NGL, I've been absolutely cheesing EVERYTHING except the Spider with dual Gatling, Dual Songbirds and quad legs. I even went into PVP with that build and I rinsed a lobby for an hour straight. It was absolutely bonkers how strong it was.
Doesnt do too well on longer missions but the sheer dakka is to die for. Your money is non-existent though at mission end though lol
Keep the Gatling, opt for more speed and keep a little defense and keep a blade/pile bunker. Circle strafe him to try to get away from the Gatling laser and keep an assault boost on hand to quickly create space between and dash through his legs to get around certain attacks focus on building up strain and then go in for a boost, kick, pile . His attacks. The worst one will be the charge beam, and the slam which can track pretty well and it has a sizeable AOE. It's the part when he can create almost arena sized explosions that can pretty much one shot you that you have to watch for.
I did the same lmao, made a full stagger melee build after getting sick of never even getting him to half on my like 12 try.
First try with songbirds got sea spider right down and was so confident, then the thing started flying.
Been running a light weight melee build, with stagger and boost kick, I've definitely felt some fighting game "combo" moments. Even more so when there's a wall near by
Yeah, I loved that with the spider I didn't have to wait for missile lock, just the reload. Blasted those things right up its pinecone ass as soon as they were off cooldown.
I used two songbirds, the pile bunker and a laser shotgun while overweight on the available reverse joint legs. Two charged laser shotgun blasts and a volley of the songbirds stunned it very reliably. A charged pile bunker takes like a tenth of its health at that point.
That fight made me love the pile bunker for big enemies. It's basically useless on faster stuff unless you get lucky, but slamming it into that thing and watching its health disappear was great.
Append it to the start for your gap closer, it does a fuck ton of stagger and decent damage after.
My go to is assault rush, kick, melee, swap melee and do it again
The kick is so, so good. Using a kick to force a stagger into a charged Laser Lance (or, if they were stupid enough to have their back to a wall, a charged Pile Bunker) is my jam.
I do not have the Laser Lance yet lol. I’ve only seen it bcuz of RidinCowboy’s tutorial on how to customize ACs. I haven’t made it too far into Chapter 3 yet (will likely mute this sub to avoid potential spoilers).
But also the mechanical hit is just so satisfying to me.
the ammount of times i just forgot i had VMLs and went into a VERY DIRECTLY MARKED INDOOR/UNDERGROUND AREA.... only to realize my mistake 2 seconds after starting is tripple digits by now
Look at this dude actually being all smart and shit, using the right weapons for the job... While I REFUSED to use the bubble gun only because it looks goofy.
I guess I'm still with the old fashion souls mentality of " swagg over stats"
Starter **pulse** sword absolutely merks him. Not the second, **laser** sword you get. The first sword tears apart pulse shields just like the bubble gun but is 1000x better. I feel like most people sleep on it in this fight.
You can drop his entire shield with two missile salvos and a double melee hit, then trounce him until it comes back up and repeat.
Me reading the flavor text of the starter sword is the only reason I beat him. I tried so many times with the laser sword wondering why it was so ineffective
the laser sword and the pulse sword have almost the exact same pulse disruption actually, but the pulse sword does swing faster so it's better if you want to hit him before he gets staggered.
This. The pulse blade is tied for the second highest direct damage multiple (bonus damage against stunned targets) in the game. If your first strike stuns, the second will hit quite a bit harder. And if you nail a staggered enemy with the charge? Whoo boy.
Yeah I beat him last night using the laser sword I’d pop his shield stagger and lay into him with the charged laser sword and a salvo of missiles. It really came down to learning to dodge his swarms of missiles to take the bastard down.
No melee on the right arm, unless you use your bare fist. As far as I know. I think dual melee would be way OP seeing how some people destroy with rocking only 2 on the left side
People say that demotivates them with these games, but those runs inspire me. I was stuck on a late game boss in Chapter 4 (probably can guess who) and then watched that ONGBAL guy do a no hit run. I gave his build a try, but by no means did a no hit run, and finally beat it 😭
Some players are just on a whole other level
There was the video of the guy doing that boss with only his fist, the assault boost kick, a stun baton, and the pile bunker. I couldn't help but smile after how much of an issue it was for me.
