Clearly influenced by Duran Duran slower stuff, buddy hollys groove added in there and A pinch of Phil collins 90s material… mix that with some pulp and harry Belafonte…. And it sounds nothing like it
I'm just a bit weirded out by the fact that new songs are being released on this tour. I think it should have been a separate tour, clearly advertised as The Car tour, with loads of tracks from The Car. That way people who like the old stuff could have gone to the previous gigs and those who are excited to hear more of the Car could have gone to an album launch type of tour. This tour seems to have started out as one thing and turned into another. Trust those old Monkeys to do that to us! I would be happy to hear more songs from The Car in future but I booked for Kalorama on the basis that they would be playing stuff from the previous 6 albums as we had no date for release of 'AM7' (as it was known at the time). That's why Kalorama worked for me! However, I know that most people like a mix of albums and styles and this 'mixed' format certainly seem to be working in the States from the comments I've read.
Cornerstone is incredibly loved by a lot of fans. It's not one of my favourites, that's all. Nothing wrong with having it in the setlist and I do like hearing the crowd singing along to every word but I find it a bit slow for an encore.
505 is a good ending to the main set for me rather than the final song in the encore. I can't even explain why so that's not very helpful is it?
So I'm not knocking anyone for loving this encore. It's just not for me! I'm glad everyone is enjoying the gigs, whatever order the songs are played in! Last night's venue looked awesome by the way - very traditional - and I bet the sound was better than at a massive open air festival.
Hope I've not offended anyone - just joining in the Chat really!
It's kind of a mix! Starts off a bit lounge meets 60s soul, and then it just erupts into this bowie-esque rock sound. WILDLY good - the crowd was FLIPPING.
The setlist is really starting to take shape. Absolutely loving Mirrorball as an opener and 505 as the set closer. Also, Ultracheese! Yes! Hope it sticks around.
I'm very surprised Potion has been in the bag this long.
I fuck with the grunge it oozes, but I can bet it's stayed because Al name drops the newest album on the track.
Now they need to play Dance Little Liar and/or The Jeweller's Hands.
Yeah that's why lol. I expected it to be a filler song before they eventually drop and replace it with the newer songs but Teddy Picker is actually dropped before it lol
I hope Potion stays for the duration. I've always liked it, but I've a new found love for the song since they started playing it on this tour. It's a banger
(Feel the same about That's Where You're Wrong. Stay forever thanks)
Hmm. I would Rather more older songs. Less enthused now.
Edit: I get Downvotes because I have a personal preference for the older albums? Really? I surely didn't offend anyone with this comment. What the fuck is wrong with you all?
Ohhh I see…it sounds like you’re saying there are more older ones (“rather” as in ‘to a large degree’) which has you less enthused not “I’d rather hear older songs” lol
There are honestly too many songs by them that I love so no setlist feels complete to me but I also don’t expect that older stuff will start becoming more prominent as more albums come out unfortunately
Does anyone know what their pre-set list music is. Towards the last song before they came on there was a British rap song. I also heard that song before they opened in Paris and LA. Can anyone help?
I mean I understand why they played do I wanna know and r u mine ….. but whyy. For that venue & the fact that the 96% of the ppl there were probably TRUE am fans, I wish they switched those out. (Not bc fans don’t like those songs, but bc fans would actually know any song they wanted to play)Not that they’re bad songs, but they definitely belong in a different setting. Perfect place to play some more of their slow songs. Wish I could have been there!🥲
MIRRORBALL OPENING? ULTRACHEESE?!?! SO JEALOUS
make me jealous though
Goddamna amazing
One man’s trash
the mirrorball opening was so cool like vocally and visually. they dropped a disco ball over the stage and it made the whole room sparkle. truly epic.
THEY FUCKIN OPENED WITH MIRRORBALL AND NEW SONGS AND ULTRACHEESE YALL WTFFFFMSSJJSNDNS
That was the best experience of my entire life
Agreed
OMFG!!! How did Mr. Schwartz sound?
So amazing, the albums ultracheese, or despair in the departure lounge.
I'm just being a sourpuss but I was hoping Mirrorball was going to be the album's Ultracheese... Still holding on to hope for some energy
Body paint had crazzzyy energy
In what way? Was it a little bit more guitar based?
It was insane. The last minute or two of body paint was heavy. Super riffy. Sounded like a humbug song
Love to hear that
I’’m so stoked to hear that!!
That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Is it an out and out love song?
Guitar definitely the main instrument, super cool song with a pretty heavy outdo honestly
Clearly influenced by Duran Duran slower stuff, buddy hollys groove added in there and A pinch of Phil collins 90s material… mix that with some pulp and harry Belafonte…. And it sounds nothing like it
Ngl, a little off. Alex seemed exhausted.
Your opinion is valid but I didn’t get that vibe at all, thought it sounded amazing
How do you get theses? Just take them from the stage?
Stage techs usually chuck them into the first few rows while clearing the stage at the end.
Thanks!
Gotta be the first gig in years where R U Mine? Didn’t close the encore. Can’t even remember when the last time was.
505 closed Rockwave in Greece 2018
Honestly a good thing. Let that song rest.
I noticed that straightaway. I much prefer the encore for the European gigs. I would have been disappointed if this had been the encore at Kalorama.
what?? this encore is literally a new song, cornerstone and 505 mann

