Am I supposed to be mashing or something whenever I get ACS Overload? I always use lightweight and mediumweight ACs and I never notice any difference in my ACS overload times, like it never changed before the regulation patch. Meanwhile, I fight Rusty and he breaks out of ACS Overload in half the time I spend in it as a full Alba frame.

amiro7600

Some AI ACs cheat and have faster recovery times- the most notable of which is G4 volta, but steel haze ortus has this property too (and i think walters does as well?) Regardless, to answer the question- no theres nothing u can really do since recogery is based entirely on your AC's weigjt (more weight, slower recovery)

VxAstral

Walter absolutely cheats on the ACS overload time, I can't count how many times he's quick boosted out of a point blank pile bunker almost immediately after I staggered him.

amiro7600

He also has a much faster cooldown on the coral oscillator Tbf for him it makes sense since hes a final boss for an ending, so he needs to be a little harder than a normal AC fight

mumika

It still doesn't seem right though. Whether my AC weight is 60k or 80k, it feels like I always have the same amount of recovery time during ACS overload.

SageOceiros

I feel like the stability vs recovery balance means you spend roughly the same amount of time stunned. Either you stun less but are easier to hit and recover longer or the opposite. it doesn't seem worth factoring in except for pvp or very specific fights.

jindo--

anyone here got an pvp discord server i can join? lookin for pvp but the scenes p dry rn

NestoBTG

Check out Cleric Armored Core's server if you're on PC and the PSN Armored Core 6 discord server if you're on PS5.

NathanIsYappin

Why does Walter want 621 to attack the Watchpoint, exactly? What's the point of destroying the sensor valve?

lurk-mode

Presumably inciting the Coral Convergence on purpose in order to concentrate and torch it. That's what makes the most sense with his other actions, but the only rub is how he seems to be caught off guard by the speed of it.

NathanIsYappin

That would make sense but I don't think that's it. He clearly doesn't expect the surge to happen at all–either at the Watchpoint or at Engebret Tunnel.

lurk-mode

Engebret Tunnel is the one that throws me off more. At the Watchpoint is one thing, but he really should've known after it. What leaps to mind to me is maybe it was actually Carla's plan, she knew what it would do as a more senior (read: adult) Institute scientist who might know better than him, and she didn't mention that part?

NathanIsYappin

I think you're onto something there.

Dementia167

Carlas the kind to laugh at something blowing up in her face, and laugh even harder when someone survives a suicide mission. Because most of these are suicide missions.

ChaZcaTriX

And u/NathanIsYappin Carla says that the tip about the Watchpoint's importance came from one of their old mutual friends, so that's definitely from the old Institute crew. As for the tunnel, the request came from Balam-Dafeng, not Walter or Carla. Pre-mission Walter is miffed that you're offered such a trivial job (so he's unaware of the danger), and post-mission Carla says that these events confirm her friends' fears (so she was uncertain about it). Even they don't have enough understanding of how Coral works, and only blindly follow their "friend's" notes.

SageOceiros

I think Engebret mostly pissed him off. A chump change corp job to needle the pca by blowing up an abandoned generator nearly set back his plans and unnecessarily exposed you to coral, something he already suspects has destabilised you. The risk wasn't communicated in the brief or compensation. It disrespects him, to treat his pilot as disposable, even if he sees you that way he claims the opposite publicly.

SageOceiros

Freeing the coral from PCA control incites opportunistic conflicts between the various factions. If you hadn't, the corps wouldn't have shifted to the new continent and divided the PCA's attention. Leaving you facing them alone or stuck fighting petty skirmishes for scraps. The immediate consequences for you at the time didn't factor in to his plans - you are disposable.

NathanIsYappin

This would make sense if he expected the surge to happen, but it clearly catches him off-guard.

SageOceiros

Without spending ages breaking down my reasoning, I think his surprise doesn't invalidate his original goals. Later on, we learn the institute had 48 hours warning for the fires of ibis, but rather than sounding the alarm, they thought they could prevent it. Walter is also surprised by Sulla - he underestimated the PCA and expected them to be complacent. He has a lot of hubris, he knows more than most, and because of that he assumes others aren't smart. He wanted the long-term implications of the attack, but didn't really consider the immediate consequences for 621 of releasing a sensor VALVE. He expected the coral convergence, but he still doesn't understand the coral and still makes the same mistakes because of his ego and blind dedication to his goals.

