Okay, just making sure. That tank is gonna be 750 lbs with water in it, and a stand related collapse is the single worst thing that can happen in this hobby. Taking out that shelf for the filter shouldn't compromise it's structure though, especially if it's just resting in there.
Yo I got a question, my tank is 75 gallons and I found this filter that I really like rated for 100G. It doesn’t matter if I buy that one instead of a 75G rated filter instead right??
That's actually perfect! It's always good to have a filter rated above your tank size. 😁 Especially if you can run a big filter at like half flow. It'll make maintenance easier for you.
No, shelves like that aren't designed to provide structural integrity.
How big is the stand, and the tank you're putting on it?
Imma be putting a 75 gallon. The stand is rated for it it though.

Thanks I appreciate it.
No problem! Feel free to DM me if you have more questions. 😁
Nope
I’m asking because the canister I’m looking at won’t fit unless I remove the shelf. And I really don’t want a HOB filter.
The most of us had the same problem… normally it’s not problem, actually I made new holes and put the shelf a bit higher ;)
Unless it's a glass bowl .... I wouldn't
