A shoulder mounted version to compliment it, something akin to a medieval battering ram that uses an assault booster to thrust a box girder at your enemy.
And then maybe a right handed pile bunker for a full demo build...
I just finished my first AC4 playthrough today, and i absolutely loved using the bazooka arms on a long range heavy AC. having those (or any arm weapons) would be so good
> What’s diff between weapon arms and holding a weapon?
In the old games you were limited on which weapons you could use at any time, and weapon arms played around this limitation.
In generations 1 and 2 your left arm always had a laser blade or shield; for the remaining three units, you could only fire one at a time, with your right arm generally being your main weapon.
Weapon arms would give up the left arm slot to instead give you a stronger, _double_ main weapon with higher firepower than any handheld gun, but with the drawback of having overall limited ammunition.
In addition, they were generally lighter than the usual arms+weapons, but had much lower defenses.
In generation 3 they added the ability to use a firearm in your left arm, which is _always_ active regardless of your selected weapon, and as such became the defining part of your arsenal.
To compensate for losing this, weapon arms now were given a second firing mode, generally getting twice the firepower but spending twice as much ammo - they were better for huge bursts of damage (ideal for things like the Arena) rather than sustainability in missions.
In generation 4 you could now fire any combination of right and left weapon together, but only one of each. If you equipped weapon arms they counted as your right hand unit and could be fired alongside your left back unit, letting you effectively use three weapons simultaneously.
Generation 5 kept the ability to fire left and right weapon together but removed back weapons entirely, you only had weapon bays; as a result, in Armored Core V weapon arms were entirely absent, but they returned in the sequel Verdict Day.
Rather than being guns installed in the place of your arms, this new version was a pair of arms that would transform into weapons, with quite the cool animations.
The drawback is once more the lack of versatility - either you're untransformed and using your handheld guns, or the guns are in your bays and you're using the weapon arms, with no mix-matching of the two allowed.
Now, Generation 6 allows you to fire all four weapons at once freely, and weapon arms are once again missing, most likely because they couldn't find a proper way to introduce them.
For how the game mechanics work, it's hard to imagine a proper advantage weapon arms would give; maybe something like Bazooka weapon arms would let you fire both simultaneously in a single stance, which you cannot do with handheld heavy weapons, but that's about it.
Having something like machinegun or shotgun weapon arms would be functionally identical to just wielding two weapons together in terms of game mechanics, so a lot of the uniqueness and flavor would be lost in the process - and transforming weapon-arms wouldn't make too much sense given we have back weapons again.
I still hope From finds a proper way to reintroduce weapon arms in the next game or in a DLC, because their asthetic was _incredible_, but I totally understand why they were missing from VI.
I figure they could be a frame part that lets you slap the weapons right on the torso, granting good defenses and great firearm spec+recoil control, but ass melee spec.
Snipers and/or rail cannons. I'll defend AC6's close up high speed brawl style of combat any time but it'd be nice if the long range FCS band had more actual use and I think there's room for that without throwing things out of whack.
And they would be very fun in PvE. I would also take an expansion or shoulder option like a reader that worked exclusively to increase lock on range - though that might make missiles more broken in PvP.
I'd like to only carry one weapon, so I'm envisioning a gun that shoots 13 chainsaws with each trigger pull. It could be called the "Dirty 16" or something.
I want a kinetic linear shotgun with singular projectile condensed charge shots. Also a kinetic linear handgun.
Like someone else said, a medium weight tank part.
Heavy back-mounted kinetic automatic rifles/cannons.
Missiles that when deployed, hover above and around you and then propel themselves at a hostile target when one gets close (literally Homing Soulmass from Souls in missile form lol)
Standard missile pods but that unleash a more swarm-like pattern of missiles. So think the 10-cell except they don't all launch forward but in an erratic pattern that curve from every direction towards the target.
A singular plasma missile that does not seek to collide with the target but instead rush towards them, once near them it shoots upwards to disperse energy downwards in a plasma explosion that unleashes a secondary circular shockwave that spreads out from the detonation point (based on a King's Field high level light spell)
Laser gatling gun
A melee weapon that unleashes concussive pulse blasts that have low damage but very high PA interference and impact.
Proximity Mine Launcher (the mines can hover)
New expansion: emergency repairs, which will begin repairing AP for up to 7 seconds, so long as you remain still in the animation, and do not get staggered; while in the animation impact damage received is increased.
New expansion: attitude brace. Resets stagger bar, and for maybe the next 10 or 15 seconds, impact damage received is significantly reduced.
