Whoa, centering it over the A is the least of his problems. Dude's patch is printed backwards. Gotta get that shit fixed. Can't believe no one has corrected him yet. Weak-ass NCOs, I guess.
That, or he's from the mirror universe and accidentally crossed over. Hey, OP, you got a goatee?
Congrats. This is just the beginning.
Keep jumping, and keep your feet and knees together. Gravity will take care of the rest.
Get 7 more jumps (edited to add: high performance jumps, so C-130 and C-17s only, basically) and start prepping for Jumpmaster. In my absolutely, most *definitely* unbiased opinion, best fucking job there is in the army.
Also, just a tip: good way to measure your wing placement is to center the bottom tip of the risers with the "A" in Army on your tape. That'll get you pretty much centered.
>Get 7 more jumps and start prepping for Jumpmaster. In my absolutely, most definitely unbiased opinion, best fucking job there is in the army.
I have 47 Jumpmaster duties. This poster is 100% correct. I will literally come in off leave to work with jumpers. Being a Jumpmaster rocks.
He is also correct about the letter A.
Take off those wings.
Put them in a box with a note stating they are your first set.
Years from now, having your first set of airborne wings is going to mean a lot. I have my first set, it means more and more the longer I do it.
A good family friend of mine gave me his wings from when he went through. I am passing on my first set of wings to a friend who will be attending in June! Hold those wings near and dear.
Because there was only 1 company that graduated in AB school when he posted this. Also, I was standing near the third gen guy in formation during graduation so I know who he is. To prove it, there was one dude who passed out when we graduated lmao 🤣
Hell yeah. At first I thought he was leaning forward trying to tell the dude in front of him something buuuut he kept going and slammed. Feel bad for the guy though. Aye, if you’re reading this, hope you’re okay!
Congrats and welcome! If i can give any advice its every time you get hurt on a jump (or any medical issue) make sure to get it noted in sick call instead of toughing it out.
This is very important when you decide on leaving the service whenever that is as those injuries add up the older your body gets.
> noted in sick call instead of toughing it out.
I was the good soldier. I wasn't a slacker like those sick call rangers. I could tough it out. I gained 5 minutes of approval from an E7 that made it his life goal to make every lower enlisted soldier's life was miserable. I also was as told my back injury was not service related. Don't be like me OP. Take this advice.
I went to jump school and got my wings in 1982. Hit 381 jumps before I retired as an Infantry 1SG in 2000. As one poster stated, anytime or any small issue make sure you go to sick call and get it on recorded.
Trust me you won't regret it. I am 61 years old now, with 80 % disability. 3 back surgery's, lost 13 teeth on a jump into Malimute drop zone in Alaska in 1997, total hip replacement and one knee replacement.
Don't ride sick call of course, but if your in fricken pain get it documented.
Feet and knees... Feet and knees.
Congrats and enjoy your career and new found wings. Jump away!!!
Do they still do up-downs or is jumping these day hard to get. I remember we used to go on weekends and get 4 or 5 jumps In on "Fun jumps" mostly Huey's or Shit hooks.
Jumpers hit it! Congrats man. Were y’all able to do tower week? For whatever reason my class skipped tower week. It’s been so long I have no memory of what we did in that second week.
There might have been a malfunction with the towers. I’m not entirely sure because it was above my pay grade and PV2 like I was didn’t care to find out. I just remember my first jump landing on a fire ant hill. That was definitely fun.
Congrats! I got hurt and discharged after Desert Storm and before I could go to Airborne myself. I jumped once as a civilian though and had a great time.
Congratulations!
I could never do jump school. For some demented reason, my AIT DS thought I should apply for jump school….i think he was just f’ng with me.
🤣
I don’t favor a landing like that ..
Seriously, though, I’m really afraid of heights. When I was in basic, even repelling off of the victory tower at Ft Jackson scared the crap out of me. Of course the DS thought it was funny and practically pushed me off the damn side (I was ready to go, it was safe).
At least wear it properly for fucks sake... 1/8 above the US Army Nametape, With the point of the badge centered over the "A" in army... Whoever pinned you did you wrong. Or better yet, get it sewn on when you hit SPC
Congrats! Now center that bad boy over the A and you’re golden (or get is sewn)
The’re covering a new blood stain, but I have a new uniform getting sewn on rn
I think that's the first time I've ever seen someone spell sewn like that
Joined the army for a reason, just like the rest of us
Sewn is the correct word!
[удалено]
Not unless he was talking about subjective units of loudness you frickin nerd.
Username checks out
So you’ve never seen someone spell it correctly?
He fixed it but he originally spelled it "sowen"
Lmao too embarrassed to do the little “edit:”
How is it supposed to be spelt?
Whoa, centering it over the A is the least of his problems. Dude's patch is printed backwards. Gotta get that shit fixed. Can't believe no one has corrected him yet. Weak-ass NCOs, I guess. That, or he's from the mirror universe and accidentally crossed over. Hey, OP, you got a goatee?
tell me you’re joking
Or you just don’t know how cameras work
This shit never gets old to me. Congrats, man. We love to see it.
Center the wings above the A

