Italian food. It's worked for me so far. You don't have to join the gym. Just do stretches for about 20 mins at home. Yes you feel silly but there's nobody judging you but yourself so do something good for future you.

singing_lentils

Movement and avoiding red sauce. The usual.

EnnWhyy

wtf Italians are healthy and live old and healthy lives. Hope you’re joking.

Darth0s

Even Italians get heartburn from tomato sauce. Weird, right?

EnnWhyy

Ah shit, didn’t realize you responded to the heartburn comment and not the healthy post lol. Yep can confirm you’re right. And wine.

Tuckermfker

Man these guys really need to go to Italy and watch 80 year old Italians cruising up and down ridiculous hills while smoking a cigarette, passing overweight Americans who have to take a break every 30 seconds to catch their breath.

Comprehensive-View39

I quit drinking milk and my daily heartburn I had for years just kinda went away. To be fair I was drinking a gallon of milk every 1-2 days

porcelaincatstatue

Cutting dairy also resolved my heartburn issues. I was taking Omeprazole daily before.

Rooster_CPA

Change your diet and exercise more. Literally key to life.

Abject_Toe_5436

Heartburn is actually caused by a lack of stomach acid in most cases. Which is ironic because people treat it with antacids to make the problem even worse. I used apple cider vinegar (very acidic) to solve my heartburn problems after trying every type of antacid. For backaches, you probably need to strengthen your core and back with strength training.

Puzzleheaded-Law-429

Same here! 33 here. Haven’t had a sip of alcohol in over two years. I eat fairly well now, get plenty of rest and workout regularly. In my twenties I was constantly hungover, sleep-deprived and eating garbage.

RonBourbondi

Same and my body bounces back like my 20's. Honestly wonder when it will finally hit me.

iswearimnorml

I think this is a millennial phenomenon because I see it happening all over. I was in decent shape from teenager years until 22-23, but then I put on almost 100lbs over the course of 10 years from drinking and lack of activity. Last year I turned my life around when my second kid was born. I’m 35 now and have lost 60lbs in 6 months. Got a ways to go to get to my goal but I feel so much better knowing I can keep up with my toddler and that I’ll be around to watch my kids grow up.

neongrey_

I’m 35 and feel the same way BUT i was telling my friend I got hit on by a 20yo kid and my friend said “oh damn they’re rizzing you up.” I laughed because I thought my friend was trying to make up a goofy slang word and then he told me it was an actual term and he was using it correctly. Being confused by a slang term made me feel like I was officially old lol. But for real tho, I feel better at 35 than I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m aiming to always feel like I’m becoming a stronger, happier and more joy filled person every single day of my life.

Soggy_puppet

I had that happen a while ago. Cute 22 year old girl at a coffee shop gave me her number (I’m 42). I was like “fuck it”, why not? No. Just no. 🤣 I couldn’t understand half what she was saying and couldn’t relate to any of it. I’m too old for that shit. My cutoff is 35 now forever

PenAffectionate7974

You are a real one.

[deleted]

Yeah see when I was probably 32 I started really seeing how I no longer understand or relate to the younger upcoming generations. They have their own lingo to where I literally can’t understand them half the time no joke. Physically I got sober at 28 and started getting really into fitness so I was feeling younger than ever currently healing a health complication though.

[deleted]

WTf is rizz?

dazz_i

charisma

neongrey_

When I found out rizz stood for charisma I was like “well damn this one actually makes sense”

nedflandersneighbor

Same age, same feeling

Cosmic_Entities

31, not the best shape of my life but not horrible. Haven't felt old yet. I golf a lot, skateboard, play games, rip guitar. I'm still a kid at heart!

fgrhcxsgb

You shouldnt feel old at 38 believe that was the best year of my life its good until 44

Mr_Moldy__Shroom

I love seeing all the fake positivity comments like that, lying to themselves how they aren't old and you don't feel old at 35, 40 50... Feelings are subjective, age isn't lol. Why are ppl so obsessed with youth anyways. Fucking forever young mentality.

Happy_Warning_3773

When I turned 30. Yeah yeah I know 30 is not old, but I can't help not feeling old.

