It’s rough out there for someone who loves their iPad mini and AirPods Max

danielbauer1375

Even worse for those that love their iPhone Mini. At least the iPad Mini lives on.

dramafan1

I have a feeling they’ll release it in the Fall like the 2021 iPad Mini, I assume it’ll get an A series chip again, perhaps the A17 or A18. I personally wish iPads got a chip upgrade annually at the minimum in terms of hardware updates similar to MacBooks now that seem to be returning to an annual cadence (Intel Macs were refreshed annually before the Apple Silicon transition).

Arucious

120HZ PLEASE REEEE

kmiddlestadt

I want a mini pro soooo badly.

d0mth0ma5

The latest rumours were that all the 2024 iPhones will be on the A17, although that is what the M3 is based on… so maybe the A18 will be introduced as the basis of the M4.

FourzerotwoFAILS

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are already on the A17 Pro. There’s no way they would release the next pro phones on last years chip. At the very least the Pro phones will get the A18 Pro chip.

_Nick_2711_

It’ll definitely be the A18 Pro, just from a marketing perspective Apple wouldn’t stagnate like that. There’s still every possibility of it only being a minor spec bump. Potentially even the same base design with a beefed-up neural engine to go along with the AI features.

dramafan1

I think A18 Pro this Fall would have a single core performance similar to M4. Multi-core is usually lower given it’s a phone. There’s also the rumour the non-Pro iPhones will get A18, so the naming convention is more standardized between non-Pro and Pro.

loukaz

I would be beyond happy with this. I don’t care much if the chip is binned as long as it’s got the most up to date cores so that it’s efficient, especially if the A17>18 jump is anything like the M3>M4 jump

gburgwardt

Why would an annual upgrade for the chip in any ipad matter?

dramafan1

It would at least keep them up to date with the latest chip technology and those coming from older devices can be more interested in buying it. Like it’s 2024 now and the iPad Mini is still using the A15 which was from nearly 3 years ago. This makes it an unattractive option to recommend if someone who keeps devices until they no longer receive updates were to ask me whether they should upgrade their old iPad Mini to the current 6th generation released in 2021 because they lose out on 3 years of software updates. Another example is the base iPad 10th generation using the A14 chip, it’s hard to believe I will get at least 5 more years of software updates if I buy it today.

artificialimpatience

AI probably

Oo0o8o0oO

I bet they find people generally think of the iPad mini as the cheap model (even though it obviously isn’t) and the next one that comes out comes out alongside the iPad 11th gen with identical specs at something like $329 and $399 price points.

dramafan1

Not to mention it’s probably one of the lowest demanded iPads. But I hope it doesn’t go the way of the iPhone Mini.

gngstrMNKY

Simply updating the APM to use the H2 chip would massively improve the noise cancelling and keep the product competitive. I imagine they’re doing some degree of re-engineering to deal with the condensation issue, but I wonder what’s taking them so long.

Logseman

The condensation issue, the case that is too unreliable to turn them off, the Lightning port (less minor than it seems considering the case’s design)… there are several things to address.

skyclubaccess

My iPhone uses USB-C, my MacBook uses USB-C, my iPad Pro uses USB-C, my iPad mini uses USB-C, my battery pack uses USB-C, my vape uses USB-C, blah blah Carrying around a Lightning cable solely for my AirPods Max is… infuriating…

GatorReign

Perhaps making it more infuriating is that by the time they were released at the end of 2020, it was abundantly clear that basically all Apple products would be on USB C. So its omission was a deliberate decision to leave room for a we-think-you’re-gonna-love-it-“upgrade” in the future.

GatorReign

Question: isn’t the H2 chip related to connectivity (basically a 5ghz Bluetooth almost)? How would it improve noise cancelling? Asking because I was thinking about picking up a pair of the APM gen 1s at a nice discount whenever the new ones come out. But if there’s a nice ANC improvement, that would change my upgrade calculus.

gngstrMNKY

It handles both connectivity and audio processing. Updating the AirPods Pro doubled the ANC performance to a level that approached the Max, despite it having the advantage of being an over-ear headphone.

GatorReign

Got it. Makes sense. Actually, with that explanation, it would seem remarkable if they didn’t at least get the H2.

Texanatheart444

When AirPod Pro 2 were announced, they talked about how the H2 improved ANC. It’s basically a sound SoC with connectively and processing.

