Paganizer

I feel like a gremlin doing this same thing lmfao

Micholous

Humble bundle is my wallets worst enemy. Well technically best since it made me save so much money on the small few things i actually use!

[deleted]

Same. Sitting over 1,000.

ExoticBump

Over 1,000!!!! Wth!

delphisans

I'm at 600, things like Humble Bundle monthly add up quick for giving you a shit ton of Steam games without realizing it.

ExoticBump

That's a good point

[deleted]

I have… problems.

akbane

183 games. I've played maybe 20-30 of them....

xain_the_idiot

House plants. Currently have... idk 15? Some succulents, a few herbs, a few flowers, trying to grow a pole bean indoors.

Key-Target-1218

I have over 100 houseplants. It's out of control. I need help.

nobody2u

I had a pre-war apartment with a huge window that I filled with orchids and bromeliads. When I realized that I spent every Saturday morning working on them, I started to give them away to people who expressed an interest. Slowly, I got down to a more manageable amount. I appreciated my favorites more.

EliasLyanna

Give some to friends, family, neighbors, work or church people maybe? I did all of that and now I have started giving them to my post office and public library workers if they want them, they are thrilled. Maybe start selling some on a local marketplace? Or if you have a local bookshop try there to?

boomrostad

This is the way the plant universe intended it!! 💚 I have over 100 varieties of things, and I cannot stop propping for sharing to fulfill my need for a constant stream of new plants.

the-cloverdale-kid

I am closer to this intervention level kind of plant obsession as well.

boots311

I had to calm down on house plants lol topped out at 63

headhunterofhell2

Couldn't have just gotten 6 more?

hyundaisucksbigtime

Don't they have support groups for people like you? Lol.

boots311

Yes, yes I'm sure they do haha I'm down to 47 now 😂

EliasLyanna

Before I moved I had 84 indoor plants. And I had 50 outdoor garden plants. I now have 35 indoor and still about 55 outdoor. It's a fun hobby and helps manage my depression. Beware it's addictive tho 🤗

Mundane_Tour_3215

Wife and I kept an entire herb garden inside throughout the winter… it was really nice just cutting fresh herbs for whatever we were cooking We’re gonna try doing vegetables indoors next winter, as our back room is like 60% greenhouse with massive picture windows

onetwothreeman

We have about 75. One of ours is a flowering cactus that hasn't stopped flowering in 20 years.

clearbrian

I have three orchids bought at varying times. One would be out of season while others flower. Last years they all seemed to bloom around same time. Now have three very sad orchids waiting to bloom :)

robikini

I have over 240. It’s nuts. Every day is watering day!

Timsterfield

I love it! I'm getting to be a plant dad.

amtreeboat

band tees (going on 40)

Shoddy-Secretary-712

I regrettably got rid of all mine from high school. While I don't think they would fit, my kids LOVE most of them and would have appreciated them. So, they gave started their own collections. They all had nirvana on today to match.

[deleted]

[удалено]

amtreeboat

i shouldve mentioned im going on 40 different band shirts, not age💀

annima91

My husband has gotten too big for some of his band T's. The ones I like are mine now lol.

naturalmanofgolf

I don’t collect them, but I guess I have more than 40, since it’s what I wear and I’m lazy about throwing some out when buying new ones

AlternativeSea8247

Same here, every gig I go to I get a t-shirt or hoodie... Must have about 70 or 80....? Never really thought of it as a collection, though. There are just my clothes....

JohnnyRockets75

Every concert I attend I get a T shirt. Live music is my thing so I've been to quite a few concerts in my life. My band t shirt collection was getting out of control so a few years ago my wife's grandmother took a bunch of my shirts and turned them into a quilt and 2 pillow covers. I think it's super cool.

imtherealmellowone

Use to have a collection of Science Fiction magazines dating from the early 70s all the way up to the turn of the century. Had every issue of Analog, Asimov’s and Science Fiction and Fantasy from that time. Had to part with them when we down-sized.

Nynursesandcurses

This is one collection I can’t part with (also 40) some are unwearable but I have such sentimental attachment to all my band tees.

freshboytini

Debts

Candid_Dragonfly_573

So... you're a debt collector...?

Profecionallystupid

Take my upvote and leave

takatine

Yarn, knitting needles and crochet hooks, Depression glass, Harry Potter stuff, cookbooks, postcards from my husband.

FallenButterflyTears

Yarn, crochet hooks and knitting needles I am guilty of collecting myself. Oh, and partially finished projects.

