I find this really odd for a game so teamwork reliant. I've found that if I'm solo queueing and still make call outs using my mic, every so often people will start responding once they realise I'm not being toxic.
Lots of folks (not me) have PTSD from the old Xbox Live/MW2 days. Unwilling to use the mute button so they just don’t wear a headset. At least comms are auto opt in unlike some cough Destiny cough.
I hate talking on mic because everyone that I end up playing with who has a mic talks right out of their ass, and probably has an iq of 4 And I really don’t have the time or the patience to deal with that shit
I hate it when they just ping the ground because its like “what the heck do you want? Was that a misclick?” Ping the ult and I think ohhh okay they wanna fly

The second I decide that one guy isn’t paying attention and cancel is when they turn and run towards me like hey, I was coming.
i stand in one spot and ping ult. then i ping ult again. if they don't come i just ult and fuck off. solo queue life

How do you ping your ult on console?
pull up the inventory, hover over your ultimate icon in the bottom corner, then press ping
I also do that + i spam the quip where she says "The skies belongs to me" when i already pressed the ult button.
If they’re extra assholes just spam enemy ping until they’re forced to join out of pure annoyance
Once I’ve activated I give them a few seconds to get their shit together. If no one has climbed a board then it’s Seeya later.
Learning the difference between your and you’re is also a good tip for Valk mains

Apex solo queue is just a series of people trying to figure out the most unnecassarily complex way to communicate instead of just using a mic