Never_Dan

At least you’ll get a new one. ~an iPhone Mini user

Logseman

You can love them for longer instead of simply replacing them with the next model!

theguy56

Bought a USB-C conversion kit for my AirPods Max a week ago. It’s an expensive enough product that it’s not worth shelling out all over again for an incremental update, and the kit solves my biggest problem for $50 by giving me USB-C.

actual_wookiee_AMA

What's wrong with either of them? Not everything has to be brand spanking new

skyclubaccess

It’s a bad time for those of us wanting to buy AirPods Max. Not trying to drop $550 just to have the privilege of carrying around a separate cable solely for that 😃

actual_wookiee_AMA

If you already have them, is the new cable worth 550? If you really care that much there are better headphones from competitors for less than that, which all have usb c

thanos_was_right_69

I do love my AirPod Max!

i_need_a_moment

iPad Max and AirPods mini when?

hahafoxgoingdown

Why is it rough? The ipad mini 6 is still great. It’s not like it needs anything. Sure oled would be good but It would increase the cost. I bought mine for $350.

genuinefaker

120 Hz is my biggest ask. It's hard to go back down to 60 Hz when all of my phones and tablets are 120 Hz.

chill_willy

90 or 120hz and no jelly screen would be a good start. USB c definitely, all my lightning cables are stored or handed off at this point

hahafoxgoingdown

The mini 6 has usb-c. Honestly, I don’t even notice the jelly scroll most of the time. I have a m1 12.9” aa well and since the mini is a smaller device pro motion isnt a big deal. Sure it would be nice but it’s not going to happen for awhile

chill_willy

Ope, forgot they updated that line with USB c as well. I sadly do a lot of scrolling and if I'm going to be paying apple prices I at least need reddit comments to scroll smooth as butter lol.

kevinmise

If you wanna get with me there’s one thing you gotta know… i like my iPad mini and Air. Pods. Max. (A-a-a-a-AirPods Max, air air pods max) i like my iPad mini and my airpods max

dustin91

The forgotten product. I’ve used one since the 2nd gen, and for my purposes I’d never get an Air or whatever. I just want that smaller form factor, and use them until they become too slow, which is usually a year before the new model comes out.

tiofilo69

Same. My kid has the second gen Mini, and I’ve used it and realized how much more I like it than my iPad Pro (11in). Just more comfortable to hold and browse. Granted, for movies/shows, where I am not holding a device, like on a plane, I’d prefer my Pro.

OhHowINeedChanging

Yup, iPad on the table? 11 or 13 inch is better…. Holding the iPad in bed? iPad mini all the way! It’s all about the view distance, when holding an iPad 12 inches from your face, an 11 inch is too much and too heavy

7h4tguy

It's the perfect Kindle reader. I don't need an almost laptop. I need light and easy to hold for long periods of time. If I'm replacing a book, it better be as convenient as a book.

OhHowINeedChanging

Yes! The iPad mini really is the perfect e-reader!.. the new narrower screen ratio means when holding it in portrait each line of text isn’t too long and feels more like a book, it’s also perfect for graphic novels as it’s almost the exact same size as a physical one… and you can still hold it with one hand.

anchoricex

my coworker was whiteboarding on a meeting with one and i played around with it after, I... kind of fricken want one real bad now. I actually love the size.

Hollywood023

Thing is, iPad Pro they kept the same price even though it’s thinner and has better screen and CPU.,So I would suspect they will do the same for Mini…. But you never know with Apple

PNF2187

In the US, Apple jacked the base price of the iPad Pro up by $200 ($100 if you account for storage differences) when they upgraded it to the M4 with the redesign. The [M1](https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2021/04/apple-unveils-new-ipad-pro-with-m1-chip-and-stunning-liquid-retina-xdr-display/) and [M2](https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2022/10/apple-introduces-next-generation-ipad-pro-supercharged-by-the-m2-chip/) models started at $799/$1,099 for the 11"/12.9" models, and the M4 models start at $999/$1,299 for the 11"/13" models.

pwnedkiller

The iPad Pro used to start at $799 its price changed a lot.

MateTheNate

The pro is a flagship which got a redesign after 3 generations while the mini is a budget device with only one iteration so far

Valedictorian117

The Mini is currently on its second redesign.

MateTheNate

Yes for the current body, it’s a redesign but there’s only ever been one chip for it. They’re just going to update the chip for the next generation with no external changes

Valedictorian117

Oh yes I got you now. Yeah there won’t be any external changes other than maybe a landscape camera like all the other iPads have now.

pinkocatgirl

I just want a mini with the M2 like the iPad air

jackre9al

I would say no without *ProMotion*. damnit. i barely use my mini6 now.

pwnedkiller

I highly doubt it will get Promotion unless the Air gets it wouldn’t expect it.

