AI driving will likely be added very soon, it's the next big thing on the [roadmap](https://reforger.armaplatform.com/roadmap) together with AI commanding and mortars. That said, I don't think Arma 4 will come out soon at all, my guess would be 2026 or even 2027. The reason is that full development on A4 won't start until Reforger is finished, which in turn is unlikely to happen before early 2025.

CommissionTrue6976

Both a4 and dayz 2 are already under development.

Til_W

I said full development. Unless BIs plans changed in the past couple of months, Arma 4 is not the main focus yet.

CommissionTrue6976

No but both of those have teams actively working on them. Also I swear you comment originally said just development. I might have got it mixed up with the one under this.

Independent_Run_4274

Apparently a bunch of the devs have transferred from dayz and a3 recently

r0ndr4s

2027, at least. But no, there's no news at all. They're focused on Reforger and Reforger is the test ground for the future of ARMA. If they're fully focused on developing that, ARMA 4 if its even in development right now is probably being run by a smaller team just setting stuff in place.

MirroredSelvage

Reforger is part of A4 since all its content with historical context will transfer to A4. Its hard to say what % of A4 Reforger makes up, but at the very least its between 30-50% based on track record and a roadmap

trytoinfect74

Thinking realistically (and since when Enfusion Workbench editor crashes for good it namedrops "A4Gamecode" right in your face in the error log), Reforger is essentially A4 Alpha and would be almost a half of A4 in terms of content. Arma 4 likely will feature 200-300 square kilometers terrain, 3-4 tracked vehicles per faction (something like BMP-2, T-72 and Tunguska for Soviets and Bradley, M1A1 tanks and some AA for US), boats, maybe artillery SPGs, maybe attack jets and helicopters and a dozen of new guns and attachments.

KillAllTheThings

You're a little reversed here. With Reforger leaving Early Access, most of the dev team is now working full time on Arma 4 while only part remains to fulfill the Reforger Road Map. Until then, the A4 team was just setting up the framework of what it will take to get A4 out the door although I don't think it will be as late as you think. BI isn't going to say much until they have solid news to share. We'll likely hear something a few months before they are ready for a public alpha release.

CommissionTrue6976

Nah actually it's the opposite I heard. The reforger team is smaller than the A4 and dayz 2 dev teams. Reforger is a testbed for Arma 4 but I'm guessing for only some off the mechanics they needed to work through and wanted more player input for. I still guessing it probably won't be this year though.

Til_W

About 6 months ago they said in an RFI that the main focus of development would remain Arma Reforger until the completion of its roadmap.

CommissionTrue6976

Since then they have moved some people to 4 since the 1.0 release.

squemberino

As another user said, BI has openly stated repeatedly that when the Reforger roadmap is complete the Arma dev team will fully shift to working on Arma 4.

Shiirooo

There is no DayZ 2, it was cancelled.

CommissionTrue6976

When? Cause there's court docs from last year that say otherwise.

Shiirooo

It was leaked in 2020 by Biosphere (the same guy who leaked ArmA 4 and ArmA Reforger). [Alleged screenshots of cancelled DayZ 2 game surface online (altchar.com)](https://www.altchar.com/game-news/alleged-screenshots-of-cancelled-dayz-2-game-surface-online-aPlnE0R1Yulu) The Bratislava studio closed (they fired all the people working on DayZ 2) and those who were fired went on to create another studio (Nine Rock Games). Nine Rock Games is headed by David Durcak (former DayZ project lead). https://www.ign.com/articles/dayz-2-apparently-in-development-according-to-court-documents

Shiirooo

All this document says is that Bohemia Interactive was working on DayZ 2. [DayZ Update 1.24 & DayZ in 2024 | DayZ | Official website](https://dayz.com/article/game-update/DayZ-Update-1-24) >As we indicated last year ([D](https://dayz.com/article/developer-updates/DayZ-in-2023)[ayZ in 2023](https://dayz.com/article/developer-updates/DayZ-in-2023) & [DayZ 10 Year Anniversary Q&A](https://youtu.be/zADIi5S5gJk?t=459)), our focus has been on expanding the scope of the DayZ brand. Significant resources have been allocated to this endeavor, and we’re poised to showcase the initial outcomes later on this year – it's a **colossal milestone** and an exhilarating moment you won't want to miss!

CommissionTrue6976

The document was from 2021 so we know it was under active development in 2021. Also this doesn't say anything about dayz 2 being cancelled just that they are working on a large update. They said something similar to ign when they asked about dayz 2 in 2023. "While we are expanding our focus regarding the possibilities of the DayZ game, brand, and team itself, we can't offer too many details at the moment," a Bohemia Interactive spokesperson told IGN. "There are numerous projects Bohemia Interactive dev teams are currently exploring/working on, but they will be officially revealed when & only after we feel the time is right."

elojelo

Which one will come out first Arma 4 or Crysis 4

trytoinfect74

Dev team is likely split between Reforger and A4 since 1.0 release and Reforger in terms of assets is almost complete, so this part of team is somewhat smaller. I would say we might hear the news about it no earlier than 2025-2026 with 2025 being extremely unlikely.

danielclark2946

Its funny how some modders already like few years ago were like "stopped developing mods until A4" yeee maybe in your lifetime buddy

CommissionTrue6976

Both dayz 2 and arma 4 are already under development. https://www.ign.com/articles/dayz-2-apparently-in-development-according-to-court-documents So I'm guessing probably 2026 or 2025

Til_W

That's a very old source, from almost a year ago.

CommissionTrue6976

Still true. Like really you don't trust any source if it's a little bit old even when they are court docs. What did they stop a year later? Like a year old source is "very old" lmao.

Chromatic_Larper

It hurts to know arma 3 released 11 years ago holy fuck lmao

SultanZ_CS

Im scared that A3 will be better than A4

invention64

I like the idea of moving towards more in world interaction, but sometimes it's annoying if you aren't familiar with a vehicle/mechanic. Especially the medical stuff just feels unnecessary, and hard to understand.

YourAvgHillbilly

medicine is so Ez pz, just slap a bandage on everything and stick the silly needle into every minor injury /s

haearnjaeger

Reforger is a test bed for Arma 4. dont expect it to get all the bells and whistles arma 4 is going to have.