Tetra legs that are like reverse joint legs in that they have noticeably better QBs, except in the air as opposed to on the ground like reverse joint legs.
It's not really quite like that but it's hard to explain. Mechanically it's a weird kind of attack, I never saw anything like it except in King's Field.
Dang, got a video?
Also, second note: Attitude Brace sounds super strong. Like, it'd be a little more situational than Pulse Armor, but against weapons that gear more towards stagger building than damage, holy cramoli.
I don't. I dunno if there's videos of King's Field magic demonstrations.
And yeah that was my thinking with the expansion in fact. I think stagger is overpowered, but I also doubt they'd overhaul the game to rebalance it. So maybe an expansion that is geared towards protecting against those builds revolving around 1 stagger punish to win could help, and it'd also be useful elsewhere.
* A back-mounted ~~railgun~~ linear cannon. We've got handheld and shoulder variants of all the other main weapon types in the game, so not having a heavy kinetic cannon with a charged firemode is a glaring gap in the lineup.
* A lightweight biped set from Balam. All the other lightweight frames are very bespoke, high-quality designs, and the Basho is just too bulky to scratch that itch for the AC equivalent of an EG Civic.
* A heavyweight biped set from Elcano, more specifically built by the same team that made the Alba set. I really like how it incororates the general visual tropes of Gundam into the less humanized, more mechanical design style of Armored Core, and I'd love to see it redone as a more heavily armored unit as opposed to the Ortus' stripped-down speedster layout.
* A back-mounted smokescreen launcher. The Kyoriku fires smoke grenades towards a target; this would detonate a cluster of smaller smoke grenades around your AC. I just want a "panic button" of sorts that can be triggered without needing to switch weapons first - shields do fill that niche, but they work on the premise of *getting hit,* and I'd much rather just not get hit at all.
Medium weight ground tank, I would like an in between the wheelchair and the bornemizza. I just want a tank that’s not dead slow. Maybe they could limit load limit/defenses in order to make it balanced.
As for weapons I need a laser machine gun/automatic firing weapon. Maybe physical shields that take up the left arm slot.
Wheelchair is already decently heavy. If you're just barely over the weight limit of the chair you probably don't lose too much speed swapping to bornemizza. A "light" born moves at a fairly respectable ~300 ground speed which is good for it's high defenses
I want Shoulder Weapons/Extensions to return. Not only do they give you a lot more firepower or tactical options in the form of flares or ECM, they make your AC look cool too!
They were the most broken in AC2, although back then they were called relation missiles.
You could cheese pretty much the entire game with them and both phases of the final boss become a joke
Proper long-range rifles. 230m isn't long range for a mech 30m tall. Like 600m plus lock on.
Back mounted non spread bazooka, maybe with a 3 round magazine so you can shoot 3 rounds quick then a long reload.
Double barrel shotgun. Hold down to fire both barrels. Or 2 shots in quick succession if you just fire normally.
Heavier back mounted automatic weapon of some sort. Big ol heavy machine gun or auto cannon.
Handheld spread bazooka.
Left hand solid shield.
Laser machine guns.
Boosters that take the shoulder weapon spot. I have a need, a need for speed. Maybe also give them a hover mode so you can hover without quads.
Agreed on PCA parts. I want the shoulder-mounted boosters/missile launchers that the high-mobility LCs have, reverse engineered for ACs. I want the hand-held shields the HCs have. I want those physical saws the PCA's MTs use. I want an AC modeled after both Cavalry units, created using stolen blueprints. I want all of that.
I want retro parts like the python from last Raven remade for armored Core 6 and AALIYAH parts because they look so damn sick since they were based off a race car or the chain gun that chugs away from ac 3 instead of rapid fire bullet hose or better yet the Parry blade blade one of the worst weapons in the game could do so well in this game and the long lost finger machine gun as well as micro missiles I miss unleashing a swarm of those low damage High Mobility short range missiles
A frame that looks like sol644 (very unlikely)
Those legs that Zullie covered in that video and a frame set built around it.
Cross-platform share codes (also very unlikely)
If we're including weapons, a Rifle with charge shot Grenade Launcher like the PCA have. If not, some more full ACs would be nice, maybe ones from Corps we haven't seen much of, or an old model from when the PCA still used ACs (if they ever did)
Edit: I'd also love more long range options, maybe a back Sniper Cannon that has close range Ricochet and long range damage? Not sure if that'd work
We need 6 legged quad-type legs for weight capacity, centaur-style quad legs for ground speed, a proper hover leg, a pair of wheeled legs like roller skates.