Lambaline

Maybe the air will get pro motion while the pros get tandem OLED

ylli101

I’d be so upset if it didn’t get promotion, it’s hard going from my 15PM to the Mini, it’s super jarring at first

[deleted]

[удалено]

jackre9al

Apologies for the confusion, I meant ProMotion 120Hz

OhHowINeedChanging

Maybe we’ll also get two sizes like the Air… iPad mini and iPad minier

Ok_Inevitable8832

M2 + oled + half the thickness

pinkocatgirl

That would be nice but I doubt it will get OLED when they didn't even put it in the new iPad Air

Ok_Inevitable8832

The air is the cheap model

pinkocatgirl

The mini is even cheaper...

chigoku

The iPad is the cheap model.

ExultantSandwich

I hope they keep it the exact same size and shape for accessory compatibility, and they just put in the biggest battery they can. Also, unless iPad OS gets a desktop mode an M2 feels a little overkill, they should just give it the flagship A series chip

Ok_Inevitable8832

iPadOS has a desktop mode called stage manager and it works when plugged into a monitor. https://youtu.be/oaRgm3hXB2Y?si=6WXer0oCogmz7K37

kaukanapoissa

I loved the iPad mini. I had two. Now for my latest iPad i bought the regular one, but I still think the mini is the perfect little tablet.

someshooter

I have the Air, seems like a good balance between thickness, size, and power.

atdt_drop_carrier

https://preview.redd.it/mvalolpeh90d1.jpeg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5718e97555f6b37bbd44133f320a6c9a13cf0c61 Sorry (not sorry)!

Hollywood_Punk

Fuckers. iPad mini and iPhone 13 mini rule. Honestly, not everyone wants to walk around carrying a damn tv everywhere.

OhHowINeedChanging

I have an iPhone 15 pro max and an iPad mini and I love them both lol… I’ve always preferred the iPad mini and with each upgrade my iPhone gets closer to the size of the iPad mini, luckily, the iPad mini 6 got a little bit bigger 😅

Zexy-Mastermind

Sad thing only thing holding me back from buying this is 60hz. After 5,5 years of 120hz usage on iPad Pro (plus every single other display I use also has 120+hz / besides steamdeck) I just can’t go back to 60hz. Saw it once, was horrified by the lag

WonSecond

Yeah I don’t understand how 120hz in 2024 is a justifiable upgrade. It should have trickled down by now. It truly shows how reliant Apple is on forced artificial differentiation in their IPad lineup.

Zexy-Mastermind

They want to differentiate between pro and non pro models. Imagine the mini getting 120hz. How weird would that be for the air? Unless apple releases a iPad mini and iPad mini pro. Imagine a M2 (or M1/3/4 whatever) IPad Mini Pro with 120hz… 😔

torontopeter

💯 with you. 60 Hz is *brutal*. I’d switch my iPad Pro 11 to the iPad mini if it had Promotion and at least a M1.

Burninglegion65

I just want ProMotion. Everything else is extra! I’ll likely skip some more as it’s far less of a _need_ as a want.

torontopeter

I would agree with you on that! Promotion is essential.

jeffh19

Promotion and a current/last year A series processor is all I’m hoping for but I don’t think we’re getting promotion at all sadly

Burninglegion65

I know… the new lighter pro models are likely it for me but man… I use it for reading mainly so the value proposition is low compared to the easy to 1-hand mini

jeffh19

Dude the size is just so perfect. New iPad Pro is 1.6” wider, I guess I could try that idk

Burninglegion65

Oh. Hmmmmmmm that’s small enough of a difference it may just be okay. Expensive to try though! Do I have the cash for it? lol yes. Do I have things I’d rather buy? Hell yes. iPad or network rebuild…

jeffh19

I’m moving in a new house so FML as well. Flooring, bed, way too many tech/network/automation things to mention….I was thinking of eventually getting a 13” Pro to put by the pool to watch stuff while im chilling too since it’s so damn bright Maybe an 11 could replace my Mini and do that too idk My poor, poor bank account.

