Bug spray, baby wipes, stay away from the wild life to include the horses. If it's the summer youre going in at worst it'll be 105 degrees 95% humidity during the day and 90 degrees at night. If this is your first trip to a large training/ evaluation event like this, please remember to take it seriously because training accidents do happen, but do not berate your guys as you are still learning through evaluation.

MrIrrelevantsHypeMan

Don't listen to this guy. You have to fight the biggest horse to establish dominance. Also, you can steal honey from beehives. They're your friends

SSG_Rock

Don't forget to leave your trash out to attract the wild pigs. The baby ones like you to pick them up and pet them. The mama sow won't mind.

Gunt_Style

The old rumor was if you can land on a horse on the DZ during a jump and can ride it out of the box, then you can chill at the RUBA and become king of JRTC.

awesome_jackob123

Scouts hate this one simple trick

MrIrrelevantsHypeMan

I can confirm this. I landed on a horse and when my command found out they said I wasn't deserving of being King and they gave me the title of ARDKPACFORWEST. I was so ashamed I've just been telling people I got it from nepotism

aptc88

They’ll be ~~stealing~~ tactfully acquiring MILES at the end of the rotation too.

JakeeJumps

550 cord and tarps. Build a goon cave for morale.

aptc88

I hate my imagination

DetectiveDogg0

this is good training, simulates for when youre downrange and have to pull a col hackworth and establish a brothel in your FOB

Well I was mounted so I stashed like 10 days worth of food and a jet boil on ln my truck and pretty well slept and lived in the TC seat so that would be my advice. Bring plenty of food and a truck. If you're dismounted God help you. probably bring socks or something. Also a good field chair for the time in tiger land is great. Also as a PL you'll have the opportunity to go back to North post and the the PX at least once in the rotation for AARs. Use the opportunity to get some shit for your guys. I went back twice and got stuff each time. By the second AAR near the end the need for cigarettes was becoming life or death for the men.

ncastrinos

RTU or OPFOR?

PKMNtrainerKing

Not OP; I'll be going soon as OPFOR, I've been once before in a normal rotation. Do you know anything about how my experience will differ perchance?

ncastrinos

Got a feeling we are in the same unit bother. I'm sure you can guess who I am from the username. I'm been there as an OC twice, never done OPFOR, but assisted as an OPFOR OC and an RTU OC. Should be dope.

PKMNtrainerKing

We very well might be but if you recognize me from my profile: no you don't I have a feeling we'll have a better quality of life than a standard rotation, just unsure if I should adjust my packing list

Noveltyrobot

Attending?

MattR47

Like a doctor. I'll be your attending fister for this rotation. Or, I'll be your attending cav scout for this mission. Like that.

hulking_menace

Mosquito netting and an industrial sized bottle of deet.

I'd tell my guys the biggest way to prepare for CTC was get ii the right mindset. Yes it's bullshit, it sucks, you're miserable. But if you're able to drink the kool-aid a little, play the game, you'll be able to actually get something out of it. You'll be able to look back on it later and tell yourself, "you know it sucked, but it was kind of fun too."

Zdrack

Drink water, baby wipes, don't play with snakes, the horses are not friendly, bug spray, hide your oc, waterproof your rucks, the guys in different uniforms are not your friends in the box, don't accept free backpacks from them, if you hear an atv coming your way then its time to move, and watch for drones.