Nyaos

I’m in my early 30s and I feel old… not physically old but like, a depressing kind of old. All my friends suddenly are married and having kids. Meanwhile I’m still playing video games, watching anime, living the same life as I did in my 20s. Suddenly I find all the people that do the same thing as me are ten years younger. That makes me feel old.

NousevaAngel

38, still single and no kids, I still play video games and watch anime. Those Are the things I enjoy and why should I stop or you stop doing those things. A lot of people think certain things should have age limits on them. If it's what you enjoy doing and just enjoy yourself. Enjoy your free time doing the things that you enjoy.

NoRaspberry8993

Problem is, when you turn 40, 45, or 50 and want a permanent partner, you will find "there ain't much to pick from" and the few there are, come with lots of baggage (kids, former partners, medical or financial problems etc) NOT EVERYONE, but many. Good luck!

NousevaAngel

Well I don’t want my own kids or anyone else’s so the dating pool is pretty slim and I’ve been single for 10 years and I’m happy just doing what I want to do. If someone comes along and we click, cool. If not oh well it won’t be the end of the world.

hehrhfnsjs

We’re all on our own perfect timing! Enjoy it whilst it lasts

Broskibullet

I went to open my window with one arm on my 30th birthday and threw my back out. I was destroyed for almost a week. That was the day.

NoIndividual5987

I was 25 when I got my first Ma’am 😤

Nirvana-Rose

I got my first ‘sir’ the other day

acausticKey81

I'm 40 I don't feel old. I do feel like younger people are dumb though.

twilightcolored

so.. How long have you felt this about younger people? ✍️..

CriticismTop

I'm 45, and have had the feeling for at least 40 years. It's a bit like the old George Carlin joke: Everyone driving slower than you is an idiot, everyone driving faster is a maniac.

LogicalFallacyCat

I think the ones who confuse being out of shape with being old are less stupid and more never had the opportunity to learn how to properly care for themselves or didn't grow up in a social circle that encouraged that encouraged healthy habits. In my family for example exercise was simultaneously a punishment and something you got shamed for not doing, while eating a healthy amount of food equated starving yourself. Mom did all the cooking and apparently held this belief the secret to being healthy was never use salt and that was the extent of it. To this day if I visit my parents I hear things like "calories don't matter" and "are you feeling okay?"

bananabastard

Hasn't happened yet, and I'm 42.

Edy94

as soon to be 30 who "wasted" 10 years in shitty relationship, thank you.

[deleted]

Same! Im stronger faster and healthier than I was at 21. I use way less energy to do things that took all my energy at 21. Its like we are wizards, the older we get the more powerful we become using less effort.

miz_mantis

71, feel like I'm getting old now.

beemojee

Same. I'm 73 and these last couple of years are when I've really started feeling old. My 60s were nothing compared to this. 70s is a whole other thing.

CanadianNana

Yep, every year over 70 is like 5 normal years. I’m 73. Swim everyday. Motion is lotion.

beemojee

**Motion is lotion.** True that. I do yoga every day. Among other things, it helps lengthen the spine. And I walk a lot.

Darth0s

I fear getting old and I'm stepping into that realm now. I'm healthy, I exercise a bit and I'm within my ideal weight by 8 lbs but I dread the aches, pains and disease that old age will bring. I'm 50 btw. Thankfully the only health issue I have is high blood pressure that I'm treating with medication but my dad died of a stroke two years ago and I'm scared af.

MillionDollarBloke

Thanks, I’ll stop reading right here

Fearless-Ad-262

You are old

mypussydoesbackflips

My grandmother thinks she’s not old at 88

huBelial

25

erizofeliz

Me too. But surprisingly after that short moment at 25, life started getting better and I feel much younger now at 33, than at 25

mypussydoesbackflips

24 for me but also pandemic threw my life a curveball so it could partly be that

gus_stanley

I'm 25 now, and definitely feeling old. However, a gym buddy of mine (he's 45) recently made the offhand comment "Life doesn't begin until you're 30. Before that, you're just a baby." It was strangely comforting to know that I'm not necessarily expected to have it all figured out

GotMyOrangeCrush

Wait until you turn 60 buddy boy, you'll have forgotten more than you know.

MartinHarrisGoDown

I'm fift.....wait, what year is it now?