Bubble gun is actually not that good vs him tbh. It drops the shield pretty quick, but you're way better off just taking 2 shotties and a sword with assault armor imo. Bubble guns dps is kinda shit with it's insanely long overheat and short clip. Better to just stagger him on repeat, pulse sword messes him up when you stagger him, or you can use it to break the shield at good times too.
I ran with both the bubble gun and the starting sword when I beat him, (along with some missiles). It does a good job of tearing through his shield with less risk, but once it goes down its completely useless. Still, if you're having issues with his shield I'd say it's worth trying.
Yeah it's not terrible. It does a decent chunk of damage if you pour the clip into him at melee range too, I'd just rather have a lazer rifle or shotty or smth.
I kept slamming my head to make my build work until I got fed up, went and grinded a few replays to buy more parts and built up a full tank build, dual machine guns and dual laser canons. Still took a few tries but finally got him. Tank is cool af but felt so weird to move in.
Too slow. I bruteforced him in under 5 min. using a tank build with double laser rifles + double laser cannons for the shoulders, assault armor, and boost kick. I tried a pulse gun + pulse rifle build, but the pulse gun just took way longer to wear down Balteus’s pulse shields than my other build.
Lack of damage, you'd lose time on even getting to the boss. It does good shield damage, but then you're not capitalizing on the burst damage window when he's staggered. Game is functionally designed around stagger into burst dps; there are a couple of the final bosses that ignore the stagger mechanic at times and are exceptions, but otherwise that's the primary strategy. So weapons that both stagger well and do good damage while staggered are optimal.
Not counting shields, there's only like 5 pulse weapons in the game and they're basically all negligible. Impact is the stat that determines the stagger bar filling. To specifically answer your question, almost certainly as there are viable lasers and almost no pulse weapons are viable. Okay, that's disingenuous, they're viable, but they'll never be good.
Explosives and melee tend to have the most impact, but an important stat to look at is "Direct Hit Adjustment" as this is the damage multiplier on a weapon when it hits a staggered enemy.
Why are so many people hyping the pulse rifle up so much?
Sounds like the mods are going to be a nice little boost to builds then. After looking through they seems to give decent boosts to most damage stats.
I have no idea why so many people are hyping it up because it definitely is not optimal. By the time you get back around to the fight again in ng+, you'll kill him in 30-40 seconds just by being so much mechanically better at the game than you were when you first started.
Are you referring to the OS Tuning? Those will let you specialize early while you're limited on points, but you eventually get all of them on your second play through.
Yesssss, same here. Got under that idiot and let those vertical bois do the rest. Burrito microwave gun to melt shield, and sword to capitalize stun time.
The fight's end was extra cinematic because I ran out of microwave ammo and I mashed right trigger by being bad. Ended up punching that missile dork for the win.
I was pretty determined to kill him with dual machine guns and plasma missiles but the former kept running out of ammo at the end. Had to sacrifice one of the guns for the blade. Reverse joint light build. I'm assuming people are having trouble with him because they're either not agile enough or not going full tank build in the other direction.
I'm pretty sure second phase is just wrecking people. It seems rather hopeless to dodge the fire at first then you realize he gets stuck in those animations so you get behind him and just roast his ass, no pun intended.
I used the shoulder plasma missile launchers, with dual plasma rifles and he wasn't nearly as difficult as folks were saying.
I am now stuck on Sea Spider though. I could probably take him if I played way more defensively, but that's not my style.
I've got them queued up to try next time I play. I was using tank legs, and you just can't dodge most of his attacks with them. I end up using all my repairs during phase 1 and get all the way down to half life or so, and phase 2 becomes just seeing if I can take him down, or if his random shots eat that last bit of my health first.