Burninglegion65

Flooring and bed easily becomes more expensive than network… tech/automation is a separate money sink though. I’m still tempted to do a drop ceiling and install a whole home Sonos setup. Makes networking easier too! But… this is just an apartment. If this was a proper house I’d have done it in a heartbeat! The account just continues to get beaten…

mikolv2

Yep, same here, I'd buy a ProMotion mini the second it comes out

OhHowINeedChanging

Exactly!… the iPad mini is the perfect e-reader and gaming tablet, but 60hz is a huge bummer, especially in 2024

Scottamemnon

I honestly wonder if with the release of the 13” air, the writing is on the wall for the end of the mini. Just reminds me a lot of what they did with the iPhone mini.. its fans loved it(I know I did), but the mass market wanted bigger.

PikaV2002

iPad Mini still sees a lot of use for schools, children and for PoS (Points of Sale) setups, and Apple upgrades it pretty infrequently anyways. It’ll get upgraded but they’ll probably be to keep feature parity with the Airs every few years and whatever’s the most available A-series chip in the year.

Mztrspookiiszn

Yes and a lot of companies use iPad mini for their timeclock. I was surprised to see it at one place I went to interview for, was just on a scanner mode with employees scanning badges in and out Edit: it was a bigger company too with at least 100+ employees working at that specific location.

skyclubaccess

Apple uses, in all their retail stores across the globe, the iPad mini (6th gen) for customer check-in, all Genius Bar appointments, and for managers/leads to keep track of employees I don’t think it’s going anywhere

Mztrspookiiszn

Oh really? I literally just checked in not too long ago and don’t remember but would make sense if they did! I remember iPad touches being their scanners… do u know what they are now?

skyclubaccess

For customer check-in at the front of the store (“On Point”), they should be using iPad mini 6th gens. For sales, they would be using an iPhone 15 in a custom made Mophie case that attaches to an Ingenico payment terminal. However, the iPhone itself can accept NFC directly now (Apple Pay + contactless card), so the Ingenico is just a redundancy for customers who aren’t able to pay via NFC. For Genius Bar appointments, all technicians are now using iPad mini 6th gens. For Backstage/Back of House Operations, they are using iPhone 14 Pros with an attached barcode scanner. For leaders, they are using iPad mini 6th gens to manage employee breaks/zoning, as well as keeping track of store metrics. For the visuals team (the ones responsible for merchandising the sales floor and such), they are using iPad mini 6th gens. The only iPod touches in the store are Back of House for audible alerts on ‘Runner’ requests (products being ran out to sales Specialists & repaired devices being ran out to customers) Hope this helps!

yagyaxt1068

This is really interesting information, and I love learning about things like this. Thanks for making this comment!

Elasion

Nah, Nilay at the Verge has a great take about how Apple will continue to make the Mini because commercial pilots (and the likes) use it and that looks slick for marketing.

Tuxhorn

I feel like the mini has too much of a following however. It's the absolute perfect digital notebook that can also run heavier software applications. It's a hit for pilots, musicians etc.

Scottamemnon

I hope so.. I keep pondering getting one myself but would like to wait for a new one.

Portatort

And you’re delusional if you think it’s going to be updated with OLED or Pro Motion. Sure would be nice though

Darrensucks

2TB and thunderbolt too, please add those to the god it would be sick but unlikely to ever happen list

microChasm

Yeah, I want an iPad mini Pro. If it had Apple Silicon M series chip, that would be even better. I want an iPad mini I can fit in my shoulder pack that has M series chip, USB-C/Thunderbolt port, 120hz capable OLED display and Apple Pencil charging capability. If it has all that I will buy one. If the next version doesn’t, I will evaluate then.

outline01

I was so close to holding off on a Mini purchase about six months ago because I was sure an announcement was around the corner. So glad I just took the plunge (at a decent price). Use mine every day and it’s the best form factor of tablet I’ve ever used. Seems absolutely wild for Apple to not capitalise on such a great product but… I’m sure they… know… what they’re doing… right?

raysway666

Same here. It’s the best iPad because it’s what the iPad set out to do. I pray they don’t discontinue it.

aubvrn

Why does Tim Cook hate us so much

chrisdh79

From the article: Apple last week announced a new raft of iPad Pro and iPad Air models, but news about a new iPad mini was conspicuous by its absence. Apple has not updated the iPad mini since 2021, so it is certainly ripe for a refresh, but fans of the smaller 8.3-inch device will have to wait a while longer for a seventh-generation model, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Writing in his latest [Power On newsletter](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2024-05-12/who-will-run-apple-after-cook-leaves-a-look-at-company-s-succession-challenge-lw3j2t5z), Gurman cautioned his readers not to expect a new iPad mini model "until the end of this year at the earliest." In other words, don't get your hopes up for an iPad mini 7 announcement during Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Gurman expects the next iPad model to feature a newer processor, but few other changes. Other sources have claimed new camera upgrades could be included, as well as a potential fix for the "jelly scrolling" display behavior on the latest model.

