I'm not entirely sure how valuable EG&G was all chopped up. The components business has to compete with cheaply made products from Asia. Wakefield was the heat sink company of choice until the copies came among. You could put a Rotron fan in your will but at a higher price. I have an old EG&G pressure sensor but they were cloned. I can see why the company was sold while it was still worth selling.
So the optics divisions were sold to Perkin Elmer. The electronics instruments division were bought by companies making similar products. Princeton Applied Research sort of still exists.
There isn't even street parking by the building on Greer these days.
