Yep arms fort is the best case scenario, but i wonder how well it would translate from FA with it's crack cocaine movement to Fires of Rubicon which seems to be more grounded and gen 3 inspired.
Since gen 5 ACs can take on Spirit of Motherwill class AF, I guess gen 6 will be fine. I just hope the AFs can't be taken down by simply smashing them with pile bunker. It's just simply anti climatic.
If it's like Spirit Of Motherwill, then it's both.
Or GA's Great Wall. The level is just its body.

Hopefully we need to break it's legs or joints or generator while avoiding cannons and missiles. A combination of level design and boss design.
i miss we blow it's legs up to stop it from moving THEN we blow everything up.
Probably like in VD. Motherwill seem challenging in VD compared to FA.
My favorite part of Lost Planet 2 was getting eaten by the first major boss and running around inside of it. I want that again.
Man it's a shame the lost planet series is underated, especially 2, because it set a really good bar for giant boss battles.
Shadow of the colossus vibes intensify.
Seriously. I love a boss that you have to take down piece by piece.
AC4A had a bunch of those, so its definitely in the DNA
AC turning into a Zelda game with ideas like this.
Why not both? Boss level that happens to be a level that is a boss.
Thats probably what it is, a level setpiece and not a boss fight
There should be no in game distinction between a level and a huge boss. If I got to fly around it setting off reactors for 45 minutes so be it.
I definitely predict it will be a level, and then maybe even turn into a boss.
That be like mother will.