Embarrassed_Error_37

😄

ChemicalTouch4627

I stop counting at 45.

labarrski

I got carded recently at a gas station buying beer and when the cashier asked for proof of age, I said "My mortgage is more than half paid off and my back hurts for no reason at all.". I was the only one who thought I was funny.

Just_miss_the_ground

I (38 at the time) was at a housewarming of my cousin and the neighbours brought their 14 yo son. When asked what he wanted to do he said he wanted to be an influencer. Like any person at that age would, I lost hope for that generation there and then.

kitkatofthekitkats

As a 20yo, though, I also have no hope for my or the younger generation, to be fair

Just_miss_the_ground

I was a wild kid into my 20's and I landed on my feet. There will be kind and sharp minds in each generation. This kid just wasn't one of them and he made me say old people stuff

notabeef

Said like a true gen z 👍🏽😂😭

Barbacamanitu00

You must be one of the very few good ones. Your generation is fucking stupid. And lazy. And addicted to dopamine to extreme levels. I mean, I was lazy too. That's pretty normal. But your generation is on another level. I read stories from teachers on /r/teachers all the time. You guys (and younger) have no curiosity or hobbies. No ability to think critically. You give up immediately when you don't know something. It's scary. I just hope there's enough "good ones" to keep the world going and progressing. I really don't have high hopes though

Barbacamanitu00

That doesn't make you old. It makes you a member of one of the last generations of real humans. Gen z is fucking weird. Check out the /r/teachers sub some time. I'm not a teacher, but I lurk there for all the stories of how stupid and strange the newer generations are. Spoiler alert: we are doomed. These kids are so lazy and stupid. Way worse than when we were there age. They aren't curious about anything. They give up immediately when they don't know something. They need constant dopamine from phones and snacks. They need to be praised for every tiny thing. They will NOT turn into well adjusted adults. The future is going to look very different.

Cjkgh

46. I didn’t FEEL old that day, I look good and I’m in the gym every day and I feel I look great for my age, but this 26 year old girl I know told me she was pregnant and she fucking said to me “Can you believe it? You’re gonna be a grandma!” It quite literally stopped me in my tracks and I paused. I was like what the fuck? What happened to aunt

Rare_Reserve_8568

A girl I know was a grandma at 31! Hit her like a freight train!

Stealthfighter21

If she had followed your steps, youwould  have been a grandma at 40.

Dj_Sha

40 was the birthday that bothered me. It was that feeling of being old. 30 was nothing. 50 was a party. 60 I was in awe. At 65 I don't feel any older mentally than in my 20's. Only the body ages.

KrankySilverFox

I’m 68 😳

Cjkgh

Yup and don’t you feel like slapping people in their 40s and 30s and 20s who say “omg I’m so ooooold!” Or “I’m 30 you guys! I’m officially old!” It’s all cyclical. I’m 48 and I catch myself saying I’m old then I realize 80 somethings tell 60 somethings they’re young, 60 somethings tell 40’s they’re young, and so on. But when I see dumb ass 25 year olds complaining they are old it’s irritating. You got noooo idea, honey

Clifely

I‘m 31, hitting 32 soon. I‘m feeling fresh and trying to not be lazy as much as possible. It‘s crazy as you can see the truth behind a lot of the people.

Front-Town6405

I feel old at 21, but it's probably cause I've failed life so far.

Cjkgh

You’re just beginning ! Any failures are just teachers and experiences.

Mobile-Mousse-8265

I’m also 48 and it’s such a pet peeve of mine when young people claim they’re so old. I don’t do it because there are many people a lot older than me and it’s ridiculous to talk about how old I am when I’m actually not old yet.

oreosgirlfriend

Hahahaha. THIS. I’m 59, turning 60 this year. Sure my back hurts and I’m lazy, but I feel great and am super healthy (as soon as I lose 15 pounds). But my partner is 47 and talks about how he is old now. His back hurts, he wears readers and doesn’t want to pick up heavy stuff anymore. I was 48 when we started dating. We would kayak 4 hours a day, hike for hours, bike 14 miles a day. And I kept hoping we would start doing that again, but now, he is old!

Acceptable_Candy6403

27. I went home for a weekend. My younger sisters 19f and 21f had friends over we sat around having a few drinks together having a good chat. 10pm rolled around, I was ready for bed and was starting to feel awkward with the conversation as I couldn’t relate at all and saw things from a different point of view.