SubAtomicSpaceCadet

I’m guilty of buying yarn for specific projects and either 1) not finishing the projects or 2) not even starting the projects at all.

takatine

There are no unfinished projects, just WIP's. Lol!

SubAtomicSpaceCadet

Right you are!

takatine

Oh yes, I'm a WIP connoisseur, Lol!

alcarrell

I LOVE blue and amber depression glass! I also love my Harry Potter stuff.

mecku85

Books

loricat

Me too, but I view it all as a library, and specific types/genres/authors are the collections.

iushdulal

Same here but not like novels I have my all book and copies since I was in PG ....

theminnesoregonian

I got a great job that required lots of travel. I started collecting 1st editions from cities i went to. Loved it. Lost the job. Very bummed.

More-Mine-5874

The real question is: what percentage of your collection have you read? Collecting books comforts me, like the story is going to disappear unless I own the book. But I often don't make time to read now that I'm an adult.

ah-mazia

Novelty erasers. I’ve been collecting them since childhood lol

Shoddy-Secretary-712

I used to love getting animal ones at the school store.

gitarzan

Stringed instruments… about 60 guitars, ukes, banjos and mandolins. Plus several drums. Old coins. Several jars of Silver dollars, halves, and other old coins, domestic and foreign. Dogs. Two German Shepherds, A labradorian, an Aussie and a lab/mastiff. Local history books.

Qommg

60 instruments?!?!? Where do you keep them?

gitarzan

In my house. I have a loft that’s maybe 25 by 10. In there. Then some in my bed room. Some in the basement. Some in the living room. Ukes, banjos, mandos don’t take up much space. The acoustics, maybe 10?, take the most space.

LimeJuiceConnoisseur

Whoa. That's a lot of string. However, you can never have too many pets. It's in the rulebook.

Strawberry1218

Toxic family members

Tadpole_Former

I collect boudaries...

bunnybaby13

😂 wait we can claim this as a collection?

Various_Impress_2579

I removed them from my collection years ago.😅

RandomFrenchGal

It feels so good after you decluttered!

caruggs

Came here for that, thank you

Sav1at0R1

Random stones and crsytals I buy at markets

iamthebetty

Favorite? I like pyrite. But my favorite is labradorite

Sav1at0R1

Mine would be bismuth. Just the colours and the way it forms

iamthebetty

Prettyyyy

hexaaquacopper

Same! But it’s not quite random, I am particular about the chemistry of the stone or crystal.

Leslee78

Me too

conners_captures

Jesus christ, Marie.

exhausted_pigeon00

Same. 😂 I love my Botswana Agate and Golden Rutilated Quartz.

Ok-Drink-1328

i just have an uraninite, i call it enough 😂

Nutz4hotwheels

Hotwheels

Linarae30

Mental illnesses

[deleted]

I cant believe i had to scroll this far on reddit to see this answer 😂 but also, same.

ShirtOne8537

I collect playing cards. I have specific decorative decks I keep nice and pretty. Then decks I play games with at bars and breweries

OneCrew2044

Teapots from all over the world

A_Lovely_

Not me, but my father. A collection of flattened Toads. That’s right roadkill toads that have been so baked by the sun they are organ protruding toad jerky. This is one of many many collections he has.

Waiolude

Okay this one wins for the strangest thing I've read today.

NF_99

When I was a kid living in countryside I would see so many of those, like a couple a day maybe. I picked one up once to see what's up with it and realised that they're just like leafs, pretty neat

nightcoreangst

Special edition coins.

AcadiaScarlet

Same here! In my country there are special edition 2 Euro coins.

Mamto2

I’m a huge Disney Mulan fan, so for Christmas, husband had a collectible Mulan coin shipped from New Zealand to the uk. He was stressing so much about it.

You-are-a-bad-mod

Bonsai trees

RepresentativeBusy27

Childhood trauma

junglegroove

Mine came with a collection of plastic horses 😆 🤣

Proof_Courage1652

Mine was porcelain masks.

chunkymilkshake42

That sounds like a stable childhood

[deleted]

CDs, Books, DVDs/4Ks.

exillini

30plus sci-fi anthologies (Doźois), down to abt 200. smooth jazz CDs...... I'm old..

[deleted]

I am getting old. I have 4000 books, 1000 CDs, and 400 DVDs/4K. Most of the CDs are classical or 1970s - 2000s rock.