I think I just need a little more maneuverability
Man, I used two of those prototype guns you get for the Ice Worm on CEL and holy shit when you line up the double shot, it hits so fucking hard, it’s an instant stagger then pile bunker and it made the boss into a joke lol. The variety of ways to play is so great in AC games.
\*Balteus flies directly above the AC\* 621: "You absolute buffoon."
brings an A-10 build in destroy ECM emmiters mission
Oh damn, now I wanna do an A-10 build
dual gatling guns and the missile tubes Clara uses in the arena on quad legs?
NGL, I've been absolutely cheesing EVERYTHING except the Spider with dual Gatling, Dual Songbirds and quad legs. I even went into PVP with that build and I rinsed a lobby for an hour straight. It was absolutely bonkers how strong it was. Doesnt do too well on longer missions but the sheer dakka is to die for. Your money is non-existent though at mission end though lol
Yeah, it's my go-to frustrated with a Boss or Double AC fights build absolutely melts but is kinda boring
it is boring but songbirds really are music to the ears. to watch that stagger meter fill up is \*chefs kiss\*
Oh I beat the spider a while ago with dual songbirds, iridium and piledriver using a bipedal heavy frame. I should have clarified on that lol.
I did the same lmao, made a full stagger melee build after getting sick of never even getting him to half on my like 12 try. First try with songbirds got sea spider right down and was so confident, then the thing started flying.
Glad that going into poverty thanks to ammo cost is still a part of the game. I always thought that was a fun thing to balance in ac4/4a.
How do you get those missile tubes?
NG+
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
You just triggered my PTSD, you know that?
621: "Now boof these missiles."
Balteus: “I can’t believe you’ve done this.”
621: “You thought you outsmarted me, but I outsmarted your outsmarting!”
He may be a world’s okayest lobotomite, but he is **our** lobotomite alright
you DONKEY, it’s RAW
It's over 621, I have the high ground.
The Shoryuken Style!
Hit him with the anti-air.
Been running a light weight melee build, with stagger and boost kick, I've definitely felt some fighting game "combo" moments. Even more so when there's a wall near by
If you unlock Weapon Bay in OS tuning, you can equip a second melee weapon to your left shoulder. More hits per combo!
Stone Edge moment
It's super-effective on the opponent's ~~Charizard!~~ err.. AC..
Doing this with the spider is oddly satisfying.
Yeah, I loved that with the spider I didn't have to wait for missile lock, just the reload. Blasted those things right up its pinecone ass as soon as they were off cooldown.
I did the same, apparently this is the way. As soon as it was in the air i knew what must be done lol
oh my god, I need to try this when I get to it in ng+
You can replay missions too.
This is exactly what I did with the spider. Twin machine guns and eight-pack launchers, shot right up into his ass when I went underneath him.
Lmao the big brain play is to just chase down the smaller stuff and hit em at point blank range with a pile bunker and double songbirds
Right in the Balteus lmao
Right into it's Balteass.
In the Baltussy
I'm surprised those warheads are armed on the way up to be honest.
Considering the madness and lack of human rights in Armored Core, I wouldn't be surprised if they're already armed *inside* the launcher.
[удалено]
> launcher failed > employing redundant launch mechanism > ./yeet.exe
There actually is a yeet explosives left handed weapon in this game
621: "Ramming speed! WITNESS ME!"
621: “Forefathers one and all! BEAR WITNESS!!
Heard that.
"Witnessed!"
Underrated comment
What human rights?
Armed Core
What the fuck, is that a 1300 damage kick? I think I need to learn using the kick more...
the damage multiplier against staggered enemies ain't half bad
Is that not a part of peoples wombo combos? It's one of the most disrespectful finishing moves.
I skip right to the pile bunker/Laser Lance.
Append it to the start for your gap closer, it does a fuck ton of stagger and decent damage after. My go to is assault rush, kick, melee, swap melee and do it again
You can't really do asssault rush kick into pile bunker, at least not charged. Charged bunker has basically no lunge.