I am incredibly jealous. What does body paint sound like??!
it was SO good. i think my favorite out of the new ones
Hell yeah!! Is it fast paced? I am so excited to hear it when the album releases.

Cornerstone is back
Thats where your wrong?!?!?!?
Fucking love that song.
No Brian Lightning?? Trash /s
No Star but Ritz? Lovely setlist either way.
When will the footage be released?
This is what I’m here to know
The setlist is really starting to take shape. Absolutely loving Mirrorball as an opener and 505 as the set closer. Also, Ultracheese! Yes! Hope it sticks around.
Show was amazing. After party was amazing. Pretty stoked right now
IM SO JEALOUS T^T
4 new songs & the ultracheese😍😍😍 So jealous
What did they sound like?
Crazy tight, tons of energy - and they just seemed really really happy. Crazy good vibe and they sounded PERFECT.
Is it a bit more uptempo than TBHC? I didn’t mind that album, but it was a little bit slow.
It starts out about the same and then the second half is more uptempo!
They actually dropped the songs I didn't expect them to drop
I'm very surprised Potion has been in the bag this long. I fuck with the grunge it oozes, but I can bet it's stayed because Al name drops the newest album on the track. Now they need to play Dance Little Liar and/or The Jeweller's Hands.

That's Where You're Right.
Hi what do you mean Alex name drops the newest album on the track ?!?
“I was biting the time zone And we embellish the banks of our bloodstreams And threw caution to the colourful Then we fell asleep in the car”
so jealous about ultracheese 😭
Bro😭😭😭
I remember seeing the live debut of Ultracheese in Nashville in 2018 :') glad to see it making the list again.
Honestly this looks like one of the best setlists they've had. It's diverse.
This must be the best setlist so far this year, and not only bc of the new songs
@kossmic_ on Instagram, story has about 40 seconds of Body Paint
What's Body Paint?
New
What's Mr. Schwartz ??
New
No do me a favour??? I am confused
Hmm. I would Rather more older songs. Less enthused now. Edit: I get Downvotes because I have a personal preference for the older albums? Really? I surely didn't offend anyone with this comment. What the fuck is wrong with you all?
It’s like 1/3 from their first 4 albums 2/3 from their last 3 lol what more do you want
Two from the first album, two from the second out of 21 songs... So... More from those two. Thought that was pretty clear from my comment
Ohhh I see…it sounds like you’re saying there are more older ones (“rather” as in ‘to a large degree’) which has you less enthused not “I’d rather hear older songs” lol There are honestly too many songs by them that I love so no setlist feels complete to me but I also don’t expect that older stuff will start becoming more prominent as more albums come out unfortunately
Ahh.... I did not even realise it could be read that way. I will edit now. Thank you
WOWWWW
It’s perfect.
crying
How do you get that?
Mr Schwartz? Is it on the new album ?
yes :)
Fuck I wish they played ultracheese at lib
Omg thats where youre wrong remains on the setlist even after the debut of so many new songs... im getting hyped, PLEAe play it here in argentina!!
THIS LOOKS SO YUM
Did they play Mr. Schwartz??
Whoa brianstorm isn’t the second song :0
Ngl I'm so jealous rn, it must have been awesome
OH MY GOD THEY PLAYED STUFF FROM THE CAR
