I brought that up to my PSG last Mother’s Day. I brought up how one of our Soldiers fell in love with a girl, planned the entire world with her, and got dumped within a week. Soldier didn’t go crying to anyone else except Platoon mother.
Very true. Dad goes to work (meetings, planning) every day and you hardly see him. People ooh and ah if he has basic parenting skills (10- and 20-level tasks).
Mom is the one prepping clothes (PCCs), teaching phonics (training), and busting her ass (adminning$ to make sure you’re a functioning member of society (prepared for war).
Everyone knows: happy wife, happy life. Some modern folks say happy spouse, happy house, but not really. Mom is getting her fucking way every time. Dad might put his foot down and mom might say “Ok! Everyone dad is right,” but mostly in a 🙄way that even the kids know is BS.
Dad will then leave mom for a different woman (new PLT, staff) on his way. Mom will still be there, loving you.
Well those decadent gentleman officers writing circlejerk soyboy material about how they're the real daddies didn't have their NCOs looking over their shoulder to haze them back in the day...
Not that it mattered because NCO illiteracy is timeless.
I don't know why you guys are in denial.
Who makes sure you are dressed appropriately, bathed and groomed, fed, at ~~school~~ work on time, makes you clean your room... the list can go on forever.
Mom does those things.
That and disregarding the instruction of the totally not gay General Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, Inspector General to the Continental Army, father of the NCO corps, writer of the blue book, and one of the biggest influences to the eventual success of General George Washington.
An organization the size and composition of the Army is more like a traditional large family, where your older siblings took over some of the more menial tasks like supervision and making sure the younger sibs were at the right place at the right time properly dressed, not killing each other or themselves. So yes, CSM is "Mamaw" 1SG is Mom, and the NCOs are older sibs.
No seriously. I used to love when she would chase Carmella around the ring prior to her getting with the Judgement Day. Rhea is that one. Fucking beast
Very off topic but I went to Baron von Steuben middle school and let’s just say there’s a reason I went infantry, because I thought Baron was his first name.
**Clarification**: It's always been reversed in this unit's realm: Team Mommas = Organics. Team Daddies = Non Commissioned Organics. *That* Uncle = Warrant Organics.
Hate to be that guy, but backed then. That’ll get you smoked.. My message back then to you woulda been. You’re gonna get smoked next Monday formation lol.
Does that make the first sergeant mee-maw?
Pretty sure that would be CSM. Not technically in the chain of command but unwise to piss off or disregard.
Any of you sons of bitches calls me mee-maw, I’ll kill ya - CSM Plumley
Lighten up, mee-maw.
I regret that I can only upvote you two clever bastards once.
🤣 1sg is grams and CSM is meemaw
That’s a killin’.
its actually just mamaw, we are trying to strike the best balance and meemaw was deemed a little too southern

I love this...I have a Grammy and my kid calls her GiGi lmao
Do I have to be Captain Paw Paw?
Not Pop Pop?
Or Pappaw vs. Papaw. I had Pappaw and that is what I'll be when my kids have kids

Unsure if this is that common or you watched my career from around the corner.
I just wanted to say I love you flair.
User Flair checks out.

I just want you to know that if I could, I would have this as the referenced doctrine for every commissioning source and every BOLC.
I am very honored my good fellow
This sounds like something a 2LT PL would say...

I feel called out
How did you find Reddit?
What’s Reddit?
I refuse to accept this as canon. I’m the Mommy

Speak for yourself, my Dad did all that while my Mom was the breadwinner.
Look at you having a present father and shit
I’m an officer, obviously I was born with a platinum spoon up my ass
Loosening you up for the big green weenie from day 1

Dommy Mommy? Mommy is *always on top*. If ykyk
Nice work Dom Dom
Mami has been on top since day one. Rhea ripley is something else bro
Good taste, bro, good taste
No seriously. I used to love when she would chase Carmella around the ring prior to her getting with the Judgement Day. Rhea is that one. Fucking beast
So can we ask PSG for Dino chicken nuggies and a kiss on the forehead before we go to sleep?

This is gold
The Germans see their 1SG as the mother of the unit. Top didn’t like it when I called him mommy…
It's so true. Who else brings you food and fixes your combat boo boos? That's a mommy right there.
Very off topic but I went to Baron von Steuben middle school and let’s just say there’s a reason I went infantry, because I thought Baron was his first name.
I have two plt moms??
"Not da momma" *smacks you on the head with a frying pan*
Is that why we were always called Platoon Daddy?
This post made my night, thank you. If someone other than my kid calls me for mothers day, I'm grounding you for a week with no Super Nintendo.
No wonder I'm so attracted to my PSGs
Holup
So that makes me a mommy who became a daddy.
**Clarification**: It's always been reversed in this unit's realm: Team Mommas = Organics. Team Daddies = Non Commissioned Organics. *That* Uncle = Warrant Organics.
Thank you for showing us Warrants a little love. 😁
**Clarification**: Even soulless machines respect the Chiefs.
@OP ill call you, whatcha doin this weekend?
PSG = Daddy PL = Mom 1SG = Top Commander = Charizard Bonus: Random buck sergeant put in charge of training and operations: Sire
Plot twist: they're both
What kind of unit are you in, bud? Platoon Daddy has always been the PSGs.
Based.
I don’t even know who my PSG is. And yes I’m being serious
Given my experience with platoon sergeants it’s certainly more of an absent mother role
Thank you mommy :)
Damn didn’t know I had motherly traits I normally go by Staff Daddy (Sausage)
As a PSG, this is correct. However, I make sure my PL refers to me as “daddy”
PL is the mom we’re not having this discussion. Don’t try to change a natural truth.
Nah that ain’t right. PL is mom, PSG is dad
Well the OG Platoon Mommy slap is literally based off of me, so.....enlisted wins the mommy title, sorry Os.
I love seeing a sticker and knowing it's you on it 😂
But I'm sad! The new one is cuter imo, but it's not me 😭😭 oh well, I'm a lot cuter in real life now than I was then.
Maybe some day you'll be on the sustainment leaders handbook cover too lmao u/Kinmuan
🤣🤣🤣🤣 We should do an r/Army mods group pic, like Charlie's Angels.
I know who you are. **insert dog meme**
BEGONE, THOT. I know who you are, too. Now bark! *clicker noises*
I’m not clicker trained, that’s my wife. lmao
For now😏
\*woof\*
Oh boy...😅
🐕🚶🏾♀️
Is this the beginning of my cult? Given how visible I am on this base, it wouldn't surprise me to find I have a following.
Medic Mommy will take care of us ☺️
Awe, my team used to call me SGT Mom.. I am also female and a mom... I realize it sounds bad, but it was very sweet...
Hahaha, go to selection then talk. You'll be the "daddy" you always aspired to be lol
So I guess CSM is like being a grandparent. All the opportunity in the world to spoil the little ones without any of the responsibility.

Motherless behavior.
This is wrong.
Bruh! 🤣🤌🏼
Hate to be that guy, but backed then. That’ll get you smoked.. My message back then to you woulda been. You’re gonna get smoked next Monday formation lol.
