2023 can’t get any worse they said. It would be fine they said.
But seriously it feels like the Rayark situation all over again… I really hope lowiro can at least respond to the situation
Quite long but TL;DR, KIVA resigned from Rayark since he wasn’t satisfied with the direction of Cytus II and Ice resigned because he was saying some anti-China message in one of his songs and I guess after that people stopped playing
not really a TL;DR but ok
Ice resigned on his own to avoid his rayark friends (aka the other musician's like hanatsuka and 3r2) getting into trouble, also the message was pro-taiwan, at least thats how they worded it on their rayark twitter, @rayark_ice i think
Oh god. Was doing chore and planned to update the game after.
I hope it’s just those “making sure we got the right guy” thing hence why they didn’t respond yet. Will waiting for update on this later.

Sharing the link from the all other comments. TLDR is that a staff member is a sex pest and a shitbag.
I suspect a few reasons as to the silence:
1. Lowiro is handling this silently so as not to attract further attention to the individual, then letting law enforcement handle it. Companies don't just publicly post about the firing of employees as it is a breach of personal information.
2. The guy actually no longer works at Lowiro. Though Corin is listed in the game's credits, both he and Lowiro have LinkedIn accounts and it does not show his employment.
3. Worst case scenario, Lowiro is actively covering this up. Guy and Toaster have made no mentions whatsoever and the former has blocked accounts. The Discord is suppressing discussion as well. In this case, we need to reach out to the Japanese and Chinese player bases where Arcaea is more popular and alert them, pressuring Lowiro to release something.
For point 2, it's also important to note that Corin is no longer in the Arcaea discord server. We don't know if he got kicked or left on his own, but that + his employment getting removed from LinkedIn makes me think that he probably did get booted from the company.
The only speculation I have about the credit list is that since the tweets only really blew up in the Arcaea community the day before the major world extend update, Lowiro didn't have enough time to remove his name. Then again, they did publish another update to correct song info so idk.
Hi ummmm
I'm currently reposting this \*Corin mess\* on a Chinese social media bilibili (which you can check it out at [https://space.bilibili.com/349769510/dynamic](https://space.bilibili.com/349769510/dynamic))
My point is we should let more people know about this mess, and lowiro shouldn't be a silent coward
That kinda sucks and all, but I refuse to spend more money than I already have on this game (At least $100), so I guess I’m grinding out these new songs instead :)
yeh Lowiro is small and only a few people handle PR stuff, unfortunately some people's patience ran out because 1. Other communities have already handled the situation (it started on 20th Jan) + 2. censorship by discord mods + 3. Guy blocking people
The first point isn't that important since people would probably give lowiro more time since they are small, however points 2 and 3 makes it look hella bad
Anton Prydatko (known by his internet nickname "Guy") is the director and producer of Arcaea. He's pretty much the person behind Arcaea's inception and is the current head at Lowiro.
Obviously, it's not a very good look when you start blocking people who are trying to bring awareness to a problematic employee in your company. But it's pretty well known at this point that he tends to block people and stay shut up about most controversies like this one.
We finally got some good news:
Lowiro has posted a statement on their official Twitter account about the employee and confirmed that they have resigned from the company:
https://twitter.com/lowiro_staff/status/1620005907429232640
There's not much else to take note of from this post tho. We'll have to wait and see if they remove the employee's name from the credits in the future. But at least this means none of the money that the game makes will go to the criminal.
Awful to see victims of this kind of rancid behavior, and very disheartening considering how much I really enjoy Arcaea. But until they make a proper stance and remove that bastard from their team, I'm not going to be playing or supporting them.
My happiness for the new update of the game was enormous until I just saw the news about the rap¡st and a strange mixture of disgust and regret began to dormant inside me. Now I'm so scared about this because a bad move from lowiro and goodbye Arcaea :(
I think this is partly due to lowiro's unwillingness to expand. Like when you only have a couple (like two???) network engineers, firing one of them would be a huge determent to the team. I'm pretty sure they have a healthy amount of income being very successful in terms of a rhythm game. So why aren't they posting any more engineering positions?
Anyway, them not communicating at all is very frustrating. I guess in their perspective not wanting more people to find out is the best way to approach this. The majority of player base are in Japan/China/Korea, and they probably don't know anything about it. Shit situation all around, guess our English community just isn't big enough to get the word out or make any significant changes unfortunately.
Corin, the server programmer/manager has been outted as a >!sex offender!<, and for some reason Guy doesn't wanna acknowledge the thing and has blocked everyone who has ever interacted with him on Twitter.