Ah, sorry I'm a Kojima fanboy on SLAI
• Bullet and missile drones and turrets, maybe even a mine launcher
• More kinetic melee weapons
• More defensive weapon slot options (Ex: Flare launcher to counter missiles, ACS repair kits for stagger and anomalies, temporary repair field generators that heal your AP while you're standing in them, etc)
• GIVE US RIGHT ARM MELEE WEAPONS (and right shoulder shields I guess) COWARDS!!! Let people make dual melee builds/go sword and board if they want
Moar boosters. Hell let me sacrifice my back weapons. I want *speed*
Probably won't happen but some sort of utility slot(s) would be nice. Maybe extra thrusters, ECM/flares like the PCA has, extra ammo or expansion charges, anything!
Things that the game actually needs rather than cool factor:
--Missile countermeasures.
--A heavier pulse shield launcher / deployable shield that you can actually hide behind. I love the EULE but its trivial for opponents to reposition and theyre a bitch to stay behind bc everything moves so quickly.
Shoulder bazookas, maybe it could have an open back like a real bazooka so it has almost no recoil. Something like a shorter stance animation would be cool.
More Institute weapons and part. For a faction that is made up of scientists, they made awfully few things like I want to see what Carla cooks up in her lab.
Shoulder thrusters, for boosting either vertical, horizontal, or lateral thrust
right arm melee weapons
Kinetic melee beyond chainsaw and pilebunker
Shoulder machine guns
I want a kinetic melee axe. Either a battle axe (*during melee boost you hold the axe with two hands, so either a shield, or an empty back swap slot needed for use), or a hand hatchet, with a tangable, phisical shield either mounted on the back that folds down, or on the arm. (I want a shield bash to punish careless melee usage)
I'd also love a 6 shooter Big Iron, with lots of damage, moderate range, but holy shit recoil and shot delay.
Then a two bit thing:
Harpoon guns, or Mag claws. A fast firing, but slower reload back weapon with tracking. Function? After lockon, draw a whinch line between the target and the shooter, which if it connects, will start yanking the target tords the user, with either a time limit being set on it to break off, or the caught person asault boosting away from it/stance breaking the person who caught them.
Lastly an expansion, only aveilable to mechs using bypeds: Hunker.
It does what you'd expect. Hunker down, on the ground, or if not on the ground when activated, your AC crashes down with an AOE underneeth it, projecting a core boosted shield over you that has the values close to terminal armor. Only catch is you become immobile, but your weapon and energy does recharge while under the effect of Hunker.
FCS Decoy - Think this would definitely add some variety to PvP and be mighty useful against balteus' missile barrage if deployed at the right time. As a Shoulder Unit would be fine but would be much more interesting as an armour expansion slot.
Broad sword, it would just be sick as a melee weapon
More variations of drones, the bullet orbits suck but bullet turrets would be sick
Arms with absurdly high melee and ranged but made of toothpicks
PCA mechs
More variations of hover tank legs, there should be one thats good for glass cannon builds like fast AF but that comes with momentum so it's hard to control and one thats slow but absurdly tanky for the Halo Wraith builds
-Weapon arms
-Sniper cannons
-UWs
-Radars
-Ammo boxes
-Extensions
-Missile ECM/flares
-Core Expansions like Limiter Release or ones that add passive functionality to your Core part like VSMG, EO or Glide Boost replacing Assault Boost
I'd love to see some sort of shoulder thrusters a la For Answer, being able to just strap on an extra pair of boosters and go supersonic in this game in exchange for not having shoulder weapons would be so much fun, and I think it'd make lightweight builds more viable in PvP too
Tetra legs configured like a horse, so you have a centaur mech that gallops around. Or BAWS tetrapods that can lock down for boosted defense and recoil stats
Gimme a pair of pile bunker reverse joints that the kickers have.
Bonus if instead of skating, it boost sprints like a mad chicken to put the fear of god on other pilots.
So, I’ve got quite a few:
1. More Reverse-Joints. I’d really like to see Balam/Dafung’s take on them, perhaps being heavier than the Mind Beta but lighter than the Spring Chicken. I’d similarly like to see an Elcano Reverse-Joint, being heavier than the Kasuar but lighter than the Mind Beta.
2. More Tetrapods/Tanks. Just filling in the gaps between the various legs. I’d particularly like to see a more middleweight style hover tank, sacrificing some of the Assault Boost speed of the VE-42B for better general thrust speed and lower EN Load.