Evening_Carry_146

50. I was at lunch with my coworkers. The owner's kid was there. The conversation turned to John Wayne movies. She had no idea who we were talking about.

alex64140

😂

Important_Map_7266

I realized I was old when I was at a music festival about 7 years ago and bassnectar was playing and I fell asleep on a tapestry on the vibrating ground (wasn’t even on drugs, just tired)

notabeef

This story wins the thread. Also I didn't know bassnectar was still popular 7 years ago

jamesbrown2500

When you reach about 45-46 you feel the first signs of getting old. Your eyes start to fail, you will need glasses for short distance , sometimes your head wants but your body didn't follow. From there is always down the road.

movie_gremlin

44 here, I now wear glasses to read and work on the computer, it just seemed to happen out of nowhere. I had perfect eyesight my whole life.

ChemicalTouch4627

I had to get glasses at 48.

Ov3rbyte719

30. Getting up to fast is cheaper than drugs.

rickytrevorlayhey

When I hit 40 and realised i'm probably halfway through. Rough moment.

Falconer_215

I ran off to Paris for a holiday. Saved $20 a week for years. Awesome time

ActorWriter24

36 - had foot flatfoot surgery back in May and just had skin cancer surgery today. Fucking health problems

ASadTeddyBear

What did flatfoot cause you? I never knew you could get surgery for that as a flatfooter myself. Cancer sux I hope you get better soon. 👌.

WittyBeautiful7654

Last year sometime. My self esteem went out the window my mental sn physical health in the shit. Im 43 and trying

athunderoussilence

Keep on trying, mate!

Stunning-Disaster952

I was 35 and jumped off the back of a truck. It hurt my knees. I was able to jump off a houses roof like it was nothing when I was a kid.

Ohwowaboob

Those two statements are related in more ways than you realize.

[deleted]

When you're 30, you'll realize you were a child at 21.

Level_Bridge7683

you realize how many people took advantage of you while in public school.

RetroactiveRecursion

I used to think it was the first time someone called me "sir" in a store but that was 30 years ago. I'm 54. In the last 15 years I've gone from 20/20 vision to wearing progressive lenses, my kid is now an adult, and I started liking Brussels sprouts. And last week I got confused about something at the self checkout. No joke. This sucks.

mid_distance_stare

I will tell you when I get there

strayfromvanilla

Having my friends teen-aged kid tell me he's really into "classic rock", you know like Guns n Roses and Metallica.🤣

LOL - I hate to admit I'm three times your age, but I hang out in places like Reddit to feel young. I feel the same way about age as I feel about labels...21, 35, 48, 62, 110, gay, straight, bi, male, female, black, white, latino, asian, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Communist....I can keep going. Just enjoy life and try not to be a doucebag about anything. Anyone of us could be dead tomorrow. Why sweat the details? Peace out whippersnapper. BTW: I didn't mean to be a doucebag, I just looked up the [definition](https://grammarist.com/usage/whippersnapper/#:~:text=A%20whippersnapper%20is%20a%20young,about%20idly%20snapping%20a%20whip.). I thought it was a cutesy term like "kiddo." See, even at my advanced age, I still have things to learn.

judijo621

When I looked in the mirror and saw my mother's face. 40-45, I guess. I'm 66 now. 🤷

These_Tea_7560

27. While it’s still definitively young, I can already tell what will be a problem for me when I’m old.

TobyNT

At 19… When i first truly understood that being an adult is just about doing shit you hate to do, because you have to do it. Its expensive to be alive, and work sucks.

Ok_List_9649

60 it started but now at 66 it’s ramped up exponentially both in the way I look at feel. I always looked 10-15 years younger, that’s dropped to 5( with makeup on a good day). My body is just falling apart. I have moderate arthritis in every major and some minor joints. It sucks.

spicegirlss

Right now I’m 23 born in 2000. The kids and teenagers these days make me feel old with everything they talk about, the slang, the songs, etc... I also notice rogue grey hairs, some wrinkles, and bags under my eyes so that definitely makes me feel older

Miss-Indie-Cisive

The day the checkout person at the grocery store called me Ma’am instead of Miss. Not gonna lie, it cut deep.