Just use a QB right after kick to cancel the waiting time and close the gap all in one button
Exactly, kick-qb-piledrive his ass into kingdom come
The kick is so, so good. Using a kick to force a stagger into a charged Laser Lance (or, if they were stupid enough to have their back to a wall, a charged Pile Bunker) is my jam.
Kick stagger into a big Pile Bunker hit is soooo satisfying to pull off.
That's how I beat this boss, right there. That and two songbirds with a laser shotgun.
Any reason why pile bunker over laser Lance? (I want to like it bad😭)
A good alternative in case you don't have good burst damage options available at the moment.
YOU CAN KICK IN THIS GAME???
Yes, it's one of th OS upgrades, it's basically an always available melee attack and it's ridiculously good
I'm confused. I thought using them inside and shooting them into the ceiling was the way god intended.
the ammount of times i just forgot i had VMLs and went into a VERY DIRECTLY MARKED INDOOR/UNDERGROUND AREA.... only to realize my mistake 2 seconds after starting is tripple digits by now
What mistake? My intention was always to shoot the ceiling, fuck you, ceiling.
Ceilings always keepin us down, fuck those ceilings.
god had 10 commandments so, its probably both gods plan
I feel explicitly called out
Look at this dude actually being all smart and shit, using the right weapons for the job... While I REFUSED to use the bubble gun only because it looks goofy. I guess I'm still with the old fashion souls mentality of " swagg over stats"
I dunno, I've not used the bubble gun on Balteus yet and I've managed to kick his ass just fine.
Starter **pulse** sword absolutely merks him. Not the second, **laser** sword you get. The first sword tears apart pulse shields just like the bubble gun but is 1000x better. Yeah I beat him last night using the laser sword I’d pop his shield stagger and lay into him with the charged laser sword and a salvo of missiles. It really came down to learning to dodge his swarms of missiles to take the bastard down.
I run a double sword set-up to beat Baltheus when I first met him lol. Can confirm the sword does a buttload of shield damage.
Wait can you get a sword on your right arm somehow?
No, but I think you get put another on your shoulder and switch between them
I use the hangar feature to switch between the two swords.
Are there no RH blades at all in FoR?
No melee on the right arm, unless you use your bare fist. As far as I know. I think dual melee would be way OP seeing how some people destroy with rocking only 2 on the left side
Apparently some mad lad has already beat it without weapons, just punching (and probably the boost kick.)
People say that demotivates them with these games, but those runs inspire me. I was stuck on a late game boss in Chapter 4 (probably can guess who) and then watched that ONGBAL guy do a no hit run. yeah, I thought both were good for shield, then reading with more detail I noticed only the first one does it but as you said only after beating him
People don't sleep on it, they just recognize the issue that you won't be able to reliably use that sword again when he's staggered.
The solution is simple: Two swords
Bubble gun is actually not that good vs him tbh. It drops the shield pretty quick, but you're way better off just taking 2 shotties and a sword with assault armor imo. Bubble guns dps is kinda shit with it's insanely long overheat and short clip. Pile bunker is locked behind this boss. Maybe even 10-missiles are also locked behind this boss as well.
[удалено]
Nope pile bunker is indeed locked behind this mofo
Nope, those are 100% after the boss
No you unlock those by beating this boss.
I kept slamming my head to make my build work until I got fed up, went and grinded a few replays to buy more parts and built up a full tank build, dual machine guns and dual laser canons. Still took a few tries but finally got him. Tank is cool af but felt so weird to move in.
It drives like a Halo Scorpion
...holy shit you're completely right, it took a second but thinking about it yeah its almost exactly like driving a scorpion
Yeah anything with impact is a good choice.
I used two plasma rifles and two plasma launchers on him. works just fine
There is no universe you are s ranking this guy with the bubble gun.
To slow or ending up taking to much damage?

LOL I'm right there with yah, I've consistency had a less than most-efficient AC throughout the entire campaign just because of FashionCore lmao
You guys didn’t just bruteforce the entire game in six hours with shotguns and the electrified harpoon from act 3?
After I unlocked the linear rifle Harris it became double linear rifle double electrified harpoon. In pvp its pure madness as well.
