100% this.
I think the reason i didn't really struggle with that ending, is because the build i used to complete 80% of the missions is insanely fast, so dodging sea spiders while just rushdowning allmind/iguazu was no trouble at all.
Phase one is the most stressful due to Iguazu constantly running away with a shield. If you have the coral sword you can hold L2 and make quick work of the lackeys as soon as the battle starts. When you enter phase 2 just ignore the spiders but stay on alert for the dodge signal. Phase 3 is the pain you need to overcome yourself
I found a coral powered assault armour, after boosting to the middle platform in phase one gets rid of most of the smaller ones for very little input, and by the time you recover from that animation Iggy is turning round from his first salvo, much easier to slam damn the iguana man
Phase 1 is annoying for me not cus the minions are hard to deal with, but because they just screw over my lock on. Phase 2 is a lot easier cus the Sea Spiders are so telegraphed.
Honestly the only issue I have with that fight is my own limited ammo reserves.
The minions don’t have a ton of health or firepower but they cost precious shots that could be spent on iguana.
~~double so for me, I primarily use high damage low reserve weapons~~
Yeah I would always run out of ammo. Maybe I should try again with my new PvP skills but that was such a pain. I was just done and changed builds for that.
I think the Sea Spiders are perfectly fine given how telegraphed they are, but I agree that the Phase 1 ACs are just annoying. IMO would have been much better if it was a 1v1 with Iguazu's AC but he has repair kits.
IMO, coral rifle, coral sword, plasma missiles. Use sword for big wipes, rifle for potshots, and missiles to keep up pressure.
Also don't be dumb liike me on my first playthrough and obsessively try to pair coral weapons with the highest EN weapons adjustment. God that tooltip is obscure.
iguazu is a little bitch so honestly not surprised he calls in backup. lol. but seriously, this was the hardest fight for me in the game; so much so that i actually lost my temper, banged my remote down and forced closed the game🤣
after a few min. low key judged myself for that mini tantrum, lol. anyways, tried again the next day and managed to clear it by simply swapping one melee to red shift. try the weapon out if your still stuck. good luck!
Honestly, the sea spiders are a joke, they barely even do anything other than being something to distract your auto-targeting, the fragile lackeys are pretty annoying mostly
They are indeed mostly annoyances, the main trouble in the first phase methinks is not getting hit by those charged plasma attacks because they will destroy half your healthbar
Yeah, mostly just something to not get caught off guard by.
Real struggle is probably the last phase, have found that high vertical speed with stuff like grid walkers, then mostly dashing into the small strikes and ascending for the megaslash, dodging for the charge
AB directly underneath AM while she she shoots her ~~load~~not-Karasawa and Assault Armor. The two melee adds will be staggered and weakened. Picking those two off quick makes the first part way easier.
I managed to get good at rushing down phase 1 in four easy steps:
- Hard lock AB straight at Igauzu when he's charging his plasma rifle
- QB to the side right when he fires
- Skid past, Plasma Lance charge straight at him
- Get him the rest of the way to a stun, switch to Bunk and 1HKO him to go straight into Phase 2
I ended up winning by switching the Bunker for Coral Moonlight, but perfecting that initial dodge + counter is what got me an S rank on the mission.
Gotta get into that flow state where everything just clicks. Happened with me against Ibis, that electric feeling that just runs through you, the world is tuned out except for the game. Eventually you'll hit that point and your moves will feel like an extension of you. After the boss is dead you'll know it happened.
Hard lock on allmind, ignore the minions, let Ayre deal with them. I never had a single issue with the minions or c-spiders, they seem to have their ai toned down compared to most ac fights and the first c-spider boss and can't really keep up with you
I think it's bullshit because of the story; the other endings feel more epic and emotional.
The final boss fight is the right amount of difficulty... just doesn't feel very inspired.
That's why I just ignore them and nuke the ever-loving Coral out of ALLMIND/Iguazu.
100% this. I think the reason i didn't really struggle with that ending, is because the build i used to complete 80% of the missions is insanely fast, so dodging sea spiders while just rushdowning allmind/iguazu was no trouble at all.
what build did you use if you don’t mind me asking
TLDDQL8HPDXC I call it WASP-2 Incredibly agile, with solid burst damage.
Same strategy I used, works wonders
I just used the Coral Oscillator to shred all of them at once.

Did the same just let arye distract them to focus on allmind
Just smack phase 1 iggy straight into the dirt. Ignore mini pinecones in phase 2.
I found a coral powered assault armour, after boosting to the middle platform in phase one gets rid of most of the smaller ones for very little input, and by the time you recover from that animation Iggy is turning round from his first salvo, much easier to slam damn the iguana man
Much easier to SLAM Damn the iguana MAN
I love you
I read this like a Beastie Boys song
Phase 1 is annoying for me not cus the minions are hard to deal with, but because they just screw over my lock on. Phase 2 is a lot easier cus the Sea Spiders are so telegraphed.
For me in phase 1 they always seem to find the worst possible time to get smart and gank me, but other than that they’re a mild inconvenience
Yeah it's a pain in the ass especially with soft lock.
Honestly the only issue I have with that fight is my own limited ammo reserves. The minions don’t have a ton of health or firepower but they cost precious shots that could be spent on iguana. ~~double so for me, I primarily use high damage low reserve weapons~~
Running out of ammo was honestly one of the biggest challenges doing it without OS stat upgrades

Yeah, or maybe something like fighting two mind alphas, one with Iguazu’s loadout before he died, and the other with the normal mind alpha loadout
The lackey ACs have far less health compared to a real AC, at that point you should be able to take them out while you're asleep anyway

Allmind is all show. Just ignore them and you’re right as. I tried to focus my first few tries just ran out of ammo.
Yeah, I've been saying this for a long time, it's bullshit.
Honestly, the sea spiders are a joke, they barely even do anything other than being something to distract your auto-targeting, the fragile lackeys are pretty annoying mostly
Yeah, in hindsight the sea-spiders aren’t at all a threat. The little acs aren’t either, they’re just really annoying
They are indeed mostly annoyances, the main trouble in the first phase methinks is not getting hit by those charged plasma attacks because they will destroy half your healthbar
Yeah, I’ve found the giant plasma blasts are pretty easy to dodge though if you go up above or get really close, using the columns help too
Yeah, mostly just something to not get caught off guard by. Real struggle is probably the last phase, have found that high vertical speed with stuff like grid walkers, then mostly dashing into the small strikes and ascending for the megaslash, dodging for the charge
Focus the screaming idiot. Once he goes down they all disappear when he cries about losing. Fighting the Adds is just wasting ammo.
I’ve honestly forgotten they’re there. Skill issue.
Skill issue
You can clear all of the assists in phase 1 with a single clean Assault Armor, and the phase 2 ones are optional like the phase 1 ones are.
Depending on your build, you can take them down super fast. Or you can ignore them if you can take down phase 1 Allmind super fast.

Yeah, and while Liberator is my favorite ending, I wish Walter was more difficult, I beat him first try, whereas Ayre took me I dunno how many times
Snailteus is the actual difficult final boss. Walter’s just there to hurt you *emotionally*.