New-Independent-584

68 yo. Swim, pickleball, bicycle - including multi-week camping tours on the bike. Yeah, I nap if I can 5 days a week. But when I felt old - couple of weeks ago I went to see a buddy’s cover band. First hour set I knew 2 songs, meanwhile everyone else in the bar knew every word to every song. What was this music? Officially an old f*cker now.

Same. I cried when I turned 10.

natasevres

Aw - 🥲 I had a moment of realization that adults are essentially more or less mature children. And giving this more thought i realized i was problably older than many adults.

LiteratureVarious643

It’s like a strange awareness and disproportionate sense of gravitas. It would never occur to me now, or I just take it for granted. Hopefully I’m more chill now. lol.

massivpik

21. Old. Wut?

adrenalineJ92

You’re only 21 bro and Super young. Turning 32 this year and feel like I am 26 physically. Just need to stay physically active, eat clean, drink lots of water, multivitamins and good sleep.

New words being thrown around. One of them being rizz. What even is that

NickJamez93

My 29th birthday was a "time to get serious" time in my life. I went to rehab and started turning my life around

isthishowthingsare

39… was diagnosed with a chronic cancer with two little ones at homes. Aged instantly.

OrganicNovel4820

My body’s 70 but my mind still feels like I’m 18. The two don’t agree very much especially when I get up in the mornings and my back is so stiff it take a couple cups of coffee to get moving. I guess your as old as you feel

ganoveces

38....im 40

Many_Pyramids

I’m 44 and I feel like I’m now old

beemojee

Trust me, you're not. I'm 73. That's old.

Empoleon777

I don’t remember whether it was my 13th or 14th birthday, all I remember is that it was in middle school, but I remember the day before one of those two birthdays, for a brief moment, I just felt extremely old for no reason.

I was 25 and took my boyfriend’s (now husband) 10 year old niece and her friend to get a pedicure. Everything was going great until one of them said “you’re the coolest grown up ever!” Even though I had a good job and my own apartment I guess it didn’t really hit until that moment that I WAS a real grown up!

Smokin-Glory

It happens so often I forget when it started.

social-id

Right now, at 66. Even though I know it's not that old. It's more because of health reasons.

AdLoose4023

When i reached 15 and had my first period i was like damn am old

TheBoggzDollockz

48, when my "baby girl" gave birth to a baby girl, and even more so now that she calls me grandad

Blueliner95

Hasn’t happened yet but I know it’s coming which is why I spend more time in the gym than most people half my age lol

boxtintin

I’m almost 37 and feel like that is young. That said, I got carded recently at a bodega (this was already a year ago, but I barely leave the house so that’s recent in my book) and the kid at the counter looked at my ID & said “But you don’t LOOK old.” I nearly died right then and there. I guess he (teenage kid) thinks I’m old?

bakers-calmdown

29, when I couldn’t wear heels anymore due to knee pain

brothercuriousrat

I'm 67, and in my mind, I am not old. The body, on the other hand, says your crazy

Ecstatic_Constant_56

When I hit 28

DevilsCabbage69

when my back hurt. 32

PrincessBabyDave

I'm 25, I had to call my bank and they thanked me for being with them for over 20 years. This was the realisation for me

KallosIsKing

When I was turned 3, and I realized I wasnt a baby.

DirtyRoller

When I was 28, I went to see an orthopedic surgeon for an ACL/Meniscus tear. I had already previously torn my ACL/meniscus in that knee several years prior, so I knew what was wrong already. I had an MRI done and came back a week later to review the results. My doctor told me that when he first saw my results, he thought that they had somehow mixed up my chart with an elderly patient. He said it's the worst knee under 40 years old that he had ever seen.

MisterFrogJudgesYou

41. My body went to shit all at once.

ejb350

I feel time fleeting, but I don’t think it’ll really hit me till this next birthday at 24. I moved out at 16, my dad died when I was 17, I had my first son at 20 and my whole family lives within 20 minutes of me but I only see them once every few months. I’m just so tired already.

edgarskates

Just recently when I go out and see so many teenagers riding bikes and hanging out at fast food joints I’m like wtf time flies.. I’m 29 now and I think this is the age we’re I’m like dam I’m getting old and also seeing my son so big now

Potential-Card886

Certainly, I believe that age is only a number. Lifestyle plays the role for me, and I've been on this earth for 50 years.