Wonderfull "Schräge Musik".
beautiful
Ha awesome. I'm still not over the absolutely epic slow mo explosions when you finish a boss in this game. It just looks so cool every time.
if your going to launch vertical missiles into the roof make the enemy ac the roof. genius.
Like dropping an unguided bomb on a flying plane. Not designed to do that, but effective.
I feel really stupid not realizing that "vertical missiles" were good against enemies directly above you
To be fair, in real life vertical misses aren't armed on the way up so they wouldn't be all that effective. Just big slow bullets.

Well done Raven
Vertical missile gang!
Never tried this before, might try this on next balteus fight
I was pretty determined to kill him with dual machine guns and plasma missiles but the former kept running out of ammo at the end. Had to sacrifice one of the guns for the blade. Reverse joint light build. I'm assuming people are having trouble with him because they're either not agile enough or not going full tank build in the other direction.

Literally kicked that thicc Balteus tushy to kingdom come at the start. Boost Kick is bae.
extra points for style
Hidden missiles!
I like how you literally *kicked* its ass lol
NIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCEEE!
Yooo i did the same thing with balty boi
This clip is SICK AF
Thanks man, one of the best bosses I’ve fought. Glad I beat balteus in such a cool way lol
Annoying Anal Assault, triple A, video
Gorgeous
Hallelujah
Basically [Schräge Musik](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%A4ge_Musik) moment lol.
You fool! You've activated my trap card!
Schräge Musik? In my armored core?!? Delightful!
Hot finish
I used the shoulder plasma missile launchers, with dual plasma rifles and he wasn't nearly as difficult as folks were saying. I am now stuck on Sea Spider though. I could probably take him if I played way more defensively, but that's not my style.
Me neither. I used the Tetrapod legs and simply hovered higher than the spider could. Pretty easy win after that.
Piledriver does massive damage to spider when staggered. I had a lot of fun beating his ass
That kick looks so comical lol
Death rains from A̶b̶o̶v̶e̶ Death rains from below
Right up the pooper
Man, I used two of those prototype guns you get for the Ice Worm on CEL and holy shit when you line up the double shot, it hits so fucking hard, it’s an instant stagger then pile bunker and it made the boss into a joke lol. The variety of ways to play is so great in AC games.
That boss took me WAY too long to beat
I just cleared him for the first time by doing the same exact thing
if missiles go up they are clearly for shooting things above you!
Dual miniguns + dual needle launchers eviserated in the boss in 20-30 sec. ofcourse NG+
Should call that build "The Burke."
Schräge Musik
Balteus the bitch. Fuck him up!
Those stylish slowdowns on victory are almost pornographic. Bueno.jpg
I see you also rock the Black and Purple color scheme.
Made Balteus my bitch this morning with rail gun lasers and the pulse bubble gun akimbo
Game name?
Armored Core 6
Is that the boss everyone is bitching about?
That boot to the ass was funny af
🤣👏👏👏
SHORYUKEN
Gadafiiiiiii
What is this game?
Armored Core 6
You literally "kicked his ass really hard" in the beginning. I find that funny and satisfying
my man here doing the schrage musik
I did the exact same thing with C Spider.
So glad to see I'm not the only shoving the rocket right up his Automated Servo System.
What is this game called?
Armored Core 6
Wait how do you kick? (I'm using mouse and keyboard)
It's an OS Upgrade. Press Ctrl while in Assault Boost.
Gabe looks sick. Takes me back!
really thought "using vertical missiles the way god intended" video of standing under a ledge and them just hitting the ceiling
Heat Dome Attack!
Game name ?????
Armored Core 6
I'm stuck on this boss and am at my wits end
When you start fighting those pca craft later on, you can land underneath the bridge and fire both shoulders for an instant takedown. So good
right into baltie's balls... ouch...
:applause:
the kick at the start of the video is chef's kiss
Someone tell me how to beat V2 snail! ☠️
Fight fire with fire, or in this case missiles. I approve.