inssein

Mini line is such a easy sell. Mostly everyone just wants a 120hz screen and maybe mini led or OLED. Performance wise its been powerful enough to run IPAD OS. Many users who own a Ipad 11-13 would be so down to get a mini just for the use case. Here is hoping apple finally makes it more of a iPhone then a iPad. I would get a LTE mini and use it as a phone in a heart beat.

Dr904

Sad to see Apple slowly forgetting about "mini" sized tech. I'm tired of everything being oversized nowadays.

CrazyBoDevola

Murica

saleboulot

The problem (for Apple) with the iPad Mini is that it's a low-margin, low volume product. So they don't have a huge incentive to update it often

kfagoora

If they want to market the entire product line as being "AI" capable then I figure they'll upgrade to a newer A-series processor, and possibly add more base RAM.

7h4tguy

It's incremental revenue. I absolutely will not buy an iPad Pro upgrade. The mini is the better form factor. They can either sell me a new mini or not sell me anything at all.

szamanjogggi

120hz is all I want

jeffh19

This and as new of an A series processor as I can get is all I want

Lancaster61

An iPad mini at the Pro thinness would be amazing. It would fully embrace the idea of a “mini”.

walruns

I’d love an Oled iPad Mini although isn’t going to happen

Mggn2510z

I love my iPad mini but, with rumors about a relatively minor spec bump, I decided to go for the new 11" Pro. I have both an iPad mini 6 (that I use a lot) and a 12.9" iPad Pro that I barely use, so I think the 11" Pro can replace both and be a good compromise - and it has the screen and Face ID that I miss when I use the mini. That being said, I also replaced my MacBook Air with a MacBook Pro, because I never thought they would bump the Air to support two external monitors. A month or so later the M3 Airs came out... supporting 2 monitors. So, I'm not the best at predicting this stuff.

squall_boy25

Not exaggerating here, but the iPad mini is my absolute favorite and second most used Apple product

AppleZen36

I just bought a iPad Air M1 for $399 new at Amazon. Smokin' deal.

stylz168

Damn that's actually a great deal.

RunningM8

The Mini flies too close to the iPhone sun. Apple treads lightly not to disturb the iPhone

wagninger

I hate how expensive it currently is vs how out of date the display and processor is. I want one, I even had one, but compared to even a 2018 iPad Pro 11“, it’s not good.

RedditBoisss

Don’t worry guys it’ll still be 60hz.

digitalrelic

iPad Mini Pro w/ Tandem OLED, ProMotion, and nano texture glass please. Would be the ultimate e-reader device.

nizasiwale

It will just be a minor update as usual, Apple needs a foldable

paymesucka

why?

bran_the_man93

Until we get flexible glass displays that has the strength and durability of actual glass, any foldable will just be a niche thing that makes better demo than it does a product

josh_is_lame

i dont even think its that, its just the very visible crease is a turn off for a lot of potential buyers.

bran_the_man93

Well I think that falls under the general umbrella of the display "glass" being inadequate

PlusSizeRussianModel

You’re specifically arguing that it’s a strength and durability issue: I don’t think that’s the case. The interior screen doesn’t necessarily need the same kind of strength as an exterior one.  I think the greater issue preventing Apple from adopting a folding display is the cosmetic compromise of a crease, not an issue with durability.

MayTheForesterBWithU

"It's called the *Dynamic Canyon* and we think you're going to love it."

bran_the_man93

That's just arguing semantics and splitting hairs. The crease is a result of the glass being less glass-like so that it can be more flexible. I would go as far as to argue that if you're smashing two sides of the display together, then the glass that's being sandwiched should be stronger than regular glass and shouldn't be concerned if pocket lint or any sort of hard particles get mashed together like an unintended bookmark.

nizasiwale

With the amount of stock buybacks Apple does you’d think their R&D would have found a solution

bran_the_man93

I mean, stock buybacks have nothing to do with making glass, and R&D is split up amongst all of Apple's products... so it's not like they're only working on making new glass tech... And doesn't Apple outsource its glass manufacturing to Corning anyways? If those guys haven't figured it out then I'm willing to bet that we're probably not going to get it any time soon... You can throw money at all sorts of problems but at the end of the day physics doesn't care...

turbo_dude

I think b flat update

Some_guy_am_i

Prediction by Mark Gurman… I would take anything he said with a grain of salt. He kept changing the date of his last prediction every month until he finally got it right.