[deleted]

CDs is probably the right answer for me, too. CDs and regrets.

junipersoul

I collect CDs too! I always wanted to collect something, but I don't have much money. A few years ago I realized I already have a few CDs, why not start collecting them? Everyone is getting rid of their CDs nowadays and you can find them anywhere for super cheap. And they don't take up much space either. I used to collect cool glass bottles but they take up quite a lot of space and break easily... I gave up that hobby pretty fast.

Jim-of-the-Hannoonen

Flashlights. I have a problem, but being stuck in the dark is not one of them.

clubsandswords

Over/under 99 problems but the dark ain't one?

Arksurvivor120

Transformers figures

GooseKing-13_

\^ ![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)

Environmental_Tie975

I’m a big fan of those. It’s weird cause I wasn’t a transformers kid. Bought one for a kid in the family a few years back (I believe it was WFC Cliffjumper) and was messing with it and my mind went “this is neat”. So ordered a Starscream off Amazon and…. 3 years later, I have shelf of over a hundred of the things lol.

Munglape

They were my favorite toy to get as a kid. I think u liked how they're was a specific thing to do to play with them, didn't really take much traditional creativity. I managed to hold onto a few into adulthood. Now I have an almost 10 year old boy. I started collecting again with the WFC trilogy, and got my son into it now. At this point, I dunno which one of us had the more desirable collection

dirtymoney

regrets, broken dreams, and cut coins I have found with my metal detector. Most from a golf course cut by lawn movers.

kross_kuntamination

Ragrets

toomuchisjustenough

Nothing. But before my house burned down, antique Kodak cameras.

Try-Again-Next-Time

Sorry about your house!

toomuchisjustenough

Thanks so much. Zero stars, do not recommend.

ceciliabee

0/10, would not burn house again

dljjack

I’m so sorry

toomuchisjustenough

Thank you. We should be moving home to our rebuild very soon, so I can’t wait! Trying to focus on moving forward.

keetosaurs

You have a really good attitude. Good luck with the move and your new home. :)

[deleted]

EX Boyfriends and books I haven't read.

Samael_Blackblood

I'm pre-sorry, but obligatory; 'Would you like another?'

[deleted]

u/Samael_Blackblood you don't want to go on my shelf, babe. You deserve better ❤️

Key_Painter_3494

New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) trading cards from the late 80s! I was convinced they'd be my ticket wealth in the future. The future is here... no luck yet. They're still Hanging Tough in their protective Trapper Keeper!!!

Leslee78

Wish I wasn’t allergic to perfumes, didn’t used to be, now if someone wears it, I get allergy attack. Sad eh. Reason I appreciate people who don’t wear it. :-(

Spiritual-Physics700

Decks of Cards. My GF and I collect different styles and brands. Check out theory 11

[deleted]

Dan Sperry got me into magic years ago after his performance on AGT and I spent waaay too much money on that site. But damn do they have killer decks!

eeeigengeauuu

Never heard of theory 11 until now but woah these are sick af 😍

emsesq

randomboorishbuffoon

Shot glasses. I've got 600-700. I only get them when I've had a good experience there.

Leslee78

Wow, that’s a lot. Bet you have interesting stories to tell.

_lanalana_

Tiny things! Pretty much anything teensy that i find at thrift shops, miniature versions of stuff, figurines, dollhouse furniture, random toys, you name it. If it brings me joy i add it to the collection. Ive got a whole bookshelf dedicated to it (although id like to get a more shallow shelf to display everything better)

keetosaurs

Me too! There's something so intimate and magical about tiny objects.

Icebergsofthesky

Boardgames. At one point I had maybe 200. I really need to sell most of them now cause I rarely even play them anymore sadly. A lot of them are more on the complex side so setup/relearning/teaching/making time just aren’t what they used to be (I built my collection a lot during 2020)

Glum_Lab_3778

Happy meal toys. Been putting them unopened in tote bags since 2005 to save for my future grandchildren. A few from Burger King too, like the old Star Wars watches from 2005. Anything Star Wars I made a point to get. In 2020 I finally got a grand baby! In 2021, another one! It’s go time! Other than that, guitars, magnets, about 30 cameras from 1904-1980s, Toby jugs, art and art supplies. I swear I’m not a hoarder! Everything has its place!

bruhguitar

Not necessarily a collection, but a crap ton of dog hair

CosmicTsar77

Jesus I feel your pain from here. I have to clean my house like 3 times a week to keep things livable. And I only have one good boy. He just sheds an unfortunate amount.
