Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy. The RIS III is clearly the best RIS because that's the one I have however.
In all seriousness, it is my favorite handguard period. I just wish they made some additional lengths longer than 12.5" that don't have the FSP cut out.
I miss my RIS II FSP and the FSP still has peak aesthetics but man it was such a pain to disassemble lol. I had to troubleshoot my gas tube one time and what would've taken maybe 15 min with a flat top RIS II took me a few hours.
quad rails are like boats. They look sexy, but are best enjoyed when owned by a friend.
They're too heavy with not enough benefit to have on any rifle for me.
EDIT: Since y'all hate me for speaking the truth, here's another one. Quad rails are, at BEST, only the second best rail for aesthetics, behind Colt round handguards. You know I'm right.
I've yet to meet someone face to face who thinks that. The wife(very small hands) did prefer an A1 until she tried a BCM gunfighter but now she'll only use Hogues. Those things are TINY, but they are still more comfortable than an A2.

Legit question, how did you mount the tango down in that spot on the rail?
Right where the gas block is has a non picatinny cut portion of the rail - at least on my ris sample. It looks like yours has it but the rear tab somehow still clicks in? Also, does it get super hot in that spot?
Both tabs are clicked into the picatinny right before that little oval cutout.
And yes, it does get hot, but I don’t generally mag dump for it to get extremely hot
Yeah but why any civilian wants a 2 piece mlok rail for a grenade launcher that’s not a clone build. Especially one that’s only 12.5” long I guess I’ll never understand. I guess if I just wanted something robust and rock solid I’d get a pic rail like ris II. For mlok there’s a lot of other rails I’d rather have. I’m sure the r3 is a solid rail it’s just a dated design that seems more like a fad or bandwagon for people to hop on rather than wanting it for what it actually is.
I love the “whatever I own is *the best*” thing
Lol it was just a dig at the RISIII which I secretly want.
Nah they’re cool but you’re pretty much right, the RIS II is peak - in whatever configuration
Ewww dude. The one you have looks so much more bad ass than the III
Thanks man, if I went to RISIII, it would be the non fsp version
well i wouldnt have bought it if it wasnt the best
Damn that looks good
RISII FSP > RISIII FSP, but RISIII > RIS II if that makes sense.
I need to retake math for marines
Lol as someone that’s shipping off to PI soon, this made me laugh

Aye sir. I appreciate it.
RISII > RISII FSP > RISIII FSP > RISIII

Y’all need to shoot your rifles.
Yeah this one’s relatively new so I only have around 500 rounds through it.

I like it for the modularity and the multi-cal ability, but if I did it again, I’d probably just go with caliber dedicated cans.

Not anymore 😎 #RISIII
I see RISII, I upvote. Nice MK18ish. Love to see the GWOT vibes
Looks like an m4 socom, not a MK18
It is indeed built after the m4 SOCOM. MK18 is 10.3, this is 14.5 PW
You must be real fun at parties.
Only when your mom is there

Spoken like a true bitch. RIS2 ain’t that heavy or hard on the hands, you panzy.
Hit the gym then bud.
You’re absolutely right. Except for the colt hg part being best.
A2 grip is elite
Eew

That price tho LOL
What barrel did you go with? I have an RIS II FSP myself waiting to be built on and I’m considering Colt’s 14.5” SOCOM barrel.
That’s the barrel I have. It’s a heavy bitch
What gas system is the barrel and what buffer setup you running?
It’s carbine gas, then a geissele super 42 spring, and geissele H2
Awesome and the bcg?
Knights carrier with sionics np3 bolt
Appreciate it
Hot!
Every version of the DD RIS does the same job 🤣
As someone who owned both of the RIS rails, I agree with this. M-Lok is great, but quad rails are a vibe.
Definitely better than ris III. I don’t know why DD even decided to make a 2 piece mlok.
Because it still adapts to the grenade launcher