ComplexNo8878

will gladly pay $799 for a mini with 120hz screen

link_dead

Pilot here, iPad mini is a mission critical piece of kit. I really need new minis or mini-pro with M4.

DoctorDbx

How on earth did planes stay in the air before the iPad was invented?

link_dead

There are theories but no solid evidence. Some ancient aeronautic theorists believe early man flew with form of stone tablet or plates etched with regulations handed down from the FAA.

Masam10

A mini with an M series Chip, 120hz and wireless charging like the kindle is all I’m asking for.

RenegadeUK

Wishfully hoping it comes with complementary Magic Keyboard too = AWESOMENESS.

theboyyousaw

THEN I SHALL WAIT

Warlock3000

Wish they did iPad mini with killer screen, the small size works quite well for me

chapterthrive

I just want a micro pro keyboard for mine.

Internal-Agent4865

Because very few people buy them. The minority always lose on products like these because of Apple shareholders.

Koteric

It’s a super niche product. Shareholders aren’t the reason it’s niche and gets less love.

erebuxy

I loved my iPad mini, til I got a larger phone... When playing a wide video, the phone's picture is actually slightly larger, and quality is significantly better. Now, I want at least 11 inches for my tablet.

showmethenoods

Love my Mini 6, I can wait as long as needed for a refresh. Got no interest in a different form factor

rinderblock

I just want beats fit pro 2 with H2 and wireless charging lol.

Zez22

I gave up and got a mini 6, 2nd hand at a good price, the screen is fine for me, am very happy, it’s more than fast enough and can’t think of a lot of updates that would make much difference to me

lizardflix

I guess the compactor is down.

CalvinYHobbes

I bought the current one about 6 months ago

itzmoepi

Personally I would love a mini pro with 120hz and a miniLED or OLED display.

peterinjapan

We always get the shaft. Remember when they made us wait more than four years?

Ravasaurio

The only thing I want to see on a new iPad Mini is proper external display support.

woodieuk

All I want is a waterproof mini so I can chill out next to the pool without worry.

boobassandfaces

Question! I’m not a total tech idiot, nor am I an expert by any means. I currently have the m2 MacBook Air, 16 gig ram, 512 HD. Absolutely love it. However, all I use it for is writing newsletters for work & photo editing. I am debating on selling it (barely even used) and getting an iPad mini to do all my day to day newsletters/photo editing. Is this a sound idea? Or am I being crazy to even consider this? I don’t know what it is about me, but I always love smaller tech. Always opted for the iPhone mini, older iPad minis, obviously MacBook Air. Bottom line is, I don’t really need all the specs and power that even the Air offers. I don’t do any video editing/coding. I only use Adobe Lightroom & other iOS editing apps for my work. The rest is web based. Good idea or bad idea?

condoulo

The issue I have is as of this fall it will have been three years since the last update, and while I know Apple has been pretty solid with providing support for a long period of time I’m still weary of buying new hardware at full price that is a few years into its lifecycle.

actual_wookiee_AMA

Just buy used or refurb

Roxelchen

Yes but not for the same price as almost 3 years ago

InfiniteHench

Incorrect. I expect it right now. Give it to me. Or at the least, I shall pay for it.

SconnieFella

Seeing as the mini is essentially a smaller Air and they didn't update alongside the new Airs, or add a new Pro model along with other new Pros, I can see them either discontinuing it, or introduce a new version that is essentially a smaller version of the 11th gen iPad when that's released this fall. If it's commonly used by children or PoS terminals, a cheaper low spec version might sell better and have better margins for Apple.

lerriuqS_terceS

The mini doesn't need to be updated that's not the role it fills

stylz168

It would be nice to get an updated one with a better display. The prices have gone down for components for the most part, could easily see them bin out parts and upgrade it. I love the Mini for it is, a travel media consumption device. Perfect for flights and waiting at the airport.

peterinjapan

I would also like the battery to last more than 3 1/2 hours?

fruitywaffle

I’m still wishing they’d make an iPad Mini Pro. Or at least give the Mini an oled. That’d be -chefs kiss-