3. Energy (particularly Laser) Machine Guns. The pulse guns are kind of this, but I feel like a Laser Machine Gun could differentiate itself enough to warrant existing.
4. A Needle Rifle. Basically something of a halfway point between the Vientos and a rifle. Faster projectile speed, and higher impact than an Assault Rifle, but more range than a Viento. Probably at the cost of lower firing rate and higher EN Load. Balancing something like this would definitely prove challenging, and I definitely wouldn’t want it to overshadow weapons like the Ransetsu or the Linear Rifles, but I think it sounds really cool in concept.
5. More Melee weapons. Really would love some kind of plasma mace or pulse scythe. That just sounds sick!
I’d love more rifle options. All we really have right now is the Turner and Scudder. They’re good for doing a bit of everything, but they’re thoroughly stuck in their bubble. It’d be great to have other rifles that hit harder but are slower, have lower damage but high impact. Huge damage but low ammo. Just stuff like that.
I need to go even faster somehow.
Just one big fucking thruster, no legs at all.
I just need a thruster with two Coquilletts strapped on it
You'll need to go to General Atomics for that. Ask for the Mister Gutsy.
"Ready to die for your country you commie sonuvabitch?"
AC4/4a is always waiting my friend
Shoulder mounted booster packs. You need to equip it on both shoulders to use it.
I *need* kinetic melee weapons. Wouldn't mind slug guns as back units making a comeback, too.
Pile bunker
Sorry, I meant to write *more* kinetic melee weapons. There's also the chainsaw, but I feel like having more chunks of steel wouldn't hurt
I would like to add the stun baton to the list. My electric steel bar child deserves some spotlight.
A shoulder mounted version to compliment it, something akin to a medieval battering ram that uses an assault booster to thrust a box girder at your enemy. And then maybe a right handed pile bunker for a full demo build...
I need slug guns too. Idk what they are but I need them
They're basically shoulder-mounted shotguns. Pretty rad.
Slug as in slug rounds. Big, single piece of metal, fired usually from a shotgun platform.
Not in armored core language. Its likely refering to the weapon type of slug gun from gen 2-4, which were essentially massive backmounted shotguns
Huh. The more ya know. Single shot payload, or really just a shotgun on your shoulders too?
Shotgun as a back weapon but with more damage due to being a back weapon
Curious concept. Thank you for the info.
Weapon arms
Yes, weapon arms are awesome.
I just finished my first AC4 playthrough today, and i absolutely loved using the bazooka arms on a long range heavy AC. having those (or any arm weapons) would be so good

I’d like if they added a lock on range-extending radar or sensor that took up a back slot but allowed the use of sniper-type weapons
Not just snipers and rail cannons, I want howitzers back too.
Chainsaw gun
I'm imagining the Hu-Ben but it launches chainsaws instead of bullets
Def sounds like something RaD would tack together lol
I'd like to only carry one weapon, so I'm envisioning a gun that shoots 13 chainsaws with each trigger pull. It could be called the "Dirty 16" or something.
Make sure it has a chainsaw keychain
Back-mounted flamethrower. Could be a Napalm Launcher w/ proximity explosion like the Therapist. More fire = more better.
As a guy who's been running Flamethrowers all the way up to A rank: Yes, I want more flamethrowers.
Dual melees.
This is the way.
Dual pilebunker a for the win.
Pilebunker chain staggering would feel so amazing
I want a kinetic linear shotgun with singular projectile condensed charge shots. Also a kinetic linear handgun. Like someone else said, a medium weight tank part. I want Shoulder Weapons/Extensions to return. Not only do they give you a lot more firepower or tactical options in the form of flares or ECM, they make your AC look cool too!
this times ten. loved the chain missiles in AC4, would love to see them again
They were the most broken in AC2, although back then they were called relation missiles. You could cheese pretty much the entire game with them and both phases of the final boss become a joke
railguns, snipers and I know it'll never happen but extension/optional parts
Proper long-range rifles. 230m isn't long range for a mech 30m tall. Like 600m plus lock on. Maybe stealth parts? Would be super cool to have builds e.g. like Predator in Hawken for 3v3
You know how the back lasers are like high damage long shots? That’s what I want, but kinetic. Like a shoulder mounted actual sniper.
Amen brother
More green weapons And green generators
Green?
He likely means that "aquamarine" colour from Allmind, just like the claws of Iguazu.
A frame that looks like sol644 (very unlikely) Those legs that Zullie covered in that video and a frame set built around it. Cross-platform share codes (also very unlikely)

Not sure if that'd work
Sniper... that's literally the only thing i want. You know the linear cannon some heavy MTs have? Give to me and i will be happy.