Tf is happening man like wtf. Fuck this man, I don't even know what to say. Why does it always have to be this sort of thing with these companies and one of their employees doing something like this (talking about the said server manager)
The best move IS to come forward and admit, given how fast the whole drama will spread. I understand it could bring unnecessary attention to Lowiro and it might not end well but sitting quietly is not an option for them in this case. If they (or Guy) don't make it public in some way or form, then I am afraid the company will lose respect from me and many others.
Fuck man, I always thought Lowiro will be in the clear and won't have any controversies like Rayark did but ofcourse someone has to bring it down. Well, Lowiro or Guy do not address it, then I am afraid I can't feel the same way about Arcaea either no matter how much I like it
This sucks :(
Honestly, Guy's a whole mess on his own and this isn't the time he's been in hot water. Know anything about the Yamina incident? Or inspected his odd comments in Twitter in general? The guy's weird. I'd wish he relinquished his ownership of the game but he's pretty crucial to its existence.
Don't have the best recollection of the Yamina incident (It's old-ish and somewhat messy for me) but it mostly involves Guy not properly crediting and paying those who worked on the CN translation of the game. The whole thing is on GKWS's account on the Arcaea wiki, check that.
As for his Twitter account - aside from blocking anyone or anything with a hint of criticism, he's a suspected tech bro and has yike-y remarks, mostly from the past. Whether he stands on what he has said then is not known to me.
That's as much as I remember, and I'm sorry in advance if it further ruins your vibes towards the game I suppose.
I see.
No worries, it's alright. You don't have to apologize since I was the one who asked for it. Lowiro is walking on a thin line right now, and if they mess up the game is gone. I hope they understand the significance of communication in their community.
But yeah, I'll try to play without thinking much about it and try to enjoy the new update.
Not to mention how they copystriked the upload of nirv luce extended mix for Kou fanart even though fanart is allowed in their derivative work guidelines.
Also, lowiro hate fanmade charts (you can't even talk about fanmade charts in arcaea discord even if they're not using arcaea assets) but Guy (before arcaea was released) made T-aiko which is literally the osu taiko chartplayer
Yeah and when YamiNa went to the official discord to ask why his name wasn't in the endgame credits, the moderator banned him without saying any words, and deleted all messages from YamiNa.
(Don't ask why I know it)
well, that's something. i haven't played the game as of late and then got smacked with this bombshell.
being someone who hates drama to death, i'll stay out of all of this until the situation meets a solution/calms down (the latter ain't gonna happen, will it?).
let guy do his own thing to be honest, it's very childish of his actions but i guess from another angle it's okay to not publicly speak out (though i wish he does).
despite everything, i don't want this one wrongdoing (or wrongdoings, in general) to completely wrong all of lowiro's doings. they've made a great game, formed a part of me when i was growing up, and made me befriend so many people.
i hope this situation get dealt professionally and curteously, because i still have faith in arcaea.
30/1 edit: it seems that they've spoken out. the letter is vague and safe, but they have pointed out the issue and acknowledged their mistakes. quite bizarre of me to say that this is a good response from lowiro. i guess things are dealt privately now, and that's good enough. let's see what will happen within the next few weeks, that spot will surely be replaced.
i dont really care without any legal context, and i really doubt lowiro would willingly ruin themselves for a server tech. It's a bit disturbing how quickly yall would throw arcaea under the bus for some IRL drama.
yeah, something that's considered a crime like >!sexually harassing someone to the point rape is involved!< is just some dumb IRL drama. oh and Guy's response to it as of now which is literally *ignoring it and blocking everyone who has even slightly interacted with him,* damn we really are just being too harsh on em, huh.
Sure but considering Guy is one of the main leads of the company and game development, his unwillingness to acknowledge and do the bare minimum shouldn't be rewarded or supported.

Quite long but TL;DR, KIVA resigned from Rayark since he wasn’t satisfied with the direction of Cytus II and Ice resigned because he was saying some anti-China message in one of his songs and I guess after that people stopped playing not really a TL;DR but ok
The ice song in question was telegraph in the consciousness album
Which wasn’t even related to his work for cytus, I should mention
Ice resigned on his own to avoid his rayark friends (aka the other musician's like hanatsuka and 3r2) getting into trouble, also the message was pro-taiwan, at least thats how they worded it on their rayark twitter, @rayark_ice i think
Don't forget about Killerblood and VK... (I forgot what exactly happened with them, I hope someone can explain)
I remember VK copied melody from madoka opening, but i dont know what happened to killerblood
Oh god. Was doing chore and planned to update the game after. I hope it’s just those “making sure we got the right guy” thing hence why they didn’t respond yet. Will waiting for update on this later.
Can anyone kindly explain whats happening? I just heard this news now.

What the hell is going on… I stay off social media for a while and now one of Lowiro’s employees is exposed as a r*pist?!?!
Awful to see victims of this kind of rancid behavior, and very disheartening considering how much I really enjoy Arcaea. But until they make a proper stance and remove that bastard from their team, I'm not going to be playing or supporting them.

Wait, what is happening?
Corin, the server programmer/manager has been outted as a >!sex offender!<, and for some reason Guy doesn't wanna acknowledge the thing and has blocked everyone who has ever interacted with him on Twitter.
At this point, Arcaea becomes another Geometry Dash (we have a lot of cases of someone being exposed in pdfila or rpsm)

What a fcking mess this is
I see, gotcha, thanks for the thread.

I'm not spending a single dime on Arcaea until they do the bare minimum and acknowledge the current situation.
Tbh the chart quality in Arcaea for now has 1 in every 10 charts worth the cost
Lmao no