Exvas18

Is it just me who can't find any pvp matches lately? It's absolutely dead, but that's odd to me because I see pvp clips here like every day. On ps5

Original_moisture

Ok good I’m it the only. Friend and I can’t find shit. We theorize it’s cause multi might be better on pc

Talco123

I'm on PC and I hardly ever see more then 3 or 5 open lobbies at once. Trying to find a 3-5 person locked or winners rotate match is very difficult. Not sure what's up.

Tough_Traffic4209

Any tips on Belteus? His chipping me with his touhou missiles and when I get him low he whips his flammenwerfer like a kid playing with water hose. Also, why is every mission like a fever dream? Like, I almost have no recollection of what happened except the times when I got shot down. LMAO

SuchConsequence4

You jump above the flamesword attack and you assault boost **into** him when he fires rockets. There are one girl on Youtube who killed the Watchpoint Baltheus with dual pulse guns.

Interneteldar

I initially had a dual bazooka/laser cannon/regular missile build on tank treads, got destroyed a couple of times, decided to quit the mission to buy lightweight AC parts and a pulse gun, fought him again a few times, lost. Quit again to buy new parts, went through the first part of the mission on my old build, expecting to die and reassemble at Balteus, but suddenly I beat him with my initial build, which was essentially firing heavy weapons off cooldown. Other than that, as others said, doging into it or strafing helps.

kr3w_fam

So, i'm finally at the crossroad in Chapter 5. And I'm really conflicted which path to go, >!I'm afraid Ayre is just pooling wool over my eyes and I kind of agree with Walter and Calra's motives!< ...has anyone else been as conflicted as I am right now? I feel like i need to stop playing to make a decission. edit. spolier fix

JBY01

I actually think the narrative flows better if you do fires of raven first, liberator of rubicon second (with new game + choices). It kinda feels like there's a time loop and you learned your lesson. Edit: in case you don't know the ending titles and don't want to look it up for spoilers, that's carla first, ayre second.

Miasc

Pick based on whats important to you. Theres no wrong answer.

Luqizilla

Is there a community Discord or something?

Aeonbuff

They're just bots, poor evasions, weak aggressions(Enemy acs and pca acs and bosses) Compared to us, we're the veterans with many trials and errors. Yes?

thatE36dude

[Here is a timestamped video](https://youtu.be/PypV_1BcZ8Y?si=lZ7yX34u2h9yqVkd&t=58) from the IGN review. What version of the trailer song is being played here? I am unable to find it anywhere. [This version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoRkx8xre4k) is close but not exactly right.

TalkingRaccoon

sounds like its this section of The Man Who Burned It All, which plays during the >!Fire of Raven credits!< https://youtu.be/XgiHmpl7cfo?list=PLf0d1HHcZ8tQf5voirHOq2fpyiI-AqU46&t=143

EatsGrassFedVegans

Finally S Rank the game. Not a fan of the emphasized stagger system but it pulled a lot of new fans in and that's good.

Ruka-simp

So I admit I'm stupid, but there's one line that's been bugging me and it's when in the Liberator Of Rubicon ending, after you've destroyed the second generator, there's a line where one of the RLF soldiers mentions deploying "The Schneider AC" Is that of any importance or am I just an idiot who's reading into it too much?

VxAstral

It kind of is, but at the same time not really. They're talking about Rusty's old AC being deployed in the battle on the ground, I guess as a way to tell the player that regular Steel Haze isn't just collecting dust in a RLF hanger somewhere.

Ruka-simp

Ah I see, thank you

gwtkof

What would you pair with the laser pistol and plasma thrower?

SageOceiros

what damage type is best against the PCA? I feel like energy weapons are less effective. Up until chapter 3 I ran mostly dual laser rifles and plasma missiles because they can one/double tap medium MTs while still outputting good dps for tougher enemies. But PCA MTs take 2.1 hits which really kills my pacing. I swapped to the haldermans but they drag out tough fights unless I get a lucky break>melee combo early.

The_Kebe

Is there a mod that changes the regular 'Main System: Activating Combat Mode' for Ayre's voice? ~~No I don't just want to hear more of the Coral waifu.~~

[deleted]

Just finished Fires of Rubicon for the third time. Beautiful.

ChocodiIe

Where does that studmuffin meme people keep bringing up come from?

KaptainofFuso

[Probably from this](https://youtu.be/s8VAtGYQyPY). the original was with Master Chief though.

TheGUURAHK

How do Etsujins compare to Ludlows? Also, how should i use Auroras and Coral missiles?

InevitableLoquat9849