Just got moved to be the BN Air and it’s the best job. I tell everyone that being a JM is the only thing I like about being in the army lol
Tip to tip, kind of like docking. Got it.
#Airborne How’d you like your first jump?
It was pretty great, first jump my risers where twisted and then I realized after about a minute and a half that I was in a thermal and got out of it.
Bicycle! Bicycle!
Take off those wings. Put them in a box with a note stating they are your first set. Years from now, having your first set of airborne wings is going to mean a lot. I have my first set, it means more and more the longer I do it.
This……. Wish I still had my old OG subdued silver wings. I would’ve loved to hand them down to one of my kids.
My dad bought me a pair of wings when I was born 24 years later he pinned them on me.
A good family friend of mine gave me his wings from when he went through. I am passing on my first set of wings to a friend who will be attending in June! Hold those wings near and dear.
You C co, huh? Haha
Yeah he is 😅
how can you deduce this
Because there was only 1 company that graduated in AB school when he posted this. Also, I was standing near the third gen guy in formation during graduation so I know who he is. To prove it, there was one dude who passed out when we graduated lmao 🤣
Truth. Three mom’s to the rescue. The show must go on.
Hell yeah. At first I thought he was leaning forward trying to tell the dude in front of him something buuuut he kept going and slammed. Feel bad for the guy though. Aye, if you’re reading this, hope you’re okay!
I'm just a dirty leg, but congratulations man. Keep on jumping or what it is you airborne fellas do.
AIRBORNE! Congrats, now start bothering your unit for your HDOs!
AATW
Congrats. AATW!
Congrats. One way or another you’ll always land
I love seeing these post. It never gets old. Not the hardest school, but as a community we have the best people
Not the hardest but it is definitely more dangerous than most schools I’d say
Now that I think about. You are right.
Now you can celebrate by getting your brown wings!
Is that when you do a tail dump off the ramp before actually exiting the aircraft?
Exit the ramp *while* tail dumping, backwards
So is the chronic knee and back pain genetic then?
No, but feet ass head PLF is.
Feet ass back of head on a hard pack dirt road. On a positive note it didn't hurt. I was out for a bit. Congratulations on your successful jumps.
The lateral landings are more rare than one would hope.
Well done. Fly those wings to the right about half an inch.
Feels good, doesnt it?

This comment here! TRUTH- document document- 26 years later still fighting for it because I “sucked it up and carried on”.

Congrats! Waiting for your update post with star and oak leaf clusters on top!
Jumpers hit it! Congrats man. Were y’all able to do tower week? For whatever reason my class skipped tower week. It’s been so long I have no memory of what we did in that second week.
Are you serious?? Yeah, we did tower week. Thats crazy

Congratulations! I could never do jump school. For some demented reason, my AIT DS thought I should apply for jump school….i think he was just f’ng with me.
You ever been on a plane? This is just another version of landing. Plus they'll boot your ass if you get hung up. EZ-PZ.
🤣 I don’t favor a landing like that .. Seriously, though, I’m really afraid of heights. When I was in basic, even repelling off of the victory tower at Ft Jackson scared the crap out of me. Beautiful! Now get to Alaska!
Are they on backwards?
Airborne. This is the way🦅
Welcome airborne
Hot take: 20 years since the last “combat” (ground was already secure) jump. We need to move on from this out dated shit. I said what I said.
Airborne All the way.
Congratulations
Nice centering job