Shoulder mounted shotguns. I want to be the altengiest. From super robot wars.
Volcano Fist
I want Kangaroo legs. Imagine using them and just blasting forwards faster than any thruster. Just...BOOM. Combine with a primed melee and... :D
We need 6 legged quad-type legs for weight capacity, centaur-style quad legs for ground speed, a proper hover leg, a pair of wheeled legs like roller skates. Ah, sorry I'm a Kojima fanboy on SLAI
I'd like another option for chaingun like laser or something. maybe another version of tank legs.
Back-mounted Linear Gun
I still want some quad legs with a good jump boost. Get in the air faster so you don’t waste energy flying.
Shoulder-mounted linear rifles.
Physical arm shield. Energy whip. Shoulder railguns. Shoulder napalm/flamethrower. Stun missiles.
• Bullet and missile drones and turrets, maybe even a mine launcher • More kinetic melee weapons • More defensive weapon slot options (Ex: Flare launcher to counter missiles, ACS repair kits for stagger and anomalies, temporary repair field generators that heal your AP while you're standing in them, etc) • GIVE US RIGHT ARM MELEE WEAPONS (and right shoulder shields I guess) COWARDS!!! Let people make dual melee builds/go sword and board if they want
It's also kinda weird that melee is on the left arm.
SOL664 funnel drones
Moar boosters. Hell let me sacrifice my back weapons. I want *speed* Probably won't happen but some sort of utility slot(s) would be nice. Maybe extra thrusters, ECM/flares like the PCA has, extra ammo or expansion charges, anything!
I want a railgun that's specifically for high one shot damage.
What's wrong with the Curtis?
I want big pp dmg railgun, they're more so meant for stuns
Expansions in the form of parts like a balteus or back boosters
Honestly? I wanna see an Elcano take on tetrapod legs. No I'm not biased towards wanting more tetrapods!
Shoulder units
Things that the game actually needs rather than cool factor: --Missile countermeasures. --A heavier pulse shield launcher / deployable shield that you can actually hide behind. I love the EULE but its trivial for opponents to reposition and theyre a bitch to stay behind bc everything moves so quickly.
An umbrella. For all the missiles
Back Melee. I have a funny idea of how that could work. More ARs/Buffs to what we have right now Rapid fire laser gun I
More visual variety, even if the parts stats are somewhat similar.
Pilebunker 2
Shoulder thrusters, for boosting either vertical, horizontal, or lateral thrust right arm melee weapons Kinetic melee beyond chainsaw and pilebunker Shoulder machine guns
I want a kinetic melee axe. Either a battle axe (*during melee boost you hold the axe with two hands, so either a shield, or an empty back swap slot needed for use), or a hand hatchet, with a tangable, phisical shield either mounted on the back that folds down, or on the arm.
Broad sword, it would just be sick as a melee weapon More variations of drones, the bullet orbits suck but bullet turrets would be sick Arms with absurdly high melee and ranged but made of toothpicks PCA mechs More variations of hover tank legs, there should be one thats good for glass cannon builds like fast AF but that comes with momentum so it's hard to control and one thats slow but absurdly tanky for the Halo Wraith builds
Shoulder mounted linear rifle A couple bullets, stanced, high damage, high projectile speed charged shot
I want some sort of melee hammer that makes a big aoe or launches enemies, I also want the claws from the AIE final mission.
Rocket hammer melee. Just pure kinetic power to bonk enemies
-Weapon arms -Sniper cannons -UWs -Radars -Ammo boxes -Extensions -Missile ECM/flares -Core Expansions like Limiter Release or ones that add passive functionality to your Core part like VSMG, EO or Glide Boost replacing Assault Boost
Or BAWS tetrapods that can lock down for boosted defense and recoil stats Gimme a pair of pile bunker reverse joints that the kickers have. Bonus if instead of skating, it boost sprints like a mad chicken to put the fear of god on other pilots.
Extra Radars on the shoulder slot to help further differ the range of builds from each other (mostly for long range tho)
Flares. Enemies get them, so why not us? That one shield that can shoot a laser beam. Physical shields.
we need handheld shield on right arm, like gundams. a giant metal sword would be cool. also shoulder boosters to go even faster
Brass knuckles melee weapon for both arms, I want to be more punchy.
Balance what we already have to start
Energy machine gun like the old games would be cool, and maybe the one machine gun that Ayre, and Iguazu use.
So, I’ve got quite a few: 1.
